Man it's always nice to see a youtuber reading comments and taking into account how to be better. Those shots of the 80 driving around are money. That ram ball placement on the 80 is killer too.
if you like that solo stove, check out the Kelly Kettle. Boils water fast. and can still cook on it. it's essentially a rocket stove with water that boils on chimney. We love ours. had it for nearly a decade now.
@last line of defense - I have a similar platform and mattress setup in my 4Runner. I noticed that when I put reflectix up on my side and rear windows, it kept the cabin about 10-15 degrees warmer on cold winter nights, and act like blackout shades for the morning. Much more comfortable. Plenty of Reflectix vids on the tube. 🤙🏼
I know it's stalker creepy but, have I mentioned how much I love the way the Land Cruiser turned out....? 4-5 times now since you revealed it is all. Dude, that color. Nailed it!
Great video! One comment on external fuel container not available in U.S. As a D.O.T. employee, we were forced to change external fuel cells to approved steel safety cells due to static discharges caused by plastic/vinyl containers causing unstable fire/explosion conditions. Keep up the great vids!
man, love your videos simple words but big meaning for my family. soon i am gonna do a trip from florida to colorado to my cousin he live in boulder colorado then to yellowstone. and this is thanks to you feel proud of your self . thanks you very much!!!!!
Loved the content in this episode of Weekenderlander. The time lapses of driving are awesome and as always your unique music choice makes the videos that much better. Keep rocking Mike!
👍🏻Another great video. The footage from mounting the camera on the back of your buddy’s rig and from when you mounted it to your rig is awesome. Keep up the great work. The sound track is phenomenal. Music makes everything better.
The LandCruiser is awesome! Saving for one now, so I can’t wait to go back and watch the videos in sequence for the story there. Have friends in Ouray, and can’t wait to visit. Great channel, LLOD!
I like the ARB front bumper with the antenna mount. I had a 4Runner before with the same bumper and had my CB antenna mounted there and seemed to work good. Like the idea of sleeping inside the truck with it being partially insulted. Great music to go along with vid. Will take a look at the Jackery, sounds like a good idea.
Nice, short (probably good for those who only want to spend a few minutes in YT. Me? I enjoy the vids that are fully developed with perhaps a little more exploring; kinda the reason I want to do overlanding as well)...loved the ambiance of the bon fire, "high-end" food tasting from Patagonia...I enjoy seeing how you use different products with pro's and con's. Keep 'em rolling! Thanks, Mike
good comment at 13:40! I'm nervous around people making bonfires when its so dry. some people don't make any attempt at precautions too. I just bout want to head out of the forest when I see that stuff. my5 gallon water also froze solid and it was interior mounted but I wasn't inside my car to warm it up. I;m thinking of just utilizing a large bottle for the sleeping bag trick and morning water activities.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I just came across the weekenderlander series and enjoyed them. Keep them coming and just a side note..... I am also a weekenderlander and enjoy the heck out of it!! Going out next weekend here in Montana
Started watching your channel years ago in Seattle and just recently moved to Colorado because my wife got a job here. Like you I went camping in my Rubicon over Halloween weekend and got micro holes in my Arcteryx from the bonfire and also had my scepter water can freeze. Lol good times! We were in Buena Vista at about 10,000 feet
To cut down on waste and clean up time, you can put the hot water directly in the oatmeal packs. theres a fill line on the side showing how much water to put in.
Awesome adventure as usual !! What about some info of the places you go camping around the great state of Colorado. Any history there worth to mention !! Love the land cruiser. Wich one would you use for a week long camping trip?? Taco ? Land cruiser??
Another great one in the books🤘. Yeah we love seeing these weekenderlander vids keep em coming, I like how much gear you show off in the videos and even some of your buddies setups as well. Let’s see some more of the land cruiser as well I’d love to watch that build come together.
Another great video, thank you for taking us along. Milwaukee makes a great electric chainsaw and the batteries can be charged off from and inverter too.
Yep, that’s what I think we all love. Putting you money where your mouth is, so to speak. Ya got out there, ya braved the weather, you used the products you indorse. And you did a great job of it! But damn.... I was out this past weekend in a T-shirt, got sunburned, slept in my rooftop with barely a cover on, and fished. Oh yeah... I’m in Florida ! Haha.
😂😂😂buddy I know how you just love the winter weather, cold 🥶 it’s good to see some over night trips I’m spending this winter working my making my truck equipment better more room and more efficiently for more overnight 🔥🤠🔥campingruss out
Love the setup! I like the trip videos with a little gear review during the trip. I have an old Isuzu vehicross out in Colorado now but I’m building a 3rd gen 4Runner and like seeing rig walk arounds as well.
Reminds me of the days when I camped in the ole FJ65. I wish I still had her but had to let it go. I have an F150 Lariat lifted I am thinking of rigging out but she is a bit large so I just don't know yet. Great video.
Here’s a tip for getting rid or the salt. Take it out of the packaging and boil it in water. You get rid of the salt and preservatives and it’s a much more natural flavour.
Love the Land Cruiser! I noticed you were using a Teton sleeping bag...the last time I used one (0-degree, that looked a lot like yours) I got very, very cold...also sleeping inside my rig...20-degrees outside. I hope yours worked better!
Nice video. I found a Husqvarna hand forged axe (26 inch) that is a beast and was under $90. If you are going to try out axes I suggest trying that one. Does an excellent job, hand forged and really affordable....can’t beat that. Keep the vids coming.
On your next trip try different fire starters. I use dryer lint with petroleum jelly for fire starter. Nice trip I like the drone shots while your driving.
Love your FJ 80! I sure miss mine ( 1991) even though I drive a 5th Gen 4RUNNER.. the 80 is special. Show more off-road capabilities detailing if and when you need the lockers..
Great video! I know that road well and your camping spot - won’t mention it here online so we don’t have more crowds there than we already have to deal with 😀. I almost went out there this last weekend to do a little shooting, but domestic chores got in the way so I didn’t go and missed you! We’ll see you out there. I drive a 2020 TRD Pro in Army green, still completely stock, but already looking for mods. One recommendation for Phil is to put a wood chopping block under the log he is cutting with the axe - it will absorb the shock and make quicker work of the wood. Especially the Aspens👍 Cheers!
I forgot to film a dedicated intro, but I promise that I still hope you've been well!
maybe move the water inside at night, or take bottle water as backup. great vid as always.
Lol true as when it started I’m like “did I ff or something “
Can’t forget that. You need “hope you’ve been well” patches. I’d buy that. Positive message
Why not use snow tire for winter?
Last Line Of Defense Should have brought some ST. Bernard us ABT 12 Belgian ale
Music on this one was choice. You always kill it with the tunes. 👌
Thanks man - glad you liked it!
Totally agree, love the music in LLOD videos
That synthwave
“Philip was suppose to bring some wood”....He didn’t. LMAO. In the background Phil is working his butt off chopping up two whole trees! #friendgoals!
while he pops a girly drink... strawberry rhubarb... dude... seriously? ;-)
@@captcooper5159 LMAO a girly drink? what's a manly drink then?
@@Tigerlui531 guinness
Dude love those spontaneous bonfire trips just because camping. Greta stuff, now I have my eyes on a FJ-80. Lol
I love winter camping. No bugs, less dust, crisp air. Looks like you have some nice places for that in Colorado!
I too have a GFB Small Forest Axe. Last camping trip, I used my nephew's Milwaukee Skill Saw for cutting firewood - fast and easy.
@last line of defense - I have a similar platform and mattress setup in my 4Runner. I noticed that when I put reflectix up on my side and rear windows, it kept the cabin about 10-15 degrees warmer on cold winter nights, and act like blackout shades for the morning. Love the drone shots they bring your videos over the top!
Love me some 80 Series!
same same
I know it's stalker creepy but, have I mentioned how much I love the way the Land Cruiser turned out....? 4-5 times now since you revealed it is all. Dude, that color. Nailed it!
Really enjoyed this video! I really appreciate when you show gear you're using during a trip.
Thanks! Yeah people sometimes give me a hard time for using more gear than I need to, but I'm always testing gear, so i kind of have to, haha.
Loving the landcruiser content! Looks like a fun trip! I'm going to have to try and get the wife to go on a trip this winter with me!
Haha bring an heated blanket - it's a game changer for the women (I think it's great too).
Great video! One comment on external fuel container not available in U.S.
As a D.O.T. employee, we were forced to change external fuel cells to approved steel safety cells due to static discharges caused by plastic/vinyl containers causing unstable fire/explosion conditions.
Keep up the great vids!
I would love to see more 80 Series stuff! Awesome channel.
I find your videos both informative and entertaining.
Love all the 80’s style electronic music! Also love all the content. Thanks! Keep it coming!
This was so awesome, thanks for sharing the adventure! Love the setups
Thanks for joining along!
man, love your videos simple words but big meaning for my family. soon i am gonna do a trip from florida to colorado to my cousin he live in boulder colorado then to yellowstone. and this is thanks to you feel proud of your self . thanks you very much!!!!!

