So there’s something I was the first to notice regarding the typeset of the NIV Study Bible from Zondervan(and the Grace and Truth Study Bible as well). What is it? You will have to watch the video to find out! Meanwhile, they now offer essential guides for Genesis, Psalms, Matthew and Romans. These are set-up like workbooks and can be used in a classroom setting, or you can just get one and go through it yourself. The NIV Study Bible (not to be confused with the old one by a similar title that is now the Biblical Theology Study Bible, D.A. Carson) bible has several unique features to include color coded sections based on literary style, and color coded symbols in the commentary (trowel, seedling, and character) to indicate what type of study note you are reading. References are in the center of the two column text, and the font is 9pt. This one is really set up nice. Check the links below if you are interested! Links below are affiliate links. Churchsource.com, and Christianbook.com are good sources as well, but if you have Prime, the free shipping saves you money. Great work Tim. I was shying away from this Bible (I have the hardbound), but I pretty much spent my early adulthood with a Life Application Study Bible, which was fine, but I was looking for something new. Will have to try it out. Great stuff!
I like the older version before they updated it in 2011. See for example Genesis 6 and how they say "humans" (daughters of humans rather than daughters of men) rather than "man" or "mankind" as they try to be gender neutral and woke, it just reads weird. I do like how they updated the notes and resources in this but prefer the OG 1984 NIV.
Whoa! You are too good Tim! Thanks so much for all the good info. Thank you for the video. I just ordered the D.A. Carson one yesterday but now I am going to have to pick this one up as well! Very nice!!!
I was watching your video with the three Tim's and I heard your story and you said you were from Eton. I live 2 miles from your church. I appreciate the work you do as a bible reviewer.
I really wasn’t thinking I’d be interested in this Format and/or back to the NIV, but I loved this review and I think I might check this one out. There is something about the hardcovers that turn me off (text book looking) , and it always seems the hardcovers’ text seems to run into the gutter.
Great review. Thanks Pastor Tim. That study guide looks great. In BSF now we’re going thru Matthew and it would be great to have it. Questions: do you need to have the NIV Study Bible to use the guide? Does the NIV Study Bible have a Calvinist bent as so many do? Can you get the Study Bible in the Premium Collection? Sorry to load you with those questions. 🥲
It doesn’t come in premium, the study guide can be stand alone but it’s nice to have the study bible with it. I don’t believe the notes have a Calvinist bend to them.

Thanks Tim, The NIV Study Bible is a classic. I still have a couple from the 80’s.

Nice review 👍 and I noticed that you have the camera zooming in closer. Also I'm impressed that you noticed the different comfort prints.
Thanks. Someone mentioned the camera work on the last video under a different name. Do you have two accounts?
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews no, but I saw their comment on the NRSVCE video and I could tell that you listened (which is pretty cool 😎).

Yep. I pastor a church in Etown!
G'day Tim, I just bought the large print in the NIV Study Bible. As you stated, it is simply an outstanding bible. I always love your reviews.
Thanks Tim, I have one of these in hard cover, realy great Study Bible. Blessings from New Zealand
Tq sir for the review today I've got mine Iam really enjoying the Bible

I wonder how the Zondervan NIV Study Bible compares to the Crossway ESV Study Bible. I like the commentary at the bible of the pages.
Totally different scholars. But most translation study bibles have a similar format.
Matched the blue Bibles with the blue shirt ;-)
I had the NIV study bible but lost it in a house fire in February
Sorry to hear that.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews thank you
