    In khurmi (som & Md), it is given that rivet will fail in shear if shearing resistance is more than applied load.
    How ? Please suggest.

    If external force acting on a material is 5N and that material can only resist 2N. What will be the shear force? Will it be 5N, 2N or 5-2=3N?

    Could please let me understand if shear force and shear stress are equal and opposite then a beam or part will never break. I would like to understand when shear force will be more than shear stress and part will break.
