So glad you ran into Squirrel again! I'm also so happy to hear that the comments help brighten their day. Squirrel, if you see this, you are a joy! 💜🩷💜🩷
Former Moresca employee here! Love the fit! Small correction- The dress you got is called a "velvet cape dress". The velvet hotcotte does not have the cape, but has short sleeves and a v neck. Moresca has several types of dresses in the same velvet fabrics, they're easy to confuse. (Their signage isnt the best, so it may have been mislabled.) They also have a long sleeve velvet cotte and a rennie cotte which is similar to the hot cotte but has cute pointed short sleeves. Most of their cottes are kept in plastic bags behind the counter and often arent displayed like the cape dresses are. They're all super comfy and versatile though! Cheaper than the cape dresses as well, I think they're around $110? (Granted I worked for them from 2008-2012 and I know their prices fluctuate with inflation.) I recommend trying them all if you're in the market for something like that. Also highly recommend the Sufi pants! They are amazing, especially for cold weather faires- you can wear sweat pants under them and stay so toasty warm! :) Moresca has warehouse sales a couple times a year btw- if you're a moresca fan or a hardcore rennie you might wanna check it out! they have discontinued designs, prototypes, and all their usual stuff too. Definitely check out the website!
Bit expensive but Moresca is super quality items. I have Sufi pants, two bodices, arm scarves? an embroidered bag and an over tunic So much love for them!!!
I've been to Moresca's warehouse sales in New York multiple times (my cousins live in Poukeepsie, right around the corner and we meet there for dress up time, lol). I've gotten some great items on a good sale there. Want to go back again for more!
My first renfaire was Ohio and it was all lil nerdy 16 year old me needed to feel validated in my weird kid existence in rural ky. My mom bought me my first bodice which was a big expense for us, and I made my own skirt for halloween at school that year so I could wear it. And now I’m sitting here watching this video (I’m 30 now) while making a Victorian riding corset (on the third mockup) because I was fortunate enough to have parents who supported my hobbies and interests. For renfaire last year I made myself a set of leather stays the night before because I wasn’t 100% comfortable in the outfit I had picked out to go with the moss-covered horns I made. I started them at 6 PM and finished ~4 AM (plus burnished the edges in the car otw there). It’s just such a special event and makes my crafter heart so happy. I feel so seen and grin the entire day.
Ohio was also my first renfaire!! We were probably there the same time!! I used to go in high school and early college and I’m a couple years older than you that’s so funny 🥰 aaah leather stays the night before is so ambitious very impressive haha
OMG Squirrel! I saw that we were doing the same premise as last year and thought "I hope we see Squirrel again" and we found her! These videos are so great - everyone keep up the fantastic work!
I love these kinds of videos! And that you're so transparent about prices and your budget throughout them! I think it'd be awesome for you and your friends to do another styling challenge ren faire video, and I think a theme that you, personally, could try is maybe "insert a fave anime character, but make it ren faire"
Omg, that's my favourite type of a video!! (I do know that you can't always post these videos on behalf of your wallet, buuuuut. I am happy whenever you upload one of them!!)
I don't have events like this in my country, so these are always my fav vids! definetly helping me prep just how much i'll end up spending when i do go haha
I love Squirrel! I went to the MD ren faire last year and she helped me try on the Alyssa vest but sadly they didn't have my size. Hopefully I can get one this season!
Love to see your new reinfaire video! In my place there is no medieval or renaissance theme festival or anything similar. I'm very happy to see your journey, it feel like I "walk" with you through the festival and feeling the atmosphere. I hope one day I can travel to another country and visiting a ReinFaire festival, it's my dream for years! I'm excited to see more of yours video 💖 Lots of love from Vietnam
This makes me excited for later this year, because I'm working on planning a trip for myself and a couple of local friends to visit another friend who lives in DC and all of us go to the Maryland ren faire for the first time!
I love that you got your bracers at Skapa Leather! My custom elf ranger bracers were made by Ginny and are so lovely and comfortable! Highly recommend! 😊
hot damn, the candle lady, Sterling (sorry if name spelt wrong), really thought of everything! I'm not someone who believes in that kind of healing but I would buy just to support. She seems so passionate!
Good Ren Faire clothes are not cheap. My two favorite vendors are Moresca and PennDragon. I enjoyed the Md Ren Faire for many years when I lived there. Now I live in Tx and attend TRF (biggest faire in the US) and Sherwood Forest Faire.
Ty!! Maryland really has amazing vendors, they’re one of the few I’ve been to that bans mass produced items and it really makes all the vendors so unique!
There isn’t much RenFaire content so I found your channel because of that specifically when I was trying to fill the hole in my heart between seasons. Glad to see another video supporting the artisans, and the joy of finding good pieces at renfaire is palpable.
Love these walkthroughs and seeing your different outfits. I'm in California and our faires look so much different, so it's fun to see the set up and vendors from other parts of the country. And thank you for linking to the places your purchased from - I will check them out!
That bag!! So cute!!! I'll be honest, I miss your sewing videos, but I'm also here for Ren Faire madness too! Squirrel is awesome!! I made plans for the Ren Faire near me with a friend and I'm getting *ideas* 😂
oh god this is making me want to go here this year... and make my own costume bc i do NOT have that kind of money as much as i would love to spread the love to all the artisans 🤣
Love the AC vibe! You’re just missing some daggers or something… I’ve seen bracers with little daggers attached and that’s probably what I’d look for personally but love the overall look! Glad you finally found something that worked for you at Potomac! Given me some ideas. Thanks!
I will be going to a ren faire this year (for the first time in a loooong time) because of your videos (this one especially…). I was so excited about seeing you put together an outfit and immediately started thinking about how I would create one. Started the process of collecting pieces and talked about it with a coworker, who’s going every year and was asked to come along. I am incredibly happy to have found this video (and with it you and your content) and to be looking forward to making my own ren faire memories thanks to your creation 🥰🥰❤️ Have a good one ❤
Would love to see a kind of court jester style outfit put together, especially as it's not the kind of thing youre as likely to see, I love the colour block top at 13:11
I saw so many of my friends in this video! In the foreground and the background 😄 That's delightful 😊 My fave tavern there is the Wine Garden. Did you know you can mix and match any parts of your drink there? This year, some of my friends mixed blueberry wine and pumpkin ale. They also have a wine cocktail menu ;) Thanks for making this video!
I love the ren fair. I try to go to my state's fair every year. I'm actually headed there this weekend! I have a full ren costume, but I'm going in a Victorian costume this year and I'm hoping to get some things there to make it a bit more steam punkish. The fair I go to, Tennessee fair, has several people that do steam punk style things, which is always so cool.
I love all the different creative ways you style your pieces! really helps me envision how to make more use of the pieces i already have (plus encourage me to drool over Moresca even more HHHHHH). the final outfit is lovely!!!
what a great outfit you put together! i think the combination of hiked dress with pouffy pants is something i'm going to try this summer when the sun gets really harsh. and thank you for showing that some stalls have really good ventilation (something I look for, too) and that maybe popping on a mask for the stalls that don't might be a good idea.
Love your videos. I went to my first Ren Faire last year and bought a Pirate outfit and also joined one of the local guilds. The Faire here in Las Vegas is a lot different then the ones you have gone to.
I have food limitations so I can't say from experience, but I've heard that the best food at MD Rennfest is the Steak on a stake, the baked potatoes, the soup bowls. I've heard really good things about the rice bowls too but I think they're newer?
Your outfit turned out so cute!!! Props to you for rocking an awesome outfit in that heat. Its SO hot in the beginning of the season. They really need to push that faire back into the colder months so we can dress more comfortably! lol I can't wait for MD ren fest this year & to see what fits you come up with next
I would absolutely love if you came and got your hair done at the hairsticks booth at Maryland this year!!! I'm the manager there and I love your videos
I'm so in the mood fornren faire. The one I'm my state starts up in about 2 weeks. I'm currently making an Italian renaissance style gown that I plan to debut there
Faire season! I haven't gone in ages due to health problems, but I am determined to try to go this year. In the fall when it is cooler and maybe I can lose a little weight as most of my outfits are too small for me now. Might be fun putting together a plus size outfit for myself. Love Moresca and totally love that Bullseye shirt!
Love you channel. Found it while trying to find out about the maryland ren faire because I'm going for the first time in a few weeks. I also just found out about another maryland faire called Oakenmist. Do you attend that show and make videos there?
12:44 The turkey leg I had at Epcot tasted like ham… the most off-putting thing in the world (obviously not, but y’know) and I couldn’t finish it, and I LOOOOOOOVE turkey. Very sad😔
So glad you ran into Squirrel again! I'm also so happy to hear that the comments help brighten their day. Squirrel, if you see this, you are a joy! 💜🩷💜🩷
I love her! Hope she sees these comments and knows her positive energy is appreciated

