Great roller lesson, especially for beginners to get some distance!....the angle control is very important......and with more and more practice, the roller is so effective!....thank you for this lesson!!!!
Great video. Been FH rolling for years, in the woods with tight fairways is my preferred shot. Windy days, open fairways not recommended, unless tail wind. Woods, FH Rollers are skinny shots and hard to miss the initial gaps. Discraft Flick is my go-to disc, the disc just stays up. I get to the ground quicker, at about 1230-100, definitely focus on landing. Learn short range and rescue shots first, seems like one is kneeling allot when you are doing them.
I'm used to being off the fairway in the woods so forehand rollers come in handy way more than I'd like lol. When they work out you feel like a pro. Flick would be a good one with all of that stability! Thanks for watching
I'm on your wavelength with the closer landing... My go-to is a Tesla. (I waffle on with a lot more useful/useless info in a comment in the main body of this comments section. (ok 11 months late but may still be of interest))
If im throwing that super straight short roller with the pig I find its a lot better to just throw from a knee so you take a lot of the variability of the wind out of it, get it rolling sooner. This works really well when you need to split a gap too because there isnt much side to side play as there is throwing from normal head height

@@robdowns9339 You can also throw a backhand but on the OTHER side of your head (i.e bottom of the disc to the side of your head, on the same side as your throwing arm.... It's a little awkward, but can be easier than a thumber... Try low speed and land only 5-10ft away.. Actually a forehand WRONG HAND roller is easier than you think... The "I throw like a girl" (and into the ground) style you throw a tennis ball when trying to use the wrong hand... is actually close to the actual mechanics you want to use... i throw an overstable Katana that my brother gave me. i call it my sawblade. i can rip a forehand roller 300 plus for sure. the crazy ones might just keep going past 400 its easier to miss tree trunks than tree branches!
Best roller video I've seen - hands down. Thank you for sharing this!!
Excellent video. I throw quite a few back hand rollers and will now work on the forehand. Thank you.
They are lots of fun to throw, and can be very useful.
There are many more uses for forehand rollers.
Thanks so much! 👍
Really well done. Thank you
Very helpful and opened the door to the effectiveness in certain, limited window situations for sure. Thanks!
Thank you, hope you can start utilizing it. It's a great shot to have, but there is a time and place for it.
Glad it helped you Mike 👍

Thanks so much! Yeah once you have them down it's a weapon, and it's opens up many more possibilities on a course. Glad you liked it.
It's all about practice, practice, and more practice!!....and that hinged hang with the snap!
awesome tutorial, teacher, and demonstration
What a compliment, thank you!
Glad you liked it.

Good advice, I think the pig might be one of the best roller discs. Specifically for close range touch and accuracy. Thank you
TY, my furthest throws have been accidental rollers. Really want to practice and become competent with them (both backhand and forehand).

will a thumber forehand roller burnout right instead of left?
Yes, thumber finish left. Need to get it to ground quicker, hard to get spin, so the shape is half moon.
