I won't lie, when you guys left and went away from the car stuff I was worried. I loved your car stuff at the previous channel and wasn't sure how I would feel about this new direction, but I find myself fully engaged on each video. Excellent work guys!
I'm actually loving this channel waaay more than I thought I would. It's weirdly my favourite out of the 3 Auto Alex channels, and my petrol head can't understand it 😅
Channel budget jokes aside, these kinds of videos are infinitely more interesting than what "We took the most expensive flight/were in the most expensive hotel" would ever be.
I previously had cause to make weekend trips from Edinburgh to Charlton, in South East London. The train was so expensive that it was cheaper to pay to park my car at Edinburgh airport for the weekend, get a return flight to Stansted, rent a Picanto (or car of equivalent size) to get me from Stansted to Charlton and back, and pay for fuel. When Ryanair stopped doing those cheap flights, the train was still more expensive than just doing an ~820 mile round trip in my Mk7 Celica VVTi at the time. Trains are literally priced like they don’t want people on them.
Genuinely this is already my favourite channel on RUclips and I watch a LOT of shit on RUclips. This is the only channel that I think you two are living the dream, just being everyone's favourite prats and hopefully earning a living at the same time! I hope this long continues!
Yeah but the cost of all the food would add up enormously with prices there, but you would be able to just cook something yourself in that little apartment I guess.
I wasn't sure about this channel venture when you both started it coming from automotive content. However I'm so elated you both did as all the gear has become my favourite of all the auto Alex empire channels
A lot of those cheap flights are just so the airlines reserve their landing places at airports and/or have planes where they need them for the next flight - it does help that jet fuel isn't taxed anywhere near what it should be, petrol and diesel pay 53p per litre in duty and 20% VAT on the total price (so a £1.50 litre, is 78p tax and VAT), jet fuel pays 38p duty and no VAT.
As others said, it blows my mind how much I enjoy this content more than car videos. You two are legends together and I hope you continue to make these random videos.
My mate was in Germany recently. Nearly unlimited public transport usage for the entire country for a month for €49. The only exception was the ICE train, which was extra. UK prices are insanity.
Cheaper, yes, but much more inconvenient and slower. And that's why trains are so expensive - even the Shinkansen in Japan is more expensive than flying yet it's overall faster. So it's more expensive in return. I hate it but I can't do anything about it, that's the price of convenience
@@pleeplerEven factoring in the time having to wait around at the airport, flying from London to Edinburgh takes around the same amount of time as taking the train, while also being significantly cheaper.
@@drunkenhobo8020 Yeah, the German public transport pass for fifty Euro for the whole country is nuts. Here in Stockholm, it's 100 and that's only for the county.
Each video just gets better than the last. No flashy gimmicks just two mates having a laugh and a great time. Billund looks lovely as well, going to add it to my list of places to visit next year. I want to eat lego food (no touching another man's sausage tip though!).
I feel like you're my mates at this point. Fucking love you guys. Best vibes ever. Jack is a lovely chap and fucking cracks me up to no end and Ethan is exactly the kind of person I'd meet randomly and instantly get along with. Both lovely chaps tbh. I always forget Car Throttle even existed or that these two were even in the automotive youtube world watching their vids. Awesome chemistry, great editing, properly good cinematographic shots, especially the Iceland vid, fuuuckiiing smashing. Fucking love this channel so much xxx
The moment I saw the blue line in the airport I knew instantly it was Billund! I went there with my family recently and it is an awesome place if you have kids. It's insane to me you can fly for cheaper than the cost of two beers there. While out there I got a lift to and from the nearest parkrun from a local (30 mins away) after contacting them on Facebook, super friendly people. We also ended up staying for an extra night to fly back on a Monday because the difference was about £150 per person to fly back on the Sunday - great video guys, really enjoying this content!
I new where you were exactly were when the preview shot of the tree made of certain plastic objects,. (no to ruin the video) I used to be a bit of a nerd for collecting that stuff haha
After visiting Copenhagen earlier this year we travelled over to Billund to fly home, it is exactly as you described. Although the aqua park of Lalandia was fairly decent. Also, for any lego enthusiasts, there is a small newsagents in Billund that sells larger sets for insane discounts - the trouble is getting them back on the plane!
Can you let us know which one is that? I’m planning to come back next year with my kids, I found that in Legoland, the selection was underwhelming. Although I enjoyed building my own mini figure at Lego Tivoli Garden.
@@roberttajeb9570 To be honest I can't remember the exact name. I do remember it being very close to the Lego House itself, however, which should narrow it down. The Lego store in Billund airport was quite good too!
Billund, great! The moment, when ethan says: I had that exact one: I had the exact set in the box below and most of it might still exist somewhere in my fathers attic...
I love this channel. As every other channel gets bigger and spends more money, they lose touch with the core audience and the content isnt as relatable as when they first started. But you guys doing this cheaper, budget friendly content gives more of an everymans feel and it's really enjoyable. So much so that it has me looking into cheap flights just for a spontaneous budget weekend getaway with the wife.
This is fast becoming my favourite channel! Love the randomness of the videos and how relatable they all are 👍 (let's admit it, we've all wondered at some point, "I wonder if I could camp on that roundabout?"😂) It's like the inside of every bloke's head coming into reality. Love it!
UK travel and accommodation is outrageous. In the last few months I've had business trips to London, Dubai, and Cape Town. From my base in the North of Scotland London was by far the most expensive trip. Admittedly, it's 10 quid a pint in Dubai.
You were so right to go to Lego House rather than LegoLand as the amusement park is fun n all, but the House is exactly that, the home of the brick. The experience is pretty magical if like me you’re an Adult Fan of Lego, but it was cool to see how you both enjoyed it - it’s a cool place eh! Food in Denmark is generally fab but expensive as you saw, and honestly that is the vibe of the place all the time, even in peak season - folk are just genuinely delightful to deal with no matter the purpose of the encounter. The other gems include the exclusive, only available at Lego House sets and the most Wheelchair Accessible airport I’ve ever travelled through (motorised isle chairs plugged in at every gate! Iykyk!) I’m absolutely loving your channel generally but this was a real treat. Well done guys :)
Love that you can get flights this cheap. Recently found out myself and realised that I could spend a day in another country for less than a day in London and spent £17 to fly to Helsinki and back on the same day. One of the best days of my life, since done it to Venice and have Paris booked. much cooler experience than a day in your own city and for the same or less money
Best one (along with Japan, and Iceland....) yet. And yes - I knew it was Billund before you said it. It really is an excellent trip however old you are. Danish - Danish TIP- Buy a huge family sized pastry and cut slices off it - covered 4 of us for morning and afternoon snacks!
Need a classic ethan, jack and alex road trip a nice hour or 2 special to showcase how far you guys have come and to make some television you can look back and be dead proud of
This reminded me of the student who went living abroad and take easyJet to his school or the friends that met up in Spain because that was cheaper then the train fare from Manchester to London...
I recently looked at getting the train Dundee to London - it worked out CHEAPER to drive to Edinburgh, park at the airport, fly to London and then get the Stanstead Express, and that's factoring fuel costs too. Absolutely wild.
Aw, guys you went to my home country!! But you did choose THE quietest and dullest town of all (Maybe apart from the Lego stuff) in Denmark... 🤣 And because off the Lego stuff, its so expensive there. Accommodation is normally 2-3 times more, than the rest of the country... :)
You guys should do a proper in depth van build, bring the automotive side back a little bit but can have new and cool gear in tools and camping gear as well
Awesome trip! To a place sooooo clean. The Lego cafe was crazy, but almost as memorable as the lager prices. Worried about the touching hot dog tips...
Flights can be that cheap because the aeroplane needs to get to the destination to make further scheduled flights, so the airline will sometimes still run flights at a loss with hardly any passengers on board.
Id love to see some challenges between you two or some collabs, like the recent tomska video where you had to get as far away as possible in a set time
Great video, I’m liking the Travel Man (Richard A version) vibe to these trips. Also the nice balance of travel content in terms of costs and regular vs slightly odd. However what makes the whole channel is the banter between you two, I think I could watch you watching paint dry for an hour and enjoy every minute😂😂😂😂

