8 Engines at Horseshoe Curve (Drone Video)

Fall is one of the best times to visit Horseshoe Curve because the colorful leaves make for a beautiful background! I recently captured a Norfolk Southern train with 8 engines going around Horseshoe Curve when the fall leaves were at their peak color.
Located in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Horseshoe Curve is one of the must-see train watching locations for railfans! As part of Norfolk Southern's busy Pittsburgh line, the triple-track curve often sees upwards of 50 trains per day, as well as Amtrak's Pennsylvanian twice daily. There is a Virtual Railfan webcam at the Horseshoe Curve rail park, making it possible for railfans to watch live railroad action around the clock.