@@EilonwyG Lucky!
@@benjalucian1515 Pricey Yes. But they last which the cheaper stuff often does not. I have quite a bit of Moresca stuff and it's all still fine.
Squirrel is the GOAT! So happy to see her in your video this year!
Omg hi Squirrel!! It's lovely seeing all the same vendors again haha

squirrel saves the day once again! I love how attentive and nice she is
The lady saying " all the glitter" has my soul. 😂

last year's video is what got me started watching this channel
Hi Squirrel!!! Saving the day again... loving the whole outfit, Minji!
Squirrel is adorbs
Might I say, how much I loveee the blue dress with the cape??
It was on top of my to buy list so I probably would’ve tried to work it into any theme haha
Squirrel is so cute! I love her!
I love that you got your bracers at Skapa Leather! My custom elf ranger bracers were made by Ginny and are so lovely and comfortable! Highly recommend! 😊
I love this and Squirrel is a delight! I hope that I have the pleasure of running into her one day. She is so fun.

As soon as I noticed the lost boys shirt, I knew this was going to be a good video

So fun and all the people are so kind. Ren Faire’s are so surprisingly wholesome.
Love squirrel!
I’m going next week and have been going for years to the md faire. I got giddy recognizing the land :)
I'm so early! Excited to see what you put together, and I appreciate your ethos of supporting artisans. I wish the Ren faire near me went this hard.
Ty!! Maryland really has amazing vendors, they’re one of the few I’ve been to that bans mass produced items and it really makes all the vendors so unique!
the shot at 1:36 would look perfect with your final outfit omg
