@@komarkko1 for pvp magic is still in a weird spot. The simple low cost spells are still better in nearly all use cases. But in pve you can learn so many spells and they all hit so hard that nearly everything can be used if you want to. Even the slow lumbering orbs can be busted op if you know how to lure enemies to them. Only the npc invaders behave like a player so no one else will really try to intelligently evade magic. The status clouds are especially lethal in pve since most enemies don’t even register it as an attack so they just sit in them or walk at you.
The "hold button to charge spells" mechanic is such great addition by the look of it. I couldn't know if it's a general mechanic applied to all spells, or just certain spells or pieces of equipment (still haven't played the game, need to upgrade the PC), but I like it.
Don't do aage build it's boring af and the only spell you're gonna use is glintstone pebble because all the other spells have extremely low damage in comparison.
Would heavily recommend a moonveil build if you’re going dex int. The weapon art is incredible, does a lot of damage and breaks poise easy plus it can cause bleed damage.
I remember the prisoner's starting spell thats like Vergil's summons swords was cool but all of these spells are so wild and crazy, its like they let a modder create spells for them. usually developers don't have such wild crazy ideas and so many at that.
I hope they expand on blood magic in dlc. I'm amazed by the variety but I had been hoping for more blood stuff and I'd love to see what else they could make with it
There’s about 6 blood oriented spells. You have briars of sin/punishment which is two and then for incantations, theres Bloodboon, Blood talons and Swarm of flies. I use them all in combination with Rivers of blood katana and Malenia’s blade for regen (also use lord of blood Exultation which increases damage when bloodloss occurs) It’s literally a vampire/blood mage build and it’s so much fun. I cause bleed buildup so quick and it works for both pvp and pve.
I don't think there is a spell animation more Magnificent than the moon spell in the entire gaming history so far. The particules the animation the sound effect, they outdone themselves

A lot of these spells suck butt. The dmg is crap compared to the cost in fp. I don't think they tested the sorceries correctly considering maybe a handful of them are only even worth bothering with
My personal top 10: 10) *Glintstone Shard* The Classic. Your first pew pew, and it stay reliable for the whole game. A keeper. 9) *Glintstone icecrag* It's nice. The range is a bit short but the frost damage makes up for it 8) *Rain of Stars* Used against big, slow ennemies will eat both their hp and poise, provided you attack as well. Casting it in a corridor, then hiding behind it with your shield up is also an option. Worth the 2 slots it takes. 7) *Magic Glintblade* My go to spell right now. The delay is a bit off setting at first, but it allows a lot of things. Cast as many of them as you need while you're undetected, then go hiding. Let them suffer alone. Or go melee while they're being pummeled to death. 6) *Haima cannon* Do you ever feel impotant? Do you ever want to go big shooty boom boom magic? Do you hate that guy over there or just want to probe a room for baddies? (or unfortunate npc?) Well boi do i have the spell for you. Decent range, big damage, with the added bonus of dropping things off the edges. No brainer. 5) *Adula's Moonblade* The Carian version hits once per swing. Adula hits twice, is more powerful, and inflicts frost. Ideal for pack sweeping, or things too big on their legs for your sword (And no lock points on the legs LOOKING AT YOU ELDER DRAGONS!) 4) *Comet Azur* In the storm beyond time exists a Dragon. A Lord among his peers. I issued challenge. The Dragonlord laughed. The Dragonlord is no more. 3) *Ambush Shard* The mob has a shield? Is hiding behind a wall? Is below a ledge? That spell, fellas is your middle finger to them. Tip: The lock disables if an ennemy is out of sight for a few seconds, but nothing stops you from moving the camera and locking them again. It's clanky, but does the job 2) *Glintstone arc* I don't use it anymore, but up to mid game, it does wonders for clearing packs while staggering them. It's low cost is also a plus 1) *Loretta's Greatbow* Now this, is the shit. If you have this you can never get ganked as long as you have a clear view. The range is bonkers, the damage output is great, and can one shot almost any mob you encounter. A must have.