Where can I get a beard tho? 😭
I love the idea of Jack, perhaps the country's scruffiest man, hawking male grooming products 😂
"Touching sausage tips with you, has just sent me west" 😂💀
"Purple?"
"Yes please!"
So long as there was no friendly fire they are fine. 👍

Same! Love how this channel is progressing.
Completely agree
For sure, they are making such different content that is enjoyable to watch and not boring.
Fully enjoying this channel.
I agree with that all of that comment. Cracking channel.
They're like the old tg trio in the way they make everything they touch golden because the chemistry is perfect
Jack and Ethan do the type of things that come to my head late at night, but then I dismiss because it would be ridiculous to do. I love it.
I'm actually loving this channel waaay more than I thought I would. It's weirdly my favourite out of the 3 Auto Alex channels, and my petrol head can't understand it 😅
The best part about car channels isn't the cars, it's the adventures. This channel is just that.
@@JamesChurchill3 Exactly it was the same with top gear, the cars came second to the trios personality.
No no no. Personally, cars always first! 😎🤌🏼 Still tho, love this channel.

This randomness - i love it
Can't get enough of these budget videos!😍
Channel budget jokes aside, these kinds of videos are infinitely more interesting than what "We took the most expensive flight/were in the most expensive hotel" would ever be.
The sausage tips were hilarious and disturbing in equal measure. 😂😂 That Lego restaurant was cool AF.

No posing, just two good mates having a great time. Don’t you guys go changing now! 👍👍

Trains are literally priced like they don’t want people on them.
Now easyjet have taken the route on
On busy trains the extortionate ticket price does not even guarantee you a seat.
So.... Six quid left for the rest of the month?
Nah mate £3 each😂
Enough for three more videos :0
Genuinely this is already my favourite channel on RUclips and I watch a LOT of shit on RUclips. This is the only channel that I think you two are living the dream, just being everyone's favourite prats and hopefully earning a living at the same time! I hope this long continues!
Also I have immediately booked flights there in november
So for the price of the return flights you could stay at the hotel for the rest of the weekend and go home on Monday for £15... to a very angry wife
And coming back 2 stone heavier, because apparently all there is to do in Billund is lego, beers, and pastries.
Yeah but the cost of all the food would add up enormously with prices there, but you would be able to just cook something yourself in that little apartment I guess.
Love your work guys, keep it simple, keep the videos and the banter coming. Quality entertainment.

Adventures sometimes don’t need to cost an arm and a leg
Less money tends to equal more adventure. More money tends to equal more comfort.
Pastry goblin needs to be the next t-shirt 😂😂
The Billund tourist office needs to employ you both. Absolutely loving the new channel. Best thing on RUclips right now
It's probably cheaper to fly to another country and then to Edinburgh, and vice versa, than a return ticket on the train.
I seem to remember something on the radio a few years ago about it being cheaper to go from the south of England to the north if you go via Munich 😂
