I believe this is the most beautiful Star Wars game that I have ever seen but for one particular reason. No matter how much technical advances were made in current or next gen consoles, Factor 5 made Rogue Squadron 2 & 3 look just like the original trilogy movies.
In the Imperial Academy Heist after commandeering the shuttle 58:33, I always enjoyed constantly raising/lowering the wings like a flapping bird and circling the base to see how long I could last taunting the Empire instead of going to the rendezvous point.
Looks great but for the space battles, it would look better I think if a slight blur was on the background space texture. It is almost too much to look at. having the blur would bring your eye more to the objects in front of you. specifically to the different colors at 12:20. So maybe having the different colors such as red etc. have more of a soft look would help.
Thank you for sharing, can you upload a how to about how to install this mod? I downloaded the file but don't know how to install it. Also, he added a 16.9 texture ratio info but I have no idea where to install what he stated to support that. Thanks
I see your game lags, too on PC. I tried it on PC first, want to get some games on Steam Deck with Emu Deck. It often hangs when i switch to visor view or what it called.
This is fantastic, despite mothballing my Gamecube over a decade ago I still play my favourite games on Dolphin, I will be playing this in the next 5 minutes
@@ArchadesGames Eh, I think the original rogue squadron was the weakest. Rebel strike's only issue was those atrocious missions where you're walking on foot. The AT-ST missions were still good and it has the best flight combat. Rogue squadron 2 suffered from the lack of range your fighter had and how close you had to get to TIE fighters to shoot them down
@@Christian_Maoist.Only thing I liked better about the N64 one was the ability to be in the cockpit and turn everything off but the cross hairs. Makes the game almost beatable😂
Hello, could you make a video with the configuration of this game for Xbox, I have tried to run it on the Xbox Series S with Dolphin and it hangs at the entrance and never manages to start the mission. I have changed roms four times and it is always the same thing, it freezes. I would be grateful if you could provide a configuration guide, thanks in advance from URUGUAY
I’m so ready for doing this!! Been watching all your videos and just picked up a 1tb solid state hd. Picked up a 1050 read and noticed they make 2000 read hard drives now which is insane! There’s no gain to 2000 read when using for series s is there? Thanks and keep it up.

MY GOD this game is AMAZING with the HD texture pack...I'm playing this again on my OLED 65" 4K TV and it's INCREDIBLE. Man even the sound on my surround system is absolutely amazing. The newest Rogue Squadron game is trash compared to this masterpiece

In the ison corridor ambush the texture for the nebula is color inverted! its supposed to be a shade of light blue and white instead of shade of red an black! why is that?! it looks ugly af!

I was just thinking the same thing. This is the only game that has nailed that look. Down to the explosions. It all just feels exactly right
And they are the two most difficult games to run on emulators. Even laptops with discrete GPUs struggle...unless it's like 70,80,90s series cards

Probably not, if Rogue Squadron 1 is anything to go by. There’s some minor stuff out there, but very limited modding capabilities.

Its tough to run. I think partially due to the way Factor 5 used the audio. I think that's what I read

Turn in VBI skip and it is at least not an audio mess and playable at 60 in space missions and around 30 in ground ones.

Yea I couldn't seem to get this one or 3 to run on the Rog Ally it'll work all the way up to the first mission then crash 😢
I really really wish there was a remake of this and of rebel strike. Rebel strike alone was better than any SW game we've seen in the last 5 years

Yes this is all Dolphin. An 11900K and RTX 3080 were used for this one.

You need to use the previous version of UWP Dolphin. The current one is based on a version where it is broken.