Ah yes... The mage build. The build that is so fantasy it turns the game into a pseudo-sci-fi experience. I expect this much particles on armored core 6
Imagine if they used Nioh’s mappable skill system alongside Elden Ring’s magic. So for example, Swift Glintstone Shard could map to your quick attack and Glintstone Shard to your strong. You can then map 4 spells to your skills. Or if you had a Carian staff and the light attack would be Carian Slicer and the strong attack would be Carian Greatsword or Carian Piercer. So many fun possibilities. Hopefully someone in the future makes a game like this.

@@manuelgramajo9088 As someone who's been playing as a caster for my first playthrough, I can say that the spells are very usuable in PVP when getting invaded. You can easily change up your cast times to throw people off.
Interesting thing about Rykard's Rancor: If you strafe left or right while casting, the skull will circle horizontally back to you like a boomerang rather than drop to the ground
I’m so happy that this was created. Especially since it seems like everyone is going faith first. It’s nice to know that there are some great spells out there.
my first playthrough fantasy is that my character was once a student of Raia Lucaria that showed extreme potential but as she grew in the arts her curiousity took her down a path in which she had to choose, either to grow beyond herself or to fall to the dark. I think this is a pretty good head cannon for her as I continue my playthrough. What do you guys think her path will be XD
Btw the best spells are the greatsword and the 3 comets you throw, add in the bow spell for long range and ofc the glintstone pebble and thats probably it.
Plus the delayed sword spell for enemys that dodge/block and glintblade phalanx for invisible… and yeah thats pretty much it other than some other specific uses. Most of the magics in the game just have rly specific uses, so you use them like 3% of the time
I just beat the game as a pure spellcaster. Comet Azur (kamehameha) is absolutely insane for slower moving, larger targets, I legit brought some bosses down before I even saw their mechanics. Carian Slicer is great for melee types along with Adula's Moonblade if you need greater coverage. Pebble is solid but Comet/Cometshard can do massive damage if you have the time to cast them. Lastly, Loretta's Greatbow is fantastic when you are mounted or if targets are dodging your pebbles/comet while you still need to be at range. Mages can absolutely stomp but the more aggressive targets will require some patience. Summons help greatly here.

@@spacewizardpip1111 you definitely want to hunt down golden seeds and sacred tears as much as you can, boost your flasks and get some FP recovery type talismans (get your 3 talisman slots asap, there is a 4th way later too). The exception being when in the mage area. Using carian slicer is good and using ashes to scale a weapon with int (like the +8 rapier you'll end up getting for free) will allow you some flexibility if you want to melee a bit.
Definitely going to have to do a magic build on my second playthrough! This looks so fun.
Or as I did I did my respec my points into a magic build
@@TheRattyPaladin Maybe I will give it a try!
Don't do aage build it's boring af and the only spell you're gonna use is glintstone pebble because all the other spells have extremely low damage in comparison.
@@griffithdidnothingwrong7117 Let people play what they want they'll judge for themsleves if it's boring or not. Smh keyboard warrior
Would heavily recommend a moonveil build if you’re going dex int. The weapon art is incredible, does a lot of damage and breaks poise easy plus it can cause bleed damage.
Greatblade phalanx be like:
"I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING"
Me: throwing moons at my enemies
my enemies: "you throw another moon at me, and i'm gonna lose it.
Shattered Earth makes me think of Gandalf's "You Shall Not Pass!!"
All of the spells are just mesmerizing to look at, it makes me want to actually play and do a sorcerer build
Dang didn’t realize there were this many spells. Great content!
me neither, i'm very happy
This is just sorcery spells. Incantations double the amount total
I’ve been using the Night Maidens Mist along with a strong ashen spirit, and you can cheese bosses essentially, it does over 1,000 dmg per spell.
Same with Rot Breath and bleed
I remember the prisoner's starting spell thats like Vergil's summons swords was cool
but all of these spells are so wild and crazy, its like they let a modder create spells for them. usually developers don't have such wild crazy ideas and so many at that.
I’ve been doing the castle’s with my friends and we was having a blast this Game is phenomenal
no birds were harmed in the making of this video, before Loretta's freaking Greatbow
Finally, I've been looking everywhere for that:) please do incantations next
3:51 Every single time I cast this I'm going to say "trace on" then giggle like an idiot.
