I once booked a flight from Vienna to Barcelona for 40€, it took off 8 hours too late but the flight company paid me 250€ for it, now thats cheap hahah

Good thing is that in the EU, compensation is based on distance so you can get 250€ even if your flight was like 10€ :)

It’s crazy how 40 isn’t cheap for a flight in Europe and you guys regularly get flights for 10 because in America 40 would be unheard of lol
America is cheap in general but anything that has to do with plane/train is super expensive for no reason at all i live in norway luckely i live in a big city so i can get to amsterdam for 30$. Then from there to london fro 5$ or anywhere in europe super cheap

There are airlines like Ryanair or Wizzair, if they have flight for 10€ let’s say it is donated (around 50€) by government by the city where they want to promote more tourism, so airlines air 60€ for that flight. I remember in US was bluejet airlines they had flight from Miami to Lima for 20$, I don’t know how they did it and if it was also donated by government, but there was an option, so maybe you still have some supercheap flights there and you just don’t know?

Wish you were in Hamburg longer, it's my hometown. There aren't that many people that visit Hamburg because everybody just cares about Berlin, Munich and maybe Frankfurt/Cologne in Germany.. but Hamburg? Not so much! It's beautiful, you gotta come back some day.
You missed your train to the airport because they split it in half at some point. One half goes to the airport, the other one goes a different route and for tourists it's super easy to mess up with that, even locals hate it. I knew exactly where you were and I've been there as well..

i travelled solo a lot during uni when i was on exchange in canada and europe. i thought it was easy to get around alone. great public transport system, easy to navigate. Ben lives in the UK so i’m sure it’s even easier for him to travel around europe since there’s very little customs borders. and i would think he’s been travelling a lot his entire life

i had the same thing about "paying for late chack in" when i was flying from paris to belgrade by wizzair, but it was my 10th wizzair flight that month so i was just like "dont be rediculus, i never paid for check in in my hundred of flights this month" and check in guy just called someone and after that just let me go hahah

The thing that happened in Hamburg was that the first 3 carriages from central station go to the airport and the last 3 go to another place, hence why you didn’t end up at the airport.

You can do a similar video with interrail instead of flying. It's a train pass for all of europe and lots of the trains are overnight so you can sleep on the train and wake up in another country. I think for a week it was less than 300 euros
