No doubt lots of other music legends don't like making videos, either. I do know that one of George Michael's own idols and close friends Sir Elton John absolutely loathes filming them, but (like George himself) he realises that they are a necessary evil in order to effectively promote his latest work around the world.
This is deeper than the camera. This is the problem with the hungry ghosts of modern-day civilization with technology and social media
I think i disagree. If the music is great the video would just elevate that. And how many Bands did i discover due to MTVs videos late at night. Also ironically, Freedom '90 is one of the most iconic videos of the 90s.
I agree. Also, an artist obviously cannot be everywhere in the world at the same time in order to perform his or her latest hit, but a video certainly can.

Yeah but videos kinda artistic way to promote your own art.
If you dont like videos you re in, make your own video scripts instead of someone else or just dont be in.

He never came to terms with the fact that he was an introvert, who was also a people person. The two can exist within the same person, but it sure helps to understand that this is simply a personality type, not a disfunction.

How wrong he was. The videos were, are, and wll always be the most promotional tool.
When you get an early, and quick success, you start overestimating yourself. I'm glad you had realized 8 years later and went on making videos when the "Older" album was released.