I hope they expand on blood magic in dlc. I'm amazed by the variety but I had been hoping for more blood stuff and I'd love to see what else they could make with it
This x 1000
And moon sorceries, came here looking for more but turns out there’s only 2 and they are practically the same :/
@@Luv4flth I was surprised there wasn't at least a Crescent Moon version of the Glintstone Arc.
@@gp5925 rivers of blood scaling is broke though :/ so annoying. I have 50 arcane and mostly use rotten breath dragon spell though atm.
Thanks a lot man this is exactly what I was looking for and just wow sorceries look amazing
3:26 Founding Rain Of Stars
6:00 Zamor Ice Storm
6:16 Freezing Mist
8:46 Night Comet
10:00 Meteorite
10:15 Meteorite Of Astel
I don't think there is a spell animation more Magnificent than the moon spell in the entire gaming history so far.
The particules the animation the sound effect, they outdone themselves
Thanks for the show, I realized I'm missing a lot of spells, not gonna finish the first playtrough until I collected them all
7:55 I wouldn’t be too mad if they implicated that one fortnite dance while you do that lmao
Definitely going INT on my second playthrough! Currently running strength with a dabble of faith, but I’ll be damned if these sorceries don’t look incredible!
Look incredible but suck in reality. You'll be using your starter spell from beginning to end...
@@belladonnasbat5816 Well I don’t know until I try it out!
@@belladonnasbat5816 is this from personal experience or you just bashing on mage builds? Genuinely curious idc either way
@@brandonenke2680 he's talking about the playthrough one guy did
@Brandon Enke personal experience so far and from what I've heard also. I'm level 87 and still using glintstone pebble.
This is just what I’ve been looking for thank you
honestly i'd like to see what all the weapon arts for shields look like. helps to know what can improve a potential build.
Your channel is the go-to place for Elden Ring fans. Keep those custom battles coming!
9:08 Carian Retaliation & Eternal Darkness were needed, seeing how good these spells are.
I don't know where you are supposed to get them lol
@@Benjaxiso you can get the Carian Retaliation from "Three Sisters" area within Caria Manor (actually behind the manor itself). You will have to cross spider infested forest, fight ghostly rider boss and then you get to Three Sisters area.
@@KGAnims cool Thanks!
I could watch these all day...
This is just plain gorgeous...
Show the weapons too?
Thank you! Been waiting for this as I can't decide if I should go int(sorceries) or faith(incantations). can't decide w/c has cooler skills :D
Thanks for this. About to do some extensive research on how to get the spells I like
Thanks for this Showcase! This is exactly what we needed! The tooltips are also premium! Great video:)
Precisely what I was looking for. Thanks!
Gonna try to fuse that planet mace and the gravity magic with the moon sorcery to create a “Mage of the Cosmos” build
I've always wanted a full sorcerer build on a soulsborne game. I've only managed to be a spellblade on DS3. Glad to know I can go ham on sorceries in Elden Ring.
The spells in this game are beautiful and actually look practical. Quite high fp cost though
The fact that this is nearly 15 minutes long shows the staggering amount of magic options in this game
from all of those cool spells, we only need to use glinstone pebble to kick the enemies ass :)
No bird was harmed in the process of this demo
You guys saw the Carian Retaliation, right? You know what's best part?
It also exists as Ash of War! You can slap it on any small or med shield and have a general fuck you tool to mages. It is found in Three Sisters area, behind Caria Manor (you have to pass through Manor first and defeat ghostly rider boss).
This is my go to whenever I spot any mages
I love that the developers added Comet Azur just to allow players to feel like a boss
Finally miyazaki/fromsoft did something interesting with the sorceries
Sorceries were good in DSII.
Except they do low damage for the cost and it's almost as if they never play tested the same spells.
@@griffithdidnothingwrong7117 yeah and they kept this in ds3 couse most sorcerei sucked even some older1 xD
A lot of these spells suck butt. The dmg is crap compared to the cost in fp. I don't think they tested the sorceries correctly considering maybe a handful of them are only even worth bothering with
Thanks for the showcase. I like these kind of straight to the point video.
