    I can’t believe gems like these exist on RUclips! Do you know if it’s possible to get into an mbb firm as a current student studying architecture and civil engineering at a Target(Cambridge)? Thanks!

    Cool, another great video, thanks!
    One thing to consider about these LinkedIn statistics is that LinkedIn itself might not be equally used all around the world. So some of the country comparisons might be wrong because of that.

    Great advice! LinkedIn is a really good way to see what background people have in the field you want to get into, or maybe to find out where alumni from your university ended up, to get some inspiration.

    Would you consider making a video about how non-business degrees are relevant / valuable in management consulting?
    Entering the industry straight out of an engineering degree or more lateral movement?
    Looking forwards to it!

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  3 года назад +5

      Hi Kevin, yes sounds like a good topic. Indeed, especially the MBB firms do hire a sizeable number of non-business graduates. Stay tuned! Best, Heinrich

    Thanks for another great video! Your tips and comments are always great and helped me advance in my career already! Thank you!
    I have a question regarding work for MBB firms on paths other than traditional consulting. How are paths like expert or knowledge (where you work directly with clients but specialize on some topics) positions perceived later by other companies, MBA Admissions etc?

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jack, main division is client-facing vs. non-client facing. Expert roles can be client-facing (depends on the exact role), knowledge roles are usually not client-facing. Best, Heinrich

    Thanks for the advice! I will graduate from my msc in summer 2023 (Marketing at Erasmus University Rotterdam). I did student jobs where i gained experience but did not do an internship. Do you think I will have a chance to get an associate job at McKinsey?

      Not impossible, but definitely challenging without relevant internships. Maybe still time do do one? Best, H

    Great Info Heinrich, I am finishing my M.Sc. in mechanical engineering next week and was just wondering how many engineers work at the MBB firms! I was looking into consulting but was hired already by an OEM in Stuttgart starting August. I am thinking about joining consulting after a few years, is that common or do you have any tips on that?
    Grüsse ausm Ländle!

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  3 года назад +2

      Hi, thanks for your comment! Yes, joining MBB after some years at an OEM is definitely possible :) Automotive is quite a large sector in consulting, especially in Germany. Will also depend on what exactly you do at the OEM though. Lots of success to you!! Best, Heinrich

    Heinrich,
    I've seen a recent trend in MBB,
    That they are hiring more people in Tech for Product Management, UI, UX positions,
    Would you like to have a take on this matter?

    • @FirmLearning

      Hi Fabian,
      Yes this is definitely true! Many firms built their own capabilities to support clients in eg. prototyping new product ideas, develop apps and similar tasks. Just part of becoming a full-service provider for consulting-related tasks.
      Best, Heinrich

    Hey ich möchte in Deutschland arbeiten aber mein Deutsch ist leider nicht so gut wie es vorher war! (War 14 Jahre alt wenn ich nach England gezogen bin). Meine Frage ist, wie kann ich "business german" lernen und es zu consulting level bringen.( kann Deutsch einwandfrei verstehen, aber kann mich leider nicht mehr so äußern wie ich möchte)

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  3 года назад +2

      Hi Aneesa, wenn du solide sprichst und Deutsche bist wird das normalerweise ausreichen. Das Business German wird dann schon schnell dazukommen. Zudem wird auf vielen Projekten auch auf Englisch gearbeitet, zumindest in der schriftlichen Kommunikation. Weiß natürlich nicht genau wie gut du sprichst, aber würde mir da nicht zu viele Sorgen machen. Viel Erfolg!! LG, Heinrich
