There are two songs from the magic album that aren’t in any live sets bc Freddie simply couldn’t reproduce the vocals live; they are ‘gimme the prize’ and ‘princes of the universe’ and are probably the heaviest queen ever went. Gimme the prize is my personal favourite bc Freddie absolutely rips and tears his way through the vocal part 💀. Also one of them has two guitar solos and one of them is a Brian May recreation of bagpipes with guitar harmonies so you have to love it

Both are a must hear really.

Gimme the Prize is when Queen turned into a mid 80's heavy metal band for one time in their career.

It’s one of those songs that was really for concerts where the audience can join in.

About Queen's whole Budapest concert - " Three years before the Berlin Wall fell, this was the first live performance by a stadium-league Western European rock band behind the Iron Curtain".
& one more bit of info on a piece you'll not cover. "Freddie and Brian performed their usual acoustic mini-set which included a big surprise. The singer broke out into a rendition of the traditional Hungarian folk song, Tavaszi Szél Vizet Áraszt (its title roughly translating as Spring Wind Floods Water)." _yep, he quickly learned to sing, IN Hungarian, a sweet song. Granted, he wrote the lyrics on his hand, but still, it was so thoughtful, quite lovely. The audience cheered & sang along.

Good ol’ John Deacon wrote this fan friendly Queen song! When performed live John’s face always “lights up” .. 😀 It was Freddie who encouraged John to try writing ✍️ turns out that he’s pretty darn good at it! Thank you for the Budapest live reactions!! 👑

The official video is so great and so much fun. You’d love it, and yes, much longer.

Just a snippet for the end of the concert, beautiful song, poppy, anthemic, to sing with the crowd... Hope you react to the rest of of their discography!!!

I remember hearing Brian - I think it might have been when he and Roger did a live commentary track on the Live at Wembley album when it was re-mastered many years later - being utterly shocked when it came to this part of the concert and it went from WWRY to Friends Will be Friends - he had completely forgotten that they did that.

Roger said the 86 tour was nearly perfect, but Freddie was overheard telling John during a heated argument, that he was not going to do this (live concerts) forever. Roger thought that maybe Freddie wasn't going to be able to tour again, no one knew what was actually going on at the time, but they knew something was wrong. The song is a little sweet song in my opinion.

One Vision is definitely better live as a song but the EXTENDED documentary video is fun to see them putting the song together. And the album version or video of Who Wants to Live Forever with full orchestra and choir is really good and different from the stripped down live version.

I saw Queen at Wembley stadium & Knebworth park in 1986 & thought Friends will be friends spoilt the flow of the show at the end of the concert. The song had a nice sentiment but I always preferred We will rock you straight into we are the champions. The studio version of friends will be friends is much longer on the album.

One Vision is actually a pretty awesome on record too, it rocks out quite hard. Same as Hammer to Fall. I would really recommend to check out both.
Yes, its true Queen did way more synth-bases pop songs in the 1980's (Radio Ga-Ga, I Want to Break Free, A Kind of Magic etc), but they could still play hard rock and when they did, it still sounded fantastic.
This one sounds almost identical on the record (though its of course longer), its also basically a "pop" song, but there's some nice guitar work from Brian throughout.
If you're still interested in doing full Queen albums, I really recommend "Innuendo", there's some epic stuff on that record.

Queen was trying to inject a little unpredictability and surprise into the same old routine of playing WWRY and WATC back to back, which they had been doing for 9 years by 1986 and everybody in the audience had come to expect.

No it’s not the whole track . OK is probably fair. The song was written with touring stadiums in mind.

John's legs are HOT! Best legs in the band, though I am intrigued by Brian's super long swizzlestick legs as well.

Here’s hoping you get back to the Queen studio albums
    Hot space
    The works
    A kind of Magic
    The Miracle
    Innuendo
    Made is Heaven
Cmon dude finish it off lol
(Ok maybe skip Hot Space but there is a few great songs on it)

You have said it, it's an okay song. Have you listened to Love of My Life in this concert? This song is always nice in the live version, with only Freddie and Brian on the guitar.

This is better than the recording tbh, bit cringe. Not their best.
One Vision is a good studio track, as is Who Wants to live Forever, both work live also.

Their decision but I always thought it was pure blasphemy to squeeze this mid song in between Rock You/Champions. I just really don't like the Queen live shows from the 80s.