Man if you can show the locations for these spells that would be amazing. The most ive been able to find is the haima spells.
My personal top 10:
10) *Glintstone Shard*
The Classic. Your first pew pew, and it stay reliable for the whole game. A keeper.
9) *Glintstone icecrag*
It's nice. The range is a bit short but the frost damage makes up for it
8) *Rain of Stars*
Used against big, slow ennemies will eat both their hp and poise, provided you attack as well. Casting it in a corridor, then hiding behind it with your shield up is also an option. Worth the 2 slots it takes.
7) *Magic Glintblade*
My go to spell right now. The delay is a bit off setting at first, but it allows a lot of things. Cast as many of them as you need while you're undetected, then go hiding. Let them suffer alone. Or go melee while they're being pummeled to death.
6) *Haima cannon*
Do you ever feel impotant? Do you ever want to go big shooty boom boom magic? Do you hate that guy over there or just want to probe a room for baddies? (or unfortunate npc?) Well boi do i have the spell for you. Decent range, big damage, with the added bonus of dropping things off the edges. No brainer.
5) *Adula's Moonblade*
The Carian version hits once per swing. Adula hits twice, is more powerful, and inflicts frost. Ideal for pack sweeping, or things too big on their legs for your sword (And no lock points on the legs LOOKING AT YOU ELDER DRAGONS!)
4) *Comet Azur*
In the storm beyond time exists a Dragon. A Lord among his peers. I issued challenge. The Dragonlord laughed. The Dragonlord is no more.
3) *Ambush Shard*
The mob has a shield? Is hiding behind a wall? Is below a ledge? That spell, fellas is your middle finger to them. Tip: The lock disables if an ennemy is out of sight for a few seconds, but nothing stops you from moving the camera and locking them again. It's clanky, but does the job
2) *Glintstone arc*
I don't use it anymore, but up to mid game, it does wonders for clearing packs while staggering them. It's low cost is also a plus
1) *Loretta's Greatbow*
Now this, is the shit. If you have this you can never get ganked as long as you have a clear view. The range is bonkers, the damage output is great, and can one shot almost any mob you encounter. A must have.
This is awesome! Any chance of seeing a showcase for the incantations as well? Regardless, thank you for all the hard work!
Without context, this video looks like some guy trying every single sorcery in the game to try and kill a hawk
Great video, do you also can provide all the incantations? would be super nice
I've been waiting for this video... Now I'll have to wait for all incarnations showcase
that Full Moon of Rennala is insane with that 70 INT requirement
except its crap, im playing a full intelligent build and the only thing that carries my is carian slicer and rock sling
@@frzkhrx is it bad against bosses as well? What you think about Aur Comet? Is that the highest dps channel?
@@frzkhrx Try pebble and slicer, better than rock sling even with the gravity staff lmao plus every other dps.
Terrible compared to spamming pebble, tested it out. Feels like they didnt test sorcery at all.
@@raidgoblin6933 slicer is what im doing and no rock sling is good at breaking postures, really good, any enemy and any boss would get knocked down in 4 shots
Really great to see so much variety.
The Founding Rain of Stars reminds me of an attack that Aldritch used against the player in DS3
GREATLY APPRECIATE the timestamps in the video and in the video information area!!! like and subscribed and shared! Now that's how you do a showcase/info video. fuck yeah
I just used the Carian Slicer to beat Margit. It's much stronger than I would have expected.
Honestly it’s a very very good spell, it does decent dmg, it’s fast, and it costs almost no FP. Only downside is the range
I'm 30 hours in and glintstone, the sword attack and carian slicer does more damage then level 30-35 spells lmao
@@Grandmaster-Kush It wouldn't be a FromSoft game if you were having TOO much fun.
where can i get new spells? i started with the prisoner and the spell is not that great 😆
@@Grandmaster-Kush That is very strange. I'm still at fairly low Int, just 16, but I'm already noticing that things like Great Glintstone Pebble don't get as much of a boost in damage compared to the ol' reliable pebble.
