There's no way to communicate to someone that you have them and give them back, especially in tourist destination. It's not like a wallet where you usually have ID, so you give the wallet to the police.

You know, to check the tracker you _could have_ just ask your friend to hide somewhere in the city without you knowing and have the earphones on him... You didn't have to actually let someone steal it

well I mean he didnt really steal them. If I found airpods I would also take them home so theyre not left outside on the floor and later get them somewhere were they collect found things for the people who lost them to pickup

Bali is the best! It’s pretty cool that you were able to find them. There was a guy in America who searched for his iPhone. He found them, but was shot dead in the process. Really happy you’re back online.

This shows just what modern technology is capable of. Without the existence of that tracker, it would've been impossible to find them. It may not be perfect, but it made finding a needle in a haystack a whole lot easier. You are so real, showing us your mistakes and how you couldn’t find your friend's AirPods at first. Finding yours in Bali to make up for it was such a redemption arc. That guy was so humble, I thought he'd not give it back, but he was more than happy to. You didn't have to give him the money but he deserved it for his honesty! What a trip with a great ending!

Bro the same thing happened to me. I was on a 14 hour flight from Newark to Hong Kong. 6 hours in we were above Greenland, and we had to turn around and come back to Toronto because a person had a stroke. Good to know that it wasn’t happened to only me 😅

This happened to me too!! dropped them in a parking lot and the next day appeared online. Tracked them to the location and a painter had picked them up... It felt like a miracle!!!! Find My's location is damn accurate

I did the same thing when my backpack got stolen in Paris. I had my AirPods Pro inside. I managed to track it to this appointment outside of Paris. Got the police to get a warrant for getting inside but the police couldn’t find it. Even though It was connected! And could play sounds… and that was it. I lost my AirPods along with my iPad MacBook and my passport money… spent 8 weeks to apply for a temporary passport in London. Wish I was as lucky as you!😢
