• Some basic points related to the concept of stress : 1. Mechanical stress is the internal resisting force acting inside body on response to external force in order to cause the body in structural equilibrium. 2. It is something like pain on response to external damage (Force causes deformation & deformation cause the stress). 3. Stress is felt also when there is no external force but because of internal structural resistance & even there is no significant noticeable deformation. (Generally, these category of stresses are called residual stress). 4. Stress occurs in two ways - i. Stress at a point. ii. Stress on a plane. Depends on the resisting area which exposes to load if that tends to zero or very small then stress feels at like a point & it is continuous point to point. While if it gets distributed over some finite size area then its average effect is represented as stress on plane. 5. Stress is continuous distribution of internal pain effect on resistance to external force which has any behaviour whether being a constant value or variable value. 6. Body may deform or fail only because of induced stress on response to external imposed force which causes structural changes to ensure equilibrium & even if equilibrium is there body may or may not recover to its original shape. 7. Always strain occurs first & then stress & both are interconnected by the properties called modulus related to various dimensions which are completely material properties. 8. Even if external force is same, induced stress is same, two bodies of different materials may not be deformed with same amount. 9. Stress is a tensor quantity. It can be possible that it is directional or non-directional or multi directional based on direction & orientation of area relative to distributed load on response to external force. 10. Stress is very general but strength is very unique to a particular body. Strength is generally defined in two ways - i. Strength corresponding to permanent set in shape change. ii. Strength corresponding to complete failure in disastrous manners in the forms like breakage in pieces, exploding pieces, etc.
There is a very important point my dear sir has mentioned (time 10:05 minutes). - force must be applied on both side to feel/see/observed the stress phenomenon. If we applied force on one side it will move.

Aap jis trah explain karte h concept wah kaafi ache se samjh me aa jata h 👍🏻 aur interesting bhi lgata h😇, Lakin sirf formula se padhna wah thik nhi lgta 😵 Experiment se formulas banate h, formula se sirf learn nhi kiya jata.
