- This moist and pillowy soft chocolate banana bread is full of chocolate and banana flavor, quick to make and beyond delicious! 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 215g
1 tsp baking powder 4g
1 tsp baking soda 6g
1 tsp salt 6g
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice 1g
1/4 tsp cardamom 500mg
1/4 tsp nutmeg 500mg
1/2 cup granulated sugar 100g
1/4 cup brown sugar 50g
1/2 cup unsalted butter 113g room temperature
2 tbsp plain yogurt 30g
2 eggs large
3 ripe bananas mashed about 1 1/2 cups
1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips 265g
1 tsp vanilla 5mL

I made this today and it was absolutely DELICIOUS 🥰🥰♥️ I just added 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Didn’t add any more sugar since the bananas were already sweet and ripe. My whole family loved it ! Thank you so much for the recipe 🥰🥰🥰♥️
I made it today & it is amazing!!! So moist, it just melts in the mouth. The best part is my 41/2 said it was yummy and wanted more!!!! I dont bake, but you just inspire me to try more even if i fail at baking sometimes, so thank you for that!!!😍 I used almond flour and tapioca flour!

This is the best banana bread recipe I’ve tried! It’s so good 😊 I made it with my daughter and it was easy and fun. Most recipes have a very wet batter that takes a long time to cook and is almost always underdone at the core and is very dense. Not here! This baked up fluffy and light. The batter held together nicely and the chocolate chips didn’t just sink to the bottom. This is my new go to banana recipe. Thank you 💕💕
I made this today and my chocolate chips all sunk. Is that an indication of a batter that's too wet?

I love your channel! I just made this today and it turned out amazing! I did add a tad more flour because my batter looked a bit wet. Probably because I used one frozen banana and it made my wet ingredients a bit more runny. The slight addition of flour did the trick. Thank you for the amazing recipe. So moist and fluffy! My family loved it!

I baked this as a traybake because I didnt have a loaf pan and it's the softest and most flavoursome banana bread I've ever made.

Amazing recipe! I love that it's really versatile and allows for one's own touches. For example, I added more ripe bananas (instead of the yogurt), more spices, and toasted walnuts. The end result was absolutely delicious--Moist, decadent...to die for! Thank you for this recipe and all of your other gems! By the way, weighing my ingredients has been a game changer!
It’s New Year’s day right now, Jan 1st. I just made this and it turned out much better than expected. It’s so chocolatey and smells incredibly good. Beyond all of that, it’s my first cake in 2021 and hopefully all the baked goods I will make in 2021 will be as good as this 🥳

Please make more oil based recipes. In some countries butter is super pricey. Like mine! And margarine is yucky! Thank you for all these great recipes though.
Mercy Namikoye You can substitute oil for butter in most recipes. Just make sure you “cream” the eggs, sugar, & oil. If the recipe calls for creaming the butter. The whipped eggs will give the volume you need. ruclips.net/video/46STwatejBQ/видео.html

U could use margarine since it's expensive in africa
I use margarine all the time since it’s much cheaper and I’ve experimented with the same recipe using butter and margarine and there’s hardly any difference with most things. You can’t even tell once it’s baked! :)
Charlee Wicks sameeeee! My parents never buy butter since it’s so expensive we always use margarine ! There is no difference at all I even use it to make buttercream!

I melted the sugar in the melted butter as that was one of yhe options.. Also the lonk to the receipe doesnt have the complete ingredients which uve mentioned in the video... I found my parchment folded over the top of the pan. Next loaf I folded a crease onto the "handles" and secured them with a binder clip. Clips weighted the handles down outside the pan Worked great.

My banana bread turned out soooo soft and moist and absolutely delicious 😍 my bananas were already ripe but I wanted to extract that extra sweetness so I would definitely recommend roasting them for 10 min even if they’re ripe, it gave a stronger banana flavor and sweetness. The crust was nice and crunchy while the inside was moist. SIDE NOTE: follow the video here with the ingredients and measurements because the recipe on john’s blog is not updated I believe.

Will attest that this is the best banana loaf/bread recipe I've tested so far. I don't even have a mixer and I did not add any yogurt and cardamom, it still came out delicious and moist.
My daughter (she's six) and I tried out your recipe, but we substituted the all purpose flour with corn meal and whole wheat flour, and it still turned out to be delicious! My daughter loves the cake, and she really liked your video. :)

Would you consider making a Peach Melba Cake with a Peach Puree Filling on one layer & raspberry puree/jam on the other layer then, Frosted with a Peach scented Italian Buttercream? I used to get this cake at a French Pastry Shop in NY that is no longer in business.

Just made this recipe except gluten free, as I have celiac disease. It was really good, also used only half the amount of chocolate chips as they were mini and are more dispersed in the batter.
