I have been fighting with a huge cupboard door for the past 20 mins trying to get the hinges to 'snap on' now i know how to do it simply. Wish ikea made better instructions!

Generally, a good job; liked the fact that you talked thru it explaining. However, had to go elsewhere to verify that I had put the clips correctly into the holes; next time you might consider showing those up close for 10 seconds and explain how to tell is you've placing them in the correct direction. Also, anyone having trouble easily clicking the hinges into place - be sure the screws holding the two pegs in place that hold the hinges are totally screwed down or they won't have room to catch and click into place.
Im still messing around with mine. not sure if I clicked the base in correctly. I've screwed the screws in all the way and hinge would not click in so maybe I put it in back wards. Back downstairs I for attempt #3!!

HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR HINGES? I discovered 3 of the 8 hinges I had were faulty. I bought new hinges and they snapped in just like the video. Don't waste hours trying to get hinges to fit if they don't. The hinges are probably bad!

Guys, if you have trouble on step 7-8 (attaching the door) and it doesn't click - you probably like me made mistake on step 5. Arrow on the part supposed to look on door (as it kinda seen on step 7)
Very useful. Found those dampers on my cabinets and had no idea how to reach the adjusting screws. I would add that it's easiest to remove the damper by pulling the plastic part away from the surface, not by pulling the middle part.
I cannot get the 125 utrusta on. You made it look so easy.
It is easy! make sure the plate on the cabinet is installed correctly.
If you didn't get it exactly right the first time odds are you've bent the catches/tips out of shape. That's why mine wouldn't go back onto the hinge.
The non-90 degree tip/foot/hook, (not displayed very clearly in this video here) is easily squished out of shape under pressure. It needs to be 'basically' pointing 90 degrees up, (then hooking around another 'basically' 90 degrees around then down) and the two claw feet need to be 'exactly' 90 degrees so they all three slot into that neat little rectangular hole.
I used a trousers coat hanger to help add the sustained pressure needed straighten the tips. I could also have used the blunt edge of a large pair of scissors (I didn't want to scratch a butter knife with it). After each retry you may have to re-straighten because *ungh*. I don't like forcing things because it can weaken the metal but frankly that had already happened with the stress-fail and they should design things better than this.
I remember the carpenter saying he had to get a few new ones because they were too loose, but darn this one was too tight.
I couldn't fit the pieces together - my problem was the screws were not all the way in on the inside of the cabinet and were blocking the doors from being able to snap in - make sure the screws are not sticking out on the inside of the cabinet part

That's nice if you are installing them in predrilled ikea cabinets. But what if you are installing them on other un-drilled cabinets? need dimensions like where to drill the mortise from the edge of the cabinet door and how far back from the edge of the cabinet (side) to mount the second piece.

It's one of those videos that makes you feel an idiot. But in fact there are two ways to put it and he doesn't mention or show. Really NOT cool.

Finally got it. thanks. Other problem is I can't align the cabinet drawer using the 153 Utrusta Hinge. I've tried the two screws it shows to no avail. Will buy another and see if that's my problem. Need a good video on door alignment. hint, hint

Can anyone tell me the measurements for attaching the other part of the hinge to the side of the cabinet - not to the door? I am putting Ikea doors on a non-Ikea cabinet and am not sure where to drill the holes. Thanks.

My ikea hinges were different, with a black outer expansion ring on the two pegs, which after an hour of fussing never fit into the holes like they were supposed to, leaving me with 2 useless hinges. Now I've got to go out and buy something compatible, hopefully with an actual screw, because hey, a couple of tiny screws are soooo hard. Oddly enough, the other cabinets have different hinges.. Never again ikea for me. The big box stores generics are not that far off the price and frankly the quality of the ikea leaves me a tad frightened
I just put my cabinet together and turns out the doors don't come with hinges,nor do the cabinets . Wonderful ,now it's a special trip 3 hours away,to get the stupid hinges that should have come with the Doors.
lame, that is a pain. In defense of IKEA, the door fronts can be used in different applications with and without hinges and there are at least two types of hinges.
just wanted to mention that the thing that attaches to the door, the part thft looks like a book closes super tightly. Don't hurt yourself!

problem i have is in my diy i installed thw cabinet too close to the wall. now when i open the door, it just pops open and door falls down. is there anything could be done here

Can't change them either because I can't get them off without damaging the wood...
I have cabinet over the sink, so it is horizontal. Not vertical as you show in the video. My door has strut supports in addition to soft closing hinge. So I try to replace the hinge which is really difficult task. I am not sure if I have to remove the strut first or not. Can you give a hint how to replace the hinge?

