The mic could've easily been turned up in the middle of the song. It happens a lot in shows of any type that have microphoned (Idk if people use mic'd like my theatre group does so I'll go with microphoned) Sometimes they'll turn up one person's mic so they stand out more. Since Katherine is a main role they probably turned it up a bit in some parts so she'd be heard over everyone. It's normal. Plus if people don't really have anything important like lines and are just there for supporting voices and extra dancers they could possibly not be microphoned and that could also help with her voice standing out.