"hope it doesn't need to be too precise.." as they film the measurement lines on the inside of the pot haha

I personally love the music in these videos. That 80’s retro was sick🤘🏼
Thanks for sharing this video.,enjoyed the ride!

Great Divide and Avery make some good brews! I have an oak barrel aged Yeti in my fridge waiting for a special occasion.
Another great video, thank you for taking us along. Milwaukee makes a great electric chainsaw and the batteries can be charged off from and inverter too.
Yeah I have a similar Dewalt one, works surprisingly well.

Love your chill personality! Looks like fun times
The chillness helps me not get too hurt by the mean youtube comments out there, haha - thanks for the kind words!
I'd love to see a video of things you used to use and why you no longer use it. Call it the Junkyard video or something like it
So so love these videos!! I literally wait impatiently for them 🤷♂️
Another relaxing vid. As everyone has stated, great tunes.
Love the scenery there. Thanks for sharing.

Not until summer when it's 100 degrees and 90 percent humidity here. I'll be in Colorado this summer as soon as the passes open up.
More content like this! This is awesome

Solo stove rocks. I have 2 of them

Great content as always. Appreciated the beginning showing off some of the gear too. Keep it up👍🏻
"It'll burn anything that's you know, burnable... "
Sometimes I put out some pretty good words of wisdom...
Those are some true words right there.
Super glad the music is back!
Here’s a tip for getting rid or the salt. Take it out of the packaging and boil it in water. You get rid of the salt and preservatives and it’s a much more natural flavour.
Man what an awesome vid! Inspires me to go camping again! Thanks for this!
Yes. The music is back. Keep up the great work!
Another great video with awesome content ! Sweet music .
I went tent camping in Colorado when it was 5 below once. Never again!
I loved the cooking scene
Love the video. Love the Channel. Just picked up our Treeline Outdoor Roof Top Tent today. We can't wait to get out... Merry Christmas.

Great vid! I was going to wait till the spring to start camping again but not now!

I think the machete is a parang. not sure.
jajajajaja totally right . 80's action movie theme. Made me think of Cobra with Sly Stalone.
