so back when you uploaded this in June, were you able to select 2160p60 at the time?? I found this vid because 2 days ago, all of the sudden, a week old video of mine at 1080p60 mp4 all the sudden switched up to 1440p60 webm, i was very excited of course and started to search for other's vids and only found 2 or 3 others! including yours. My 1440p60 was on accident, however for some reason i can't do it again with other vids even if i encode them the exact same way. Did you mean to do this? or were you surprised like me? Also, Rouge Squadron on dolphin fuck yes! XD
What are your specs.. Please? It's amazing seeing it run 4K full speed. On my previous macbook pro that I just returned to apple cause the 16 came out soon after I bought it, with the 9880H 8 core, 32Gb ram and Vega 20 graphics, I could NOT get a stable frame rate with this game in Dolphin 5 (either in mac os or bootcamp) even playing at the 640x480 native gamecube resolution! Let alone daring to go to HD lol! The only thing I can think of is that it's an ATI driver issue maybe? I did dry direct 3d, direct x 11 and 12, open gl (horrible) and Vulkan (was the best).. My new 16" macbook with 8GB 5500M is coming, it has better thermals than the 15" and the graphics are the best a mac has ever had.. if that can't do it then I will have to put it down to the windows ATI driver.. I mean i *should* have been able to play it at native res FFS! With PPSSPP, I was able to max it out at 10x native res on that macbook, without a single frame drop.. In bSNES, I was able to max out the Mode 7 upscaling without a single frame drop.. Maybe it's a dolphin/ati issue and maybe with certain games only (this is what I wanted to play upscaled more than anything as my original gamecube disc looks shit on a modern massive TV even though I have the legit gamecube component cables).. I really have no clue.. PCSX2 worked great as well so I am just not sure why Dolphin was performing so poorly. Oh, redream was amazing, all the way to 4K as well.. Gamecube emulation is super important to me so if it's a real issue with ATI drivers, I guess I'll have to get an nvidia egpu for bootcamp:(.. But surely, a macbook 16", 8 core 9980HK, 64GB ram, 8GB ATI 5500M, should be able to play any emulator in bootcamp! I mean, seriously! I guess I'll find out in a few days. PS before anyone says why did you buy a macbook for gaming, I didn't.. I produce music and have used Logic Pro since day one which is now OS X only, so after 11 years from windows 95 through to XP I switched to mac in 2008. I happen to enjoy gaming in my spare time, particularly retro gaming more than anything.
@@ThaThree nope, still stutters in dolphin.. must be an issue with ATI.. my GFX card is the 8gb 5500M, equivalent to about a 1660 which is more than enough to play any game in dolphin, and I have 8 cores turboing to 4ghz.. the machine is great.. I have zero idea why and the driver is a new one just released.yet. just that one EMU causes issues. I can max out PCSX2, PPSSPP, Redream to their absolute max settings.. and play any RPCS3 game even in high res, if RPCS3 is at full speed with the game to begin with, that is. But not dolphin! LOL!
@@teddym2808 because its a mac ... my PC only has a 4 core ivy bridge processor and a gtx 670 and ddr3 8gb ram ,my PC is basically 2012/13 era and every game runs with no issues
@@girlsdrinkfeck Bullshit. I now have a top of the range Alienware 17" laptop with 8 core processor, 32Gb ram and a full speed nvidia 2080S. My processor hits 5ghz during dolphin with no thermal throttling whatsoever. I have the cpu and GFX in high performance mode. The problem is this game. You see, it works fine even at 4K and anti aliasing during the 3rd person view, but it's switching between views that it almost comes to a halt, even with ubershaders. This is what was happening with all other computers, and I considered that a part of the main game but I was mainly talking about switching views to cockpit. It performs precisely like it did on the mac. A mac is just a windows PC with a different OS, and I was running dolphin in Bootcamp which is native windows. PCSX2 is much more demanding than dolphin and that worked perfectly. The problem is that everyone that emulates this game never shows view switching and it tricked me, and those videos that DO show it is on a much older build of dolphin.. Ask the authors, this game performs much worse on dolphin 5 and onwards cause they changed the code and it's known to crash and stutter like crazy even on the most powerful systems. It was never anything to do with my computer, it is the rogue squadron games having issues with Dolphin, period.
dolphin dosnt need a powerful GPU just a good CPU with single core performance, all the GPU does is give visual output mainly ,everything is compiled by the CPU and dual core is more buggy than its worth most games emulate better with single core only, i only have a gtx 670 and a ivy bridge i5 @ 3.5gz but every game runs perfect

hmmmm looks like `stretch-o-vision` widescreen to me ....... shame it`s not real widescreen, doesn`t seem to do it on Dolphin, only the intro videos ?

@@teddym2808 i just tried it on my 3450 gtx 670, only some stuttering on some menus and scene switching but it runs fine for gameplay on my 2013 PC
Wow this was 4 years ago so may only even be a quad core gpu and an nvidia 900 series card?? Or maybe a 1080?
