Anderson.Paak was the one in the Super Bowl. Anderson is also the one singing the verses. Some have said he's harmonizing with Bruno on the verses, but to me it sounds more like he's harmonizing with one of the background singers than it does Bruno. I'd like to see them do it live so we can know for sure. Bruno is on the refrain (pre-chorus) and both are on the chorus.
Great review. I enjoyed every word! We're conditioned to compare, but both versions can stand side by side in their individual excellence. Saying that as someone who has had the song on every personal playlist since "82 when that "ring-a-ling only meant one thing!" LOL! Silk Sonic has amazing production values and respect for the genre. They put their mark on it without affecting the integrity of the original!

This was better than the original! The original might be harder in some parts but Silk Sonic cover was more heartfelt, sensual and meaningful!! And it is Bruno singing all the high notes! Both of them did great on their part and also unison!! The BEATS was also a badass in the music!! These fellas are going BIG!! Both their voices and tone was well balance in this Cover, Love it!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Uhm...that's a bit delusional lol. Hence they are COVERING the song. Bruno's vocals lack the soul and grit of the original singer. Nonetheless good, just not as rich vocally.

Michael Cooper was the lead on this song for Con Funk Shun and yes his grit makes the original THE ORIGINAL. However Anderson and Bruno makes this song their own without any damage to the original. The horns, ad libs, and the drum beats add much of the Silk Sonic flavor. Love it but it does not beat the original. Bruno's insane octaves elevate this song. I know Con Funk Shun is resurrected by this cover.

This was from GOOGLE : BRUNO MARS said he was influenced by artists such as Keith Sweat, Jodeci, and R. Kelly. As a child, he also took notice of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, New Edition, Bobby Brown, Boyz II Men, Teddy Riley, and Babyface. At the same time, he also listened to 1950s rock 'n' roll, doo-wop music, and Motown. And I know ... American blacks are the MOST imitated and studied culture swag on EARTH. But HATE because of color is killing us.
Bruno is lead and they both do the chorus. They did this song justice... I love both versions, but I am really feeling this one.

They did the song justice; however I like the original better. Michael Cooper's vocals on the song had that soulfulness, that flavor that you mentioned is what I feel is missing. @@TheMusicRecordingNetwork Likewise my brother stay safe but yeah I followed both for some years but Bruno got Bootsy to help him put this project together and if you ever seen the footage when they ask how they got together they have know each other for awhile and Anderson stated that Bruno approached him about a project that he was working on and asked him would he like to join him in it and he ask Bruno what was the project Bruno told him to just trust him and in the interview Anderson said he was a little blurry for a moment but he said since he has been doing Bruno and has opened for him he trusted him and that's how they became like a marriage made in heaven and Bootsy gave them the name Silk Sonic
You need to do a reaction Put on a Smile by Silk Sonic you would luv it both artist are great but remember Bruno has a very high crazy rage hitting those high notes but their voices together complete each other very well that's why the sounds so awesome together as a group but don't get me wrong they both sound great as a single artist
