- Two award-winning chefs take on the rotisserie chicken challenge. Aretah Ettarh, chef de cuisine at Gramercy Tavern, and Charlie Mitchell, executive chef and co-owner of Clover Hill, turn a grocery store chicken into a restaurant-worthy chicken salad. Ettarh serves her chicken salad sandwich on a hero roll with homemade mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, radish, and avocado. Mitchell builds his chicken salad on a sourdough toast topped with green goddess dressing, avocado, Honeycrisp apple, and confit egg.

Wow. That mayo tip was great - she made it look so easy.
Lol bro speaking truth about brunch crowd
This is the culinary version of what Architectural Digest has done with inviting different talented interior designers to showcase their approach with a particular room.
I had a burger at the Gramercy Tavern once and it was easily the best burger in my life, so I'll give this chicken recipe a try even though I'm not a huge fan of chicken
Did Charlie Mitchell use whole bottle of oil for a salad?!
My man used a liter of olive oil for half a sandwich and half a salad
Okay, I thought it was just me but that was CRAZY.
Yes this is called French cooking
That's why restaurant food tastes so good (and is so unhealthy). Tons of oil and butter .
well, the point is that he’s showing off a technique. If he was at a restaurant, that same oil would get used to make 100 sandwiches and salads i’m sure.
@@GaetanLloyd those bread slices soaked a quarter liter of oil
"I don't have any disrespect for that show, but I don't need that in my life" on The Bear was the subtlest/loudest flex ever lol
Aretah Ettarh killed it!
Lady wins !
both got nice hold on kitchen stuff
the chef’s voice is so calming 😊
I want to try Aretah's sandwich!
Looks delicious!
now i want chicken salad for lunch
I've always wanted to do this. I always buy grocery store chicken salad. ALDI and Publix have wonderful chicken salads which I eat with saltines. Not the same without saltines.
Charlie seems like he'd be a blast at parties.
molto bravo
Steeling your knife isn’t sharpening it just straightens the blade!
more videos i this format. it was great.
however, the cutting back and forth was a bit challenging
If you like Charlie, go watch his restaurant's Mise En Place episode at Clover Hill
Sandwich sounds nicer tbh
Yummy!
Thank you for sharing this great video! Thank you chef's for showcasing your recipes and techniques on creating my favorite comfort food! Chicken salad rules! Cheers!
Aretah!!!!!! I love ya!
Loves me some Charlie M!!! 💚💚💚
..this makes me think of: Peruvian rotisserie chicken!.
Anyone who cores the tomatoes is great!
Core a tomato I crazy. And yes. I am a chef.
HOAGiE !!!!
yup phillysh!+... damn her sandwich look delicious
It’s great you two are taking the time out to show everyone how to cut aRotisserie chicken. It’s great how you took your time, out to show everyone step by step on how do it right.
Both sandwiches looked good but id swap out the hero bread for whole wheat on the 2nd one
my man uses all the different techniques to add no additional flavor that the girl's sandwich didn't achieve with like a quarter of the effort.
These two players acting like they don't hit Costco for half their menu ingredients
BOOK an APPOINTMENT at your Cardiologist after that much OIL !!! both !!
how much did blackrock pay for this video?
Every food stream needs to up there game. There getting out watched buy fat guys eating 19 sausages. Get you act together. That goes for bon appetit and food insider too.
I think while this guy was deboning the chicken, he also accidentally removed his own funny bone.
He's a pretty cool dude watch his mise en place. He also has to focus on quality
i guess hes a real chef, because he didn't finger the pickles.
Male chef = Wayyyyy too much oil 😮🙄🫣
That's Costco rotisserie chicken. How about a little credit where credit is due.
There frozen off the truck...😂 stop it😂
@@juiceplanet147
No, they literally are not.
Hell yeah! recognized that Costco Rotisserie immediately
@@juiceplanet147 You've obviously never been to a Costco and seen the huge rotisseries at the back of every store cooking away. BTW, Costco loses some $35-40 million dollars per year selling their chickens as a loss leader to drive traffic to their stores. Same with their $1.50 hot dogs.
Even if u were correct COSCO is not paying them to promote their chicken. IM SURE they PAID for their food so they can do what they please with it. COSCO didnt sponsor this video
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😘😘😘😘😘💚💚💚💚
who eats a salad for breakfast, wtf
Huh? What? That comment about the bear. Shut up 🙄🙄
Why dont you just eat the chicken right away? Its a finish product..
Too much salt
Why does the guy seem like he hates himself? The woman is cool though
I can't trust a man who puts apple in chicken salad, i'm sorry
I'm a be harsh here and say I'm not the slightest bit impressed. Like I actually feel I can do just as well or even better and I have zero training as a chef. Much love from Belgium ☺️
these are not michelin-level chefs lol
Wft are you talking about check there restaurants.
@@muroki302exactly! Idk what they are talking about!
This is the first disappointing video from Eater. I really don't like this switching back and forth between chefs as it makes it difficult to follow what they are doing. If your only purpose here is to entertain then I can watch the Food Network, but if you want o teach, educate and expand the our minds to try something new then the focus needs to be on the execution of the recipe. We never need to look at any chef's face if he/she is doing something with their hands.
As for the recipes... confit eggs? Not even if I was bored.
You are so obviously white and bland
I could do without all the profanity. Maybe screen the guest cooks more carefully. Anyway, these chickens can be good mixed into other stuff but they are brined to the point of being disgustingly salty. You really need to mix it with something more neutral in flavour. And I did like the salad the guy made but honeycrisp apples are just sugar, I would use an apple with a bit more complexity. Perhaps a jazz or even gala apple, anything to get a little bit of tartness to balance the sugar and intense salt.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO HOW MUCH SALT THE LADY USE IN MAKING HER CHICKEN SANDWICH, WAY TOO MUCH SALT 💯🤨😲
Red rings of death 🍅 🤢
woke? BLM?
are you stupid
Are the chefs supposed to be non black?
No, it's not about BLM and wokeness. If you knew their backgrounds instead of focusing on the color of their skin, you would have known that they run Michelin-starred restaurants.
Just boring
The video or you?
Thats why men get paid more
Why didnt these Chefs get their own videos like the white guy?
Well one has the personality of a utility pole and presence of a floor mat for starters
