And I can attest to using anything but ford glow plugs, The shop I had looking over somethings charged me $160 for the junk auto lite plugs. I pulled one to do a glow test and it bubbled up the end after glowing for about 4 seconds! I had to grind the bubble out just to put it back in rendering in useless. Luckily for me they also charged me 260 for a relay/controller they didn't actually replace so the glow plugs never had one heat cycle on them so I can pull he rest easily and put motorcraft ones in and run my relay to a push button.

I hope you can get your money back on the fact they didn't do the work they charged you for. I would turn them into the BAR association if they wont give you money back!!!

Thank you for making these videos! I had a question. My 6.9 has a hole in the drivers side exhaust manifold that someone tried to weld and made it worse, I'm think a previous owner was trying to install a pyrometer? anyway I can't get to the bolts the way it sits in the truck and was thinking about pulling the head on that side to replace it. Now my question is if I can pull the head without removing the fuel pump and intake manifold?

I would start it up and get the manifold hot than hit the bolt with wax. or hit them before you heat it up and get it soak in as it heats up.
than hit the heads square with a hammer to stock/break the rust loose and try to take them out.
if you cant get them out you will have to take the whole top of the motor off to get the head off.
yeah live and learn...motorcraft glow plugs are the ONLY way to go with these motors!!!

@@dregsdiesel the problem is access I cant get to the bolts that hold the manifold on, I don't need to remove the head to clean out the cylinder just to get to the manifold bolts.