Thanks so very much for this video. The Ikea sales guy missed my request for soft closing hinges when I ordered my kitchen over a year ago at the end of the old product. Now they basically tell me to get lost, I have to buy new kitchen cabinets to get the new hinges. I think not. Any ideas on retrofitting the Utrusta hinges on the old cabinets? Thanks. PS $10,000 for a kitchen set and that is their after market help.
+Russ Hall If I'm correct... the dampers work on the old hinges, they are universally compatible.. did you buy a pack and test them? They look identical to me. You can always use the new hinges on the old cabinets, you just have to drill holes for the base plate part to screw into. (make a jig... at the store... then take it home to drill your holes!)

What is the purpose of the 153 degree hinge? Is it only used to swing door all the way because of drawers?

unscrew it completely then gently pry under underneath the bracket, then pull out the plastic inserts with a needle nose plier.

Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. We couldn't get the middle hinges to snap on for either of the end units. They went right on top and bottom and on the middle units. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? They still work with two hinges, but better all three.
I have trouble with that too. It turned out I had not tightened the screws enough (on the little part that attaches to the cabinet that the hinge snaps onto). The incompletely-tightened screws were interfering with the hinge snapping down.

sorry, does not make sense, if the damper works on other doors then the damper is good, if it fits on the bad door, I don't think there is anything that can be bad about the hinge

So why do the hinges have screw holes on the door? Would you recommend using screws ? Or are they completely unnecessary.
no screws needed or recommended, I think they are only for alignment of the hinge

I suggest and always fit them first so you have clear access, then just snap them off or pull them out when you put on the bench top, or counter top.

If you're having trouble closing the flap on the door part of the hinge, same here, and I'm using my full weight on it. Just about ready to throw in the towel.
Installing interior UTRUSTA drawers inside of a cabinet with doors...the doors do not close properly because the UTRUSTA interior drawers do not close completely in the cavity....have soft closers on but not sure what the problem is.
good timing... I just installed some interior maximera drawers, the slides need to be mounted correctly, they are set back into the cabinet by one screw hole. not flush to the edge of cabinet.
Thank you - got it figured out...not impressed with the "new" line btw. The cheap metal straps across the top do not look as if they could hold granite. There is also much wasted space since the hinges compete with the drawer space. We might look into some of IKEA's competitors for our sixth kitchen remodel. Thx again!

You are not truthful about those soft close add-ons. They are NOWHERE near that easy to attach. And if you remove them that easily, you did not install them correctly. Hence why you didn't show the door operating
Do they make two different kind of dampeners? I cannot get mine on and I tried it won’t go in the whole...my cabinets were installed 10 yrs ago, and I just bought the dampeners today. Wondering if they changed the sizes of the clips that goes in the hinge hole.
they did change the hinges a couple years back, I thought the dampers where the same, but maybe not....
Hi..I have put it all in,but cant click it on, I hear you say something must face outwards,but I cant see what it is?, When I look at the 4 I have, it seems there is a little arrow on them, and 3 of mine are pointing in wards and 1 outwards, but I cant figure out what to change, can you help me please?

Unclip the hinge from the cabinet, then partially unscrew the hinge mounting plate, about 75%, then use a flat blade screwdriver and gently pry the plate off the cabinet so you take the plastic pieces (the things that the screws go in to) with the plate.

I have no problem understanding Ikea's instructions. My problem is that the cover flaps won't push down, even when using my full weight on them. I never had this problem with my old Faktum cabinet hinges, so no idea why these Method hinges are proving to be so difficult to fit. I'm beginning to wish I'd never bought these Method cabinets, I really am.

My Sektion door cabinet isnt flush from where the hinge meets running across from left to right. The door is sticking out at the part closest to the hinge. It sits flush on the opening side, but on the hinge side ot protrudes out. Why?
