How I Detangle My Tangled and Knotted Natural Hair

  • Hey Lovelies! This was one of the longest detangling sessions I've had in a while. Detangling that flexi rod style was worse than just detangling my wash and go...hands down! It probably didn't help that I waited so long to do this. Oops! Xoxo

    I know some people will see this video and say, “No way! I don’t want long hair!” 💇🏾‍♀️ But it makes me want it more! 🙂

  • @l8terivy
    @l8terivy 5 лет назад +9

    I appreciate your transparency with you hair. Some RUclipsrs (myself included) make it seem like their hair if perfect and don’t show the imperfections. Huge knots, large shedding, bald spots, etc are usually cut out of the video. You encourage me to be open and honest about my hair. I have medium-low density hair so it looks like im balding in certain sections. But the reality is, my hair is not dense and thick like most girls on RUclips. I also went out and bought a Tangle Teezer per your recommendation.

    Ok let me start with THANK YOU!! I see all these dang videos and people act like there hair is hella easy to detangle. Got me over here like sis what the hell and I doing wrong it takes me a good 30 mins or longer. That's before I can even wash it. My hair is not as long as yours but it's long and I'm hella tired after lol

    • @l8terivy
      @l8terivy 5 лет назад +5

      true. i thought there was something wrong with my hair because it takes me 1.5 hours to detangle. but im learning many RUclipsrs just cut out the lengthy detangle process.

  • @tashashonta1337
    @tashashonta1337 5 лет назад +4

    Now that seemed realistic. Looking at some of these other detangling videos I thought something was wrong with my hair. I feel better knowing that there is some one out there who knows my pain when it comes 2 detangling.

      @iseerightthrucapandbullcra1134 5 лет назад +3

      The things I do are pretty much identical to what this RUclipsr does, I Detangle this way,use all natural products,I wash and condition her hair every 2 weeks,I keep her hair in typical little girl styles or protective style such as braids,plaits or twists,(no weave)I do not use rubber bands in her hair,I use satin hair ties if needed,most importantly I try to keep her hair moisturized daily,(use a good daily moisturizer of your choice) low manipulation,little to no heat(maybe once a year) and silk or satin bonnets or pillow case at night, I hope this helps😄 learning and caring for my daughters hair actually motivated me to go natural!!

    Your hair is beautiful , but this video is making me remember why I have a love hate relationship with mine when it grows long 😂. It has never been as long yours (longest was just past bra length while straightened), but those tangles & knots are a struggle. Currently trying to let it grow as long as it can & watching your vids for inspo so I don't shave or cut it off again. 💜

    This woman has to stand UP to get all of her beautiful healthy hair in the camera frame. What a blessing. Followers do you all remember when she got her hair ends clipped/trimmed? She had to stand up for that too. Her hair is so long and gorgeous that the stylist had to get her to stand to cut it properly. I love it! If only I could grow my hair this long. I know it is possible my hair hasn't always been the short length or feel that it is now. I am someone who prefers hair a longer length. For me anything shoulder length or longer is my personal preference. Sometimes life happens. I still find it amazing how the effect of some medications (which really aren't anything but chemicals) can have on the health of ones hair growth , look and texture. No matter how much care you take with your hair or the proper foods and water that you may drink, some medications will over bare all of that. So one day when I don't have to intake such things my hair and it's growth will be better again. But for now Ebony I am enjoying your videos and that hair of yours that you take such good care of. I enjoy seeing how it grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows some more. Do you know who the singer Crystal Gayle is? If you keep letting your hair grow (and I hope that you do) I hope you don't cut it but it is your hair attached to you and not me. Your hair will be like hers. Crystal Gayle's hair pretty much drags the floor in length. I gave this video a thumbs uP. Bye Now.

    You can detangle with just water. Try letting the water from the faucet or shower continuously run through your hair and finger comb or use a wide toothed comb. Water is a natural moisturizer so it does what the products take time to do. Your hair is beautiful!

    Hey, I need advice for trimming my hair because my hair is growing well at the moment and I’m moisturising and everything but will cutting the ends make more of a difference? Let me know 😊

    • @melodymaker9711
      @melodymaker9711 5 лет назад

      Mariko hi. Trust me when I say cutting your ends will make a difference to your locks. They’ll be a little shorter but so much stronger and you’ll experience less breakage. I never used to trim my hair until about 4yrs ago. My hair is waist length now, where before it didn’t get much past bra length. I also deep condition once a week and clarify my hair every 4-6 weeks and it’s all made a huge difference to the health of my hair. The ends used to be so frizzy due to my split ends. Now, I can leave it out and have amazing curls! My curl pattern is the same as Ebony’s but not quite there with the length. Hair goals!! Wish you all the best 🙂

    • @benitasilva411
      @benitasilva411 5 лет назад

      I m torn really our hair grows dispite trimming it may make it easier but really taking your time will help that people talk about spit ends but really finding each inperfected hair and cutting it off isn't what is intended for our hair I hadn't trimmed my son's hair for the first 3 years of his life his hair was to his hips the minute I trimmed it. It stunted in growth I decided to take my time detangling leaving my hair so it will grow the way god intended all that isn't meant to be there will leave you god care of your hair will get you there more than anything to even it up is what I may do if I do decided to put any kind of sizzers to my hair
