    Sometimes it really drives home to me how these cases affect the detectives who have to investigate them. It really does take a certain caliber of person to be able to put aside their own feelings and do what must be done to bring justice to the victims. And I don't think they get thanked enough.

    Paul Denyer is due for parole in 2 weeks. He can never be allowed to walk our streets again. 30 years for taking the life of 3 innocent young woman and destroying the lives of their friends and family is absolutely pathetic. We have to do better.

    • @Adara007
      @Adara007 11 месяцев назад +3

      Thankfully parole was denied but only after public outcry and pressure. Men like Denyer aren't able to be "rehabilitated" in the slightest. His behaviour strongly suggests sadistic personality disorder which was removed from the DSM after its third edition because some US psychiatrists were afraid it would be used in legal cases to try to excuse or, at least, minimise sadistic acts. However many clinicians still think SPD is an appropriate diagnosis.
      Unfortunately parole boards all too frequently ignore the recommendations of clinicians not to release violent offenders. They tend to focus on "good behaviour" inside prisons which is absurd considering that men like Denyer target women so when they're incarcerated solely with other men of course their behaviour is usually regarded as 'good' 🙄 Indeed, it's seeing parole boards minimise or ignore recommendations by forensic psychologists that is actually a large component behind why such clinicians often cease to work with convicted perpetrators and instead choose to focus solely on victims and survivors of crimes.

    I agree. Like we Canadians, you need to restore the death penalty is such cases. With DNA or other modern sciences, the likliehood of an innocent person being convicted is eliminated.

    • @hellekimery9537
      @hellekimery9537 5 лет назад +3

      Brian Graves it would be great, if it was only that simple !! There is not always DNA found on or around a murder victim! There are people who confess to murders they did not do, or set up other people to take the fall...I can think of many different scenarios, where only circumstantial evidence was there. It CAN still happen, that the wrong person will be put to death . Nothing is foolproof unfortunately as we've seen in so many public trials in recent years. A great defend attorney can get a guilty person free, and the opposite is also true, that a good procecution team, will / can put an innocent person behind bars. If only every murder had great clear fingerprints, as well as DNA that was not cross contaminated or that person was not in the official dna/ fingerprint database..etc etc etc. As a society , and as individuals, we must be able to accept, that we don't always get the right person, and be willing to live with putting perhaps a non guilty person to death !
      However, when we DO get the right monster sentenced to death ? They linger on death row for MANY years, exhausting the legal system and draining taxpayers money !! If we are going to take someone's life ? It looks like, despite being convicted , that they appeal and appeal their sentence , claiming they were wrongly convicted of course. It's nothing like on tv or the movies unfortunately . Very rarely will the perfect proof be there, and both physical and circumstancial evidence has to be carefully collected, studied, compared to known samples.
      Am I in favour of the death penalty ? IF the evidence is there, enough that I'm VERY satisfied this person where perhaps a killer / rapist of the very young. The elderly,or sexual sadist, the 100% I am !! We keep letting these people back out of jail, despite knowing that this type of killer, rapist, - the serial killer, can never be cured, or get better. They are who they are and if we can't keep them locked up, and make sure they NEVER ever get out ? Then I'd prefer them put to death, because they WILL kill again, given the chance.
      But, are we okaykilling the wrong person ? I think, at some point, we won't have much choice anymore, as the jail's are filling up with more phycopaths than EVER before !! Since we know killer phycopaths, can not feel empathy or remorse ? Yeah, I'd agree with you! We at least have to have the death penalty as an option, nothing else is working ! I know that I in certain brutal, horrific crimes, would have " zero" issue pressing the button and waving bye bye . Waste of skin, waste ofgiving second chances !

    • @sstuddert
      @sstuddert 3 года назад +1

      No. The only justification society ever has for infringing upon the rights and liberties of _anyone_ is to prevent harm to others; once a murderer is incarcerated, they are thereby rendered harmless, and society has no warrant to injure that person further. Justice is not revenge.

    Honestly on part 45:32 the ending didnt really make sense the point they try to state had no relation to the crime that happened in the forensics. Its quite disappointing why they didnt note that Stephen Dempsey argument was actually quite true. I believe that the female is the true serial killer, the body had fingerprints of that prostie. Paul Denyer's case was filled with evidence that they could use in the court, but they used none, also during the part in 23:54 the thing he stated, "It was a sheer to the spine when the Dendly Family found the body", we can see that they did have fear in their faces, clearly the body was just marked with many bruises. Paul Denyer is my main suspect; the victim was choked and before even stabbed.
    In 18:21 the photograph that was show, you can see those wounds on her lower left side of the waist, forensic investigators stated that those occurred **AFTER** when she was already dead. Its really such a scary case if you think about it, the victim was only 18 compared to the suspect the age changes alot.
    i have a friend that was really close to the victim Natalie Russel, she was doing VCE year 11 and classes 12, and she was only 17: she knew the victim really well, I'm honestly upset that when the detective in 41:35 interviewed, he acted really aggressive to her. It's honestly really unfair and unreliable. It's been 30 years and this cold case has still not been solved, its really disappointing that they aren't doing the best they can to this.
    In the beginning of 31:42 that random witness stated there were two topics that were going on. Like who is this guy? You have nothing to do with this. I'm highly sure that he could have known the suspect and was just trying throw them off guard by telling fake lies. Anyways, I'm glad that the guy is now in prison, but not good enough. His consequences are not enough, after assaulting some young girl, I don't think he is serving enough in prison. It should be a life time. And that wasn't even his first time murdering, he did it twice, yes twice! 🤪 a bloody serial killer!
    Its interesting how they found him. Forensic Investigators is such a great show, it shows how these scientist use small substances that can lead the federal polices to the suspect. From nothing to something big, they show great detail on how these workers do their thing, spinning things around can lead to big clues and big clues can be super useful. The Investigators maybe also have taken classes in asking questions to suspects, it seems like they understand the body language of people. When they see sudden small movements it's like they understand that they are lying.
    To conclude my idea, I think the government needs to make a changed with these terrible sentences, a serial killer should not only have 30 years, but they deserve a life sentence. They don't understand murders, taking a life can impact many many peoples life and I don't think they sense any sympathy to any family, thank you.

      I can see your point, it makes a lot of sense, but regarding to your second paragraph i don't understand that timestamp, it doesn't prove your point, that detective appeared to be nice at the start, but that was all the girls fault. I don't think you should be mad at that point.

    As of Oct 2024, Paul Denyer is still incarcerated. He never earned his female credits thru surgery or any other set of societally-approved extra-curriculars, so no need blaspheme the pronouns. but he gave it the old Jolson try

    Back then he was a sadistic killer but now he has mellowed and actually has a heart and cares for people and helps where he can to make people's lives easier I have seen this first hand with someone that needed help and he was always there to help when no one else would he has been reformed and should be given a second chance even if it is under strict conditions and ankle bracelet so it's always known where he is all I know is I have seen the goodness in him

      Denyer isn't capable of being "reformed" or rehabilitated. His behaviour has all the hallmarks of sadistic personality disorder (SPD) which, while removed from the DSM after its third edition by US psychiatrists worried it would be used in legal cases to excuse violent acts, is nevertheless used by many clinicians diagnostically today. Denyer is a dangerous man and needs to remain incarcerated.

    The main reason he committed killings was he was young and on unemployment benefit and had too much time for everything, especially for his fantasy.

      WHAT..!?!
      no.
      the main reason he committed these murders is because - as he said - he "wanted to kill".
      because he's a monster..!!!
