To anyone feeling bad that they don't feed their cats this way: It's a hobby! It's for content! It's for people with money! Their pets are their passion and it's okay that you aren't like this. As long as you love your pets (and don't feed them complete garbage) they'll be fine.

@@lanab.5179 we tried to give my cat fresh scrambled eggs on a handful of occasions when bad weather prevented us from buying more dry kibble. He always turned his nose up at it for a good hour before relenting because he was hungry and that was all we could offer him. Ironically, though, he loved rice. As long as you're feeding your cat food that doesn't have anything harmful in it (like brands that frequently get recalled), and they're fed and healthy, they're fine. My cat made it to 20yrs old on primarily friskies/meow mix kibble lol. When in doubt, ask your vet.

By the way I do understand that a lot of this is due to the amount of time and money my parents have to put into a school lunch and I have no actual resentment towards my parents, or anyone's for that matter, because they don't want to ( or can't ) do something like that. Most kibble is absolute garbage made from rancid animals. I dont judge people for using it as it is cost effective. Cats like it because the kibble is literally manufactured to be addictive to them, much like human processed food. Humans could probably eat cereal everyday, but that is not the healthiest diet and it definitely isnt for a carnivorous animal. Processed is NEVER the best diet for any living creature. But like I said, fed is better than hungry so do what you can. I just know most people have no idea about how pet food is made. I didn't. I researched it and also watched some documentaries about it and cried thinking I was a bad pet mom. One of my cats is addicted, unfortunately. So I have to give her some here and there. But I make sure they eat quality wet food every day as well. I also make them eggs and liver once a week. Liver and gizzards are relatively cheap and last a bit with my 3 cats. They prefer liver, but every cat has different tastes. Not judging you btw, it's a learning curve, same as people who have no clue about human processed food. I'm more frustrated at the company dishonesty because there are ways they COULD make kibble a bit healthier, but they don't. They literally use roadkill and other randomized animal bits and add a lot of wheat/filler and then flavor to cover up the rancid taste. Just be careful everyone and do your best.

just reminding people that raw feeding is incredibly difficult and requires a delicate balance of nutrients. It's much safer to feed a a dry food with plenty of water avaliable, or a wet food if your cat doesn't like to drink water. Major pet food companies do lifetime feeding trials to ensure that their food isn't going to significantly shorten your pet's lifespan. If you do decide to raw feed it should be under the oversight of a vet, preferably one with specialized nutritional training. Raw feeding can be fun, it's like playing zookeeper for your pet, but you have to do it in a way that's not at the expense of the animal.

Most animals live a long, healthy life on commercial cat food and shaming people for not feeding raw is stupid. Healthy food costs more to produce, supply, and preserve, so those costs are passed onto the consumer. Unhealthy, processed foods with a lot of fillers and preservatives cost less to produce and supply, so they're cheaper to the customer, as well. Now, _inflation_ is out of control, which makes everything more expensive, but healthy food costing more isn't some sort of conspiracy.

@@Liam-ck8uc Thank you! Finally a responsible owner who realized that keeping your cats outside is really harmful to the local wildlife. I often feel that cat owners seem to feel no remorse about their cats needlessly killing animals that they won't even eat. Some bird species near my hometown are going extinct because of selfish cat owners that believe the law (no cats outside during breeding time) does not apply to them and their cats. They say "it's just one bird!", but when cats are the second most owned pet in the world and everybody thinks like that, it quickly becomes a serious problem. Dogs are kept on a leash so they don't harm people and wildlife, it is even against the law for pet dogs to chase wildlife. But strangely enough it is not considered a problem by many cat owners when their cat hunts and kills wildlife unsupervised and regularly.
I'm glad to have found someone who actually cares and leaves their cat indoors for the sake of wildlife, well done!

A few weeks before this she left a skull, the feet, 1 wing and an organ, clearly she didn't like the taste of that bird as much, I literally had to clean up a crime scene 😭
Edit: they're my nannys cats but she moved and couldn't take them with her and I now live in her house and cant make them indoor cats bc theyve been outdoor cats for years, if it was up to me they wouldn't leave the house, it's dangerous for them and bad for the local wildlife.