More showcases please 🙏. This was awesome and thank you!
Great video, thank you. I've already watched it multiple times, I wonder if there's a source somewhere that compare the damage and efficiency of these spells... The game is severely lacking on hard numbers when it comes to the spell stats.
Thank you so much! Really beautiful skills! I love it!
very cool. i see a lot of mage hunter builds with those anti magic spells
4:00 Vergil, is that you?
4:06 time to go vergil mode
"Glintstone 12 gauge cant hurt you, it isnt real"
Glintsone 12 gauge: 2:05
Ambush shard seems really good
Amazing allowed me to see the skills figure out what i wanted tysm for a straight forward vid
These spell are so good!!! Just wish FS didn’t move the ‘spook’ spell to faith, that was my most used spell as an assassin. I wasn’t going to level up faith at all till I saw it. At least it’s a low cost.
You could just use those craftable cotton items instead. It's the same effect, and the ingredients to craft it are pretty common.
on top of using cotton like the other dude said, you can get an armor set that masks your movement sound. it's a bit of the way into the game though....
there's also the talisman that can do the trick.
I like how when you are sorceries the birds are just watching and chillin
OMG so many spells and most of them seem useful! Even useful for PvP it would seem! Now THIS is what it would be like to be a sorcerer. It would be nice to have more than two useful spells.
Not for pvp. They never fixed their roll spamming everyone can dodge those spells. If they would fix the aiming of spells and for enemies take damage as long as you get hit no matter if you roll, then it would be the most fun experience
@@manuelgramajo9088 As someone who's been playing as a caster for my first playthrough, I can say that the spells are very usuable in PVP when getting invaded. You can easily change up your cast times to throw people off.
3:25 HYDRO STORM!
Praise the Crystal Release?
Interesting thing about Rykard's Rancor: If you strafe left or right while casting, the skull will circle horizontally back to you like a boomerang rather than drop to the ground
aside from good looking, what is the best for bossing? also how did u leveled up this high?
I’m so happy that this was created. Especially since it seems like everyone is going faith first. It’s nice to know that there are some great spells out there.
I feel like everyone is going int lol
my first playthrough fantasy is that my character was once a student of Raia Lucaria that showed extreme potential but as she grew in the arts her curiousity took her down a path in which she had to choose, either to grow beyond herself or to fall to the dark. I think this is a pretty good head cannon for her as I continue my playthrough. What do you guys think her path will be XD
bruh
Soo selles questline?
Btw the best spells are the greatsword and the 3 comets you throw, add in the bow spell for long range and ofc the glintstone pebble and thats probably it.
Plus the delayed sword spell for enemys that dodge/block and glintblade phalanx for invisible… and yeah thats pretty much it other than some other specific uses. Most of the magics in the game just have rly specific uses, so you use them like 3% of the time
Pebble, Arc, Carian Slicer, Carian Greatsword
Genuine question, are the damage on all the spells decent enough?
Not really, I just use Carian slicer and pebble as they do a lot of the damage late game.
The spells are so poorly balanced it's a joke, it's like they didn't even test any of the shit before launching the game.
@@stormhel I’m early game right now, I feel as my FP grows I maybe able to use the spells for frequently, some just feel rather slow and costly for their damage
@@spacewizardpip1111 you definitely want to hunt down golden seeds and sacred tears as much as you can, boost your flasks and get some FP recovery type talismans (get your 3 talisman slots asap, there is a 4th way later too). You want a heavy focus of mana flasks, I usually only kept around 2 life flasks on me until I had around 7 or 8 mana and then I had 4 life flasks. You should get hit less being ranged. The exception being when in the mage area. Using carian slicer is good and using ashes to scale a weapon with int (like the +8 rapier you'll end up getting for free) will allow you some flexibility if you want to melee a bit. I stayed light roll the whole time though so I didn't have anything but staff and shield.
Thank you for this video!
Elden ring has the best magic in the series
This is what I’m talking about. I’m really feeling the power in Elden Ring. Throwing a moon 🌚 to someone’s face … it’s awesome
