  • We test and evaluation the many features packed into the P9 from Kahr Arms. An excellent choice for carry for those individuals that prefer a larger grip and longer sight radius on a pistol. This P9 also comes with 3 magazines, (2) seven round and (1) eight round extended magazine.

Nice video sir,l bought a Kahr K9 for my son and after shooting it for its required breaking in to make it reliable well you know what straight out of the box l had no failure to feeds with any type of ammo fmj nor HP bullets no failure to eject either. And the trigger pull is like my 70's S/W model 27 double action trigger pull. The pistol grip feels exactly like my Browning High Power GP competition..so ergonomic. The accuracy of this little 9mm impressed me so much that l bought a Kahr P9 for myself and again 100%reliable right out of the box and when Kahr came out with the P45 l bought it as well. All three pistols are finely made super reliable and super accurate but often overlooked by prospective buyers.Nice video!

P9 has been my EDC for about 8 years now and I love it. I got it by chance really I was carrying a Ruger SR9C at the time and didn’t like it as much as I thought I would and went looking for something slimmer to carry. Glock didn’t make a single stack at the time. The guy at the gun store gave the the P9 to fondle and I fell in love. I learned to shoot on revolvers and loved the trigger from the first dry fire in the store. I have ran many rounds through it over the years, Winchester WB, Tula and even reloads and it has proved every bit as reliable as my G17. Everyone that shoots it comments on how light the recoil is in that small gun too. To be able to fit a 3.5” barrel in that small footprint is impressive as well. I had a thought of trading it in for a G43 or G48 but quickly came to my senses 😂. I do see a Kahr ST9 or P45 in my future though.

I love my Kahr Arms firearms. The trigger, the ergonomics, the precision, the accuracy and the high quality won me over about three years ago.

Thank you for dropping the barrel when sweeping across the camera. As silly as it might seem to do that, I think it's important to model firearm safety at all times. My hope is that the abundance of good training and shooting videos out there like yours will overall continue to raise firearm safety awareness and best practices, and dispel all the hysteria as well.
I like the synth backing track also. Takes me back to the 70's.

I've been carrying a Kahr P9 (all black with night sights) for about 10 months now. I've put at least 500 rounds (probably way more) through it. I really like it. I previously carried a Ruger LC9 (heavily modified) and was never in love with it. I carried a Sig 232 before that. I much prefer the P9.

Nice video. Thoroughly debating between this and the K9. The K9 feels amazing in the hand with nice rubberized grips, but there is the weight to think about. Thanks for making this even tougher, lol.

Interesting, the grip was one of the things that attracted me to the P9 stablemate, the CW9. Not just a little longer, it's also a little fuller without being too fat for my IWB holster. Very comfortable to shoot, even at its light weight. I like the feel of the grip much better than my LC9 or Shield. And it's an apples to apples comparison since I have Talon Grips on all of them.

Also Kahr says cast bullets are OK for their polygonal barrels whereas Glock does not at least when l got my kahrs.Again these pistols are super firearms and the CM9 /P9 are great for those with CCW.

Hi, thanks for the great videos. I am looking for a very comfortable, small, concealable and accessible IWB AND pocket holster for my Kahr p9 covert gun (original model). I also have the streamlight tlr-6 light attached to it. I don't need a holster that can take the tlr-6 but it would be a bonus if it did. I live in Florida so it will be hot most of the time. I would like to wear it with jeans and shorts.
Which holsters do you recommend for both pocket and IWB carry? See below for ones that I found that work with the P9. Also are there any that you would stay away from?
    IWB:
Crossbreed Freedom Carry IWB, Desantis Pro Stealth Nylon, Sof-Tuck 2.0 or Tuck-This II, Theis Single Clip Holster or EZ-Clip Holster, Little Foxx IWB Hybrid, Houston ECO leather, Whitehat MaxClip Hybrid IWB Obsidian, highnoon hidden impact, MTR Tuckable Adversary (A-3A), MxCarry Tuckable Leather, mitchrosen clipper express or Vedder LightTuck Kydex IWB
    Pocket:
DeSantis Nemesis or Superfly, Galco Pocket Protector, High Noon pocket grabber, MTR Front Pocket Holster (B-7), Alabama Front Pocket or Sticky Holster
    .
Here are the dimensions of the kahr p9 covert:
    Length: 6-inches
    Height: 4-inches
    Barrel: 3.5-inches
    Weight: 16.9-oz

I wanted to see more of a comparison of the P9 with the CM9 to include the "Gen2" features, primarily the new trigger. Have you done such a video?

Did Kahr provide you with this gun to review? Seems like Kahr's quality control isn't as good as the other major brands. The chances of getting a keeper vs. a lemon sounds like a toss up based on the research we've done. Would love to have a PM9 because of the size and weight but aren't willing to take a chance on them yet.

If you're concerned with hollow point ammo and feeding issues try Corbon PowRBall. I love it

      I prefer HST 147gr or DPX 115gr+P
As for the P9, I like it... There is an issue with Kahr ergos and thats the slide lock/release. Its sharp. Left my thumb with a blister shooting w/o gloves the first couple times. I recommend a little diy fix and just smooth its outside edges with a file and then rough sand paper. After that felt perfect. Been my light clothing and cc gun for about three years now. Also like the s&w shield but prefer the longer grip and slide/sight radius of the p9, so might buy another in a few years. Well see, but when you find a useful gun you like might as well get two.

I used Corbon PowRBall in my Walther PPK and it resulted in a bulged barrel and damage during a rapid fire shoot. I had to send it back under warranty for repairs. Bottom line, I don't trust PowRBall in any of my guns. Also, never experienced any concerns with hollowpoints in my Kahr T9, P9 or TP45 during break-in and proficiency shooting. Did have mag-drop issues with the TP45, switched hands during qualifier, but found the problem persisted - Mag release button? Didn't get that resolved before selling the aforementioned to pay for the wedding somehow. Damn.
