Another mod you can look at is "Green in the Commonwealth xb1". There are 3 versions of this mod. To find this mod using search, type in "V.3.0 updated or V.2.9 updated" and for the 3rd version "V.2.3 updated" and each one is very different in file size and how much is added to the environment.

That’s a good tip but I did look at it in my previous video on grass mods so don’t include it here.
Of all the grass/tree and env mods I tested GitC causes the biggest drop in fps so I didn’t recommend it, especially to Series S users.
Just like you I also mentioned in the grass video how to find it as the mod search engine doesn’t play nice sometimes! Cheers.

If you’re looking for a good landscape mod and foliage mod to pair I would recommend “ Spifferinos Natural Landscape series “ it’s extremely realistic and pairs very well with any of the above mentioned mods.

great vid man i just started using Overgrowth last week and it adds so much but i’ve definitely noticed a performance hit on my series X. Watching this now to find an alternative..

Ah perfect timing then! Let me know if you settle on an alternative.

@@ramnexus i’m currently using true grass and “some trees”, i’m going to add commonwealth flora overhaul in the place of some trees maybe? I think all three would conflict.. Thanks again for this guide..

@@kacethegreat4560 Maybe put True Grass below CFO on your mod list, otherwise CFO will just overwrite it.
I had a quick look at Some Trees but didn't show it off since (as its name suggests) it only puts tress in a few specific locations. CFO seems a better choice.

Thanks so much for sharing this, and your grass mod video!! Subscribed!!! (But for some reason I couldn't 'like' either video...🤔). And with your analysis of Green In The Commonwealth, which I've been using on Xbox X, I'm now going to have to try some of these others. I'm reluctant to switch in the middle of my play-through, because I do love the look of Green In The Commonwealth and I'm worried what a switch might do to some of my settlement builds, but I do notice the variance in framerate that you've mentioned with it 😒.

It is really nice to hear when people get something out of my videos. Thanks for the post!
I anticipate Green in the Comm. behaves a little better on your Series X than the Series S i tested it on but i believe you when you say you noticed fps variations.
Good point re switching mid-game; i wonder if issues i had with some grass and tree mods was because of that. You could always have a separate dedicated 'test' save to try out a couple of alternatives.
      Cheers!

Unfortunately, some landscape mods no longer work without crashing since the upgrade!
The Boston Natural Surroundings mods and Another Pine Forest from Flecked caused my game to crash while in Diamond City.
I didn't have that before the next gen upgrade.
I prefer to play with AGM Dlc (379 MB), this mod still works!

Good point. I agree, AGM dlc is a good call.
Unfortunately I didn't go into Diamond City with any of the mods on this list when screenshoting (is that a word?) and gameplay recording.
Some mods have been updated since the May Next-Gen update, and I make mention of that when I noticed it.
But I didn't have any stability issues with any of these mods, noting of course I didn't have time to playtest them for long.
I normally closed down the game and restarted when enabling new mods but for some I had to do a soft-reset of the console to get them to stick (10 second press of the console power button). SimpleGreen/Yellow comes to mind for that.
      Cheers!

I would like to use mods like this -- after all, the closest real world comparison to Fallout (Pripyat in the Ukraine) is practically a jungle now. But I also like to build settlements (which is pretty much why I don't play the other games), and some of these mods start pushing grass up into your buildings. Any recommendations for a bit of life without an increase in ground clutter height? Anyone?

Howdy. When making the video I found a mod called "AGM - Settlement Grass Fix" which is designed to remove grass from indoors. I've loaded it and my Xbox didn't explode but I didn't spend any time checking how well it works. It is made by the same modder who makes AGM, but can be loaded on its own.
There's also the "Remove Ugly Flat Trash" and "Better leaf Pile" mods which are both on xbox, that should tidy things up around most settlements, depending on what look you're after. Cheers!

I don’t have enough mod space, I want gas mask of the wasteland (459MB), flaconoil's retexture project (664MB), Natural Landscapes (359MB), Boston Natural Surroundings Tree only 2.4 (246MB), Green in the commonwealth (281MB), Nac X (88MB), then 4 small other visual mods where are together 80MB. That is all together already 2,2 GB, and then for my weapon mods I need 450 MB, and the other gameplay mods are around 90MB. They need add more mod space, I think they didn’t because they will that we play starfield so they broke fallout and and didn’t make it better.

Thanks for the tip. Didn’t forget it, it just didn’t make the top 10 most popular tree mods according to Bethesda. Might have a look at it later though 👍
