    This is the best interpretation of GT3 touring that never existed on this model, for the price I clearly choose the CSR an old school driver focused machine. Plus it has the signature setup by Tim Harvey just that makes it even more special.

    I totally agree with you about the torque of this engine. If you check the power curves from Porsche you see that the 3.8 engine has more power up to 5000rpm, than any 911 GT engine (even the 4.0). That makes this car vastly more suitable for a road car than any GT3.

    Very cool car. Love seeing 997 love. Best platform IMO. Had a decked out 997.1 S with a conservative 380ish HP. Sold it for a 997.1 GT3. Night and Day difference. The 3.8 had more low end torque, but ran out of steam quickly. IMS and bore scorinf madr me nervous. The Metzger is on a whole different level. You do need to rev it, but the sound from 5k to redline with exhaust is perfection. Just need to pin the coolant lines. I would choose GT3 all day everyday and glad I did 7yrs later. Now I just wish I went RS.

      If you aren’t wanting to tie up the $ necessary for a GT3, how close would a 997.2 S with bolt ons compare to a .1 GT3? No track use, just spirited canyon driving. No IMS or bore score concerns with .2 9A1 motor.

    The 80/20 rule applies to this one.
    80% of the viewers can probably afford a 997, because it’s 20% of the cost of what they’re showing here. But, crucially, it will still provide 80% of the fun.
    Ok, I agree, I’m not being overly accurate, but the numbers are not far off.
    Porsche 997, still one of the used sports car market’s best secrets.

    • @uewyryyre
      @uewyryyre 2 года назад +1

      It's probably more like 20% of viewers that can actually spare $30-40k on a used sports car (as much of a relative bargain the 997 is) presuming the audience is American. For example, the real median personal income average of 2019 (not average household income) in the US is below $40k which makes it quite unaffordable for most here.

      lol funny question
      1st Porsches don't actually hold their values as alot of ppl claim!! "what do I mean" well watch cars being used & the prices drop alot compared to list pricing, however a low mileage. barely used example go for high prices & its from that where ppl claim porsche hold their values.....however the older more desirable, limited examples do show signs of added value.
      CSR branding via RPM isn't a well established brand ie like stinger, most work carried out is cosmetic & basic suspension/engine upgrades ie bolt-on's, I believe this car has a blue printed engine which was carried-out after the CSR customisation via a Porsche specialist
      & adding more salt to the wounds I also believe this car has been listed for months, so would you splash-out & buy the car?!?! as others seem to be avoiding it!
      Edit side note Henry Catchpole driven this exact car still for sale via RPM 12months ago. he film this car in Feb 2020.. so good value to a high-mileage modified C2S Porsche... "hmmm" seems like alot of money thrown at a car & its not held any value.

    hmmm its a nice car, but does the previous owner think it was worth it since he's lost alot of money from buying the car to carrying out the custom spec on what's basically a basic Porsche model. on an older model I could understand it as it'd bring the car back to life & give great feed back to any driver.. however to a car that's still pretty much modern, why throw such amounts of cash at the car...
    adding to that I'm sure other Porsche owners/driver maybe think the same as the cars now been for sale for over a year without shifting to anyone
    not being a kill joy, but wasn't it required by law to have airbags fitted to all road going cars earlier then 2005 (the year this car was registered) not only that but for MOT's it would fail as its again required to have a airbag fitted.... so from a chew on for a car this would become such every year.... the only up shot is the rear belts being removed & the seats also being deleted so that's covered but the wheel isnt...
    so hmm nice car but not worth the money even as a customised example & everyone knows a customised car isnt worth the value of the parts added.. so looking at other C2S examples with similar high miles (120K) you'll actually find these cars £40K over stock examples with legitimate mileage.. yes RPM list this car on auto trader as having 10.5K miles.... some 110K less then it really has! you can even check its MOT history to confirm such "now wonder why it hasn't sold"
    sorry for the bad news!

    • @malp6280
      @malp6280 3 года назад +1

      @@PerformaIT I cant agree with you.. ppl these days are scared of driving GT3/RS's all cars loose value with the more miles they get on them, that goes for the unlimited GT3 & limited RS models... however most modern day owners don't own them to enjoy for lengthy periods as their taking advantage of finance deals... ie drive them for s short period & then get rid, hoping not to have lost money.
      these ppl are usually the ppl who cant actually afford the cars 'overall'
      this example has hand over £100K thrown at it & its lost a fortune & no-one is touching it, as its mis-advertised ie wrong mileage & its the most expensive & highest mile version on the uk market. compare that to a gen1 rs & its easy picking RS all day long & you'll even get some change compared to the CSR version.
      ppl these days by high end sport cars for the "look at me factor & innit for a quick quid" factor rather then to actually purely & simply enjoying the car, as per older generations ie.. look at used 356's.. older RS & GT3.. even look at F40's the list goes on, ppl enjoy them its pretty common to see a F40 with 20K+ miles.
      this current car a 120K mile car even with modification's isn't worth half its list price & no it wasn't a full restoration as per upload, it was a bare metal respray, suspension upgraded, engine recently blueprinted & basic cosmetic changes..
      then look at standard 2S cars low mileage 40K & less I'm sure someone would rather do a CSR custom job on one of those & still save a fortune on this car.
      I however understand modifying vehicles but this as an example, ultimate it's at the upper end of being stupidly expensive & would require more work sooner as compared to other examples
      not forgetting the CSR brand hasn't really taken off that well, as its also mixed with alot of controversy with the main brand RPM Technik
