I would LOVE if you made a patreon. It would be fun to see your WIPs in update posts every so often on there either in photo format or mini vlogs. It’d also be cool to see more of your design process and project planning. I also think it would be cool to see some technical posts for skills that you use when working on your projects. Honestly I’d be happy with whatever!
I have that hot topic skirt too! Super well done recreating it, your sky pirate version is gorgeous! I may be stepping on toes if your group had someone being the ship’s lookout. But I think a shiny brass telescope would also be a really good pirate accessory. I don’t know what the weapons policy is like for stricter fairs, but some allow foam swords. If you wanted to dabble in EVA foam work, a brassy / gold cannon hanging off your back would definitely grab attention at the fair. Or maybe a fake crossbow?
the skirt is so cute - the whole fit is such a huge vibe! i've always loved that like steampunk/sky pirate / kinda treasure planet vibe. and oh man - feeling like you have to make the sewing process faster while still wanting to enjoy Making and having so many ideas!! i feel that on such a deep level. the struggle is real!! (and Twilight's Tempest!!! omg what a fun name!)
The outfit is absolutely one of my favorite things. The entire group looked SO GOOD, y'all never cease to amaze. 🌙 ✨ On the idea of Patreon, if it's too much additional work, I'd say don't do it. I do think it's a nice way to congregate the people who want a deeper dive into your process, but that also means additional filming and editing (usually with Behind-the-Scenes vlogs and things). But also means additional income if you want to possibly outsource some of the burden of work 👀 If you do decide to go a membership subscription route, I'd think it would be fun to have monthly streams - q&a's, crafting days (to get inspired by the community or to inspire the community by crafting as a collective), sewing advice, etc. I personally think it would be cool if you were able to sell your patterns/work templates (like the measurement chart for the corset body) on an online shop, and maybe also a monthly newsletter with fun project updates. However, I don't know your workflow and which option makes more sense for you. Additionally, if it's feasible, creating a backlog of videos could help with scheduling and minimizing burnout because then there's a bit less of a rush to churn out *content.* Or, just to throw off the whole system, make a few Baby Bat (and Honey Bee) videos 😂 I'm sure everyone would love seeing more of your fur babies simply being adorable little guys.
just wanted to leave a comment saying, i commend you for admitting to your mistakes or lack of understanding of the negative side effects of using AI openly and not getting defensive or aggressive about the original negative feed back. society as a whole needs to learn that it is okay to change your mind on something when you gain new information and i think you exhibited that very well in the beginning convo of your video
This whole look turned out wonderfully, love the way you tied everything together + stash projects are the best! a hat would be great, you could also do some matching belt bags that are stuffed to look like gunpowder bags? and maybe a bandolier and/or some belts around the chest, since you can't bring actual weapons to MDRF but want something "weapony"
Sticking the needle in backwards to thread the serger tails through is so smart! I got a serger a little while ago and am just now learning all the tips and tricks - definitely much easier than doing it pointy end first and trying to not snag anything!
I think the look is fantastic! I think you crunched at the end and maybe that is your misgivings, but honestly your color and fabric choices and design was absolutely gorgeous. You are very talented!
Maybe you could have sparkly “gunpowder” packets/tubes on a bandolier? Love how the outfit came out! Edit: ooo what about instead of a regular looking gun, you have a raygun?
You are amazingly skilled and talented and this outfit came out incredible! Could you please tell me where you found those big gold and silver balls you used on your chain accents? I've been looking for something like those forever but can't find them anywhere.
where do you find patterns for these projects - i have such a hard time finding what i'm looking for. Do you make adjustments to patterns you find to get a more customized final look?
preface that i don't use ai and i dislike its role in the modern economy, but the idea that using ai is especially non-ecofriendly is a misunderstanding- it uses about the same energy as using any other webpage, the *creation* of an ai is energy intensive but that has already happened and using an ai isn't going to be making it happen more. i understand that there are a lot of personal opinions on data training but i also think whether its final product constitutes "stealing" isn't so settled either- it doesn't store any of the images it's trained on, and the way it puts together images doesn't contain any components of real images it was trained on. either way i respect your decision! but i think its important to be well informed and this topic has just been warped a lot by how quickly it happened and how unusual the technology is.
A foam cannon backpack! Storage for your fair needs as well as more detail for the gunner position.
Or a black powder keg

Skyrate!! So cool 😎

A little gun powder pouch would look super cute!! Small and light so it won't add too much!! Looks amazing!! Loved the whole series!!!
I have never heard of that overlock stitch finishing thing before (usually just tie them in a knot and pray) so that was a handy thing to learn
Bubble cannon backpack!!

I still kind of think you needed a tricorn in the same blue and stars to go with it
Beautiful

I don't know if it's your vibe or in your skill tree, but I've been seeing crocheted weapons on Instagram. It's fake, but cute.
maybe a sparkly potion in a grenade shaped bottle
