    In 1987 I got the 1985 version of the NIV study Bible. It has been my favorite and most used Bible Now I am going to get the new one. Thanks for the great review

      THANKS For watching and sharing!!! If it's a bible you're gonna use all the time make sure to check out the genuine leather options if you like a soft cover. May the road rise to meet you!

    In addition to the useful study resources contained within it, my personal favorite edition of this Study Bible is the indexed one with navy/tan imitation leather. It's proving to be quite sturdy thus far.

    I agree on the ribbons. I can’t have enough of them and I have actually sewed my own coloured ribbons onto my leather TNIV Bible. I’ve got lots of fave passages. Ribbons really help.

    I really appreciated your review of this study Bible. Too many reviews are superficial. You've gone in depth enough for me to better assess whether I want to purchase this. I'm also color-blind and the colored aspect of this study Bible was a concern. It sounds like it works well for you. Best regards to you and thank you for this commentary.

      Glad it was helpful! I try to keep it real. Cause it’s no help to try to “sell” them all. The hanks for the encouragement and comments!!

    This study Bible looks so beautiful and useful! Thanks again for a great thorough review! Just wondering, are the study notes in this Bible leaning towards "reformed" in terms of soteriology? I know my favorite study Bibles are typically reformed.

    • @ClaimingChristianity
      @ClaimingChristianity  Год назад +1

      Glad it was helpful. I wouldn’t say reformed. If I had to choose…prob more neutral.

    i also use this bible. overall i like this bible version but i really-really-really wish they could put some color on the word that have explanations below. because its a lil bit confusing to match the words and explanations. i have to highlight the words with markers.

      I actually have a bible thats all colored and for me...it get's a little "busy" and kinda bothers my eyes. (the rainbow study bible). I never reviewed it. But I can see how both are possibly confusing.

    • @ClaimingChristianity

      Slightly different types of focus in my opinion. So I wouldn’t say one is better then the other. Get both

      I seem to be taking some heat on this video and that word. I’m not sure why to be honest. Maybe you can help me understand. It’s just a word and it’s not derogatory or negative in any way.
      I’m wondering if this is one of those cases when those complaining would have a problem with setting the Bible on the floor too?
      I guess I’m not seeing where you guys are coming from??

    The Bible is referred to as "sucker?" Wow, that takes a lot of chutzpah.

      @@ClaimingChristianity It is a course word used in the world that is inappropriate for use when talking about the Bible. I wish that people would weigh the use of their words and understand that much of the vernacular used by "Christians," is irreverent. That's all.

    • @ClaimingChristianity
      @ClaimingChristianity  3 года назад +3

    Why did you change John 3:16 from Gods only begotten Son to one and only Son.. are you folks not children of God..not his Sons and Daughters? Did God not call Adam his Son.. and when you said its a sin to be angry at my brethren and I am in danger of hell.. Jesus was often angry.. was he also in danger of hell and a sinner? Well of course in the KJV its angry without a cause so Jesus is not a sinner..I know you had to change the Bible 30%to get your copyright but that is really scary that you changed those words.. I get why you took out unicorn ..you probably did not know that a Unicorn is a one horned rhino.. but you should have asked Science ..they did not change the word because a silly king did.. they still call the one horned Rhino the Unicornus.. but tell me this if I take Shakespeare and tell you its written in archaic language and your probably not bright enough to understand it,, So I take out the words I do not want and add some words, remove whole stanzas, change the meaning of some words, are you still reading Shakespeare ..

      Because in the Greek when you translate his begotten son it can mean only son or only child. Sister not meaning to be rude but don’t you have anything better to do. I love the KJV but it is only a translation it is not the inspired translation that actually does not a exist. God bless you but I have more concern with being obedient to the word and reaching the lost. Than to writer reams about a translation and have a meaningless debate that just brings contention and edifies nobody.

    Yada, yada, yada, yada, yada, Nobody cares about the dust cover, the dimensions, the spine, etc. You say, "Let's get into it." and you don't even open the Bible. OPEN THE BIBLE!!! Talk about content!

      Sorry you feel that way my friend. I've found that quite a few of the viewers end up asking about stuff like that and are interested. Maybe I'll see if I can add "chapters" in the future so you can skip the physical part. Either way...thanks for watching!
