nah it doesn't need nerfing your dmg isn't game breaking and you're clearly sub par at playing caster. plus you're fighting morons so in terms of performance it isn't OP.

Mage is a high risk class. If you miss one spell it leaves you wide open for a counterattack.
Usually mages are high risk in that sense yes, but not in Elden ring. The recovery time after spellcasts is as high as the average melee attack. Sure you can't spam the high channel spells as much as you could a katana r1/l1, but you've also got low cast time spells. Imo Mage isn't very risky.
But I still think that it's a balanced class, aside from a few disgusting spells, which most builds have, like dex and their Rob, Mv, & Mh

not really, you can spam tf out of magic to where it doesn't give ppl much time to really do anything, it's carried, some spells out there you can spam that have really good accuracy that you can't fully avoid, you will get hit by it 90% of the time it's being used.
First off, carina slicer has a running attack. Abuse the hell out of it like you are rollcatching with a halberd. Second off, less mind more vigor, at least 60 at level 120+, lastly, remove stars of ruin. Replace it with collapsing stars. And you’ve got the most based mage build in the game

Mages are OP but so are a lot of build if you play em right. I could almost be pretty sure a high dex/arc build using the RoB WA would melt a mage in a matter of seconds.
Mages only have a couple things that make them op. Honestly, you can kill them pretty easy. Moonveil needs tuned tho

GG. I would honestly recommend switching to the carrion regal scepter. It's weapons art is surprisingly good and fools people often. The dps boost of lusats vs the fp cost isn't worth it in pvp. You'd get hit way less of you didn't need to potion up.

@@nationofheels you can also afford less mind if you use the regal sceptre - more hp allows you to make some pretty crazy trades with the gavel and etc just bc of how much damage you deal
Can second the Carian Regal scepter. The sheer panic that sets in when the other player realizes they’ve made a grave mistake is wonderful. Its spinning attack deals so much damage and stun locks enemies.
I prefer the carian glintblade staff as it has higher scaling for me fully leveled. With the scepter I get 287, the glintblade staff 298 both S Intelligence scaling. Plus you only need 22 int for glintblade staff. Its also lighter, boosts glintblade sorceries, and you can equip your own ash of war to it.

Honestly as long as carian retaliation exists I’m fine with mage, I think they need to patch the self parry glitch, and then nerf the damage of carian retaliation in general. I’m a fine full str build and carian retaliation is my best friend for mages

The erdtree sheild takes care of mages in a jiffy. Best sheild for mage countering, takes them out in one shot.
needs a lot of strength and faith to wield though, not a popular combination for dex weapon users. and you need to pump up Faith in order for the damage reflection to do a lot of damage itself.

The magic does look cool. Looks like they went the DS2 route with creativity and utility which is cool. DS3 sorcery was only good for fall damage and running past mobs. Still don't think I'll play with this game though. Not really trying to beat a game twice just to have a good build to play the game 🤣

I can either be a very op ass mage or i can be a thunder god a dragon lord. I got the talismans boost for sorcery and lightning all that. And pvp is mostly my favorite part about the game. New game plus gets harder and harder every plus. Definitely something to fw
I found it kind of embarrassing his friends were all alone and the guy invokes a specter I found it disrespectful to his friends and like saying they are just pieces but at least he has the honor of fighting fairly, something that the elder ring community doesn't have much
All classes i have notice have some pretty Op builds I saw a 2 hand great hammer do 1500 damage one hit to another guy

Although it’s a possibility it was someone else, using the same gear/ weapons on PC, I’m fairly certain this guy spams in duels.. oh and pots. (And then disconnects when someone is beating him )

Why do they make the dumbest looking helmets and not include a hide option??
The only thing that needs to be nerfed or dealt with is spamming. Spamming one specific spell or inc. spamming one single weapon art/ash. You run into 3 players that have no skill at all and just constantly spam over and over, unless you run away and hide using concealing veil your going to lose 9/10 times cause your not going to be able to dodge 3 different spams from 3 different angles the whole time...

@@Jishuteki a dual wielding occult cross-naginata with seppuku buff active will instableed on a single running powerstance attack, meaning that strength builds with unlimited poise can't do shit in a trade since bleed stuns them, they will always lose since objectively bleed users weapons tends to be faster than the average strength weapon and will always be the first weapon to hit in a trade. And mage is very gimmicky and too reliant on their flasks, and you can always bloodhound step in to melee range against them and dodge most, if not all of their attacks with it.

Mages Don't need nerfed. Players need to get good. Anything that isn't an exploit other than maybe bloodhound step, is fine. Bloodhound Step is basically the cartwheel from DS1. Easiest way to counter it is to use it and wait for the player to get bored and start engaging then either parry or just predict them attacking. Everything in the game has a counter in some way or another. This community needs to stop being so entitled. This wasn't like this in DS1. You just came prepared for bullshit.

I been doing 1v1s, 1v2s, and 1v3s all naked , bloodhound step and Keen Uchigatana and Blood Nagakiba. The overall player base is really nooby and spammy. (Simple reads) occasionally you will find a formiddable player though. Alot dont like to rematch though which is the sad part
