@@itsDarrell it's a matter of opinion, but maybe bias has something to do with it? We both may feel the need to justify our own vehicles, but I used to have a 2018 WRX and the FA20 always sounded kind of ricey to me.
As a owner of a 2015 VA WRX and now a 2024 VB WRX, I prefer the FA24DIT. The FA24DIT has a 'throatier' and deeper sound that I love! And those pops on the FA24DIT are killer! FA20DIT would occasionally pop with the similar exhaust setup. But the FA20DIT does have that nice 'whistle' which can turn a few heads.. Still, I'll take the FA24DIT!
I totally agree. I miss the FA24 for sure. But I wish the turbo whistle was more pronounced in the car but it's a much stronger engine and sounds deeper for sure!
Fa20 got that nice Turbo whistle🤤 I think they both sound good, but the VB is obnoxiously loud on cold start and all the exhausts have drone besides Tomei and AWE touring only downside. I want to run axle backs but I wake my whole house up with a stock exhaust-its so bassy I ran Awe track/GS V2 j-pipe on my 20 WRX with stratified cold start tuned out like most people and I never experienced bad drone with this setup given it was straight piped(there was some in lower rpms but it wasn't much) it sounded very good
@Zelaphiel i ran the catted 1320 dp for two years with no issues. But ever since the cobb green speed update I'm sure it will probably throw a CEL but all of them pretty much do now
@@jperez2396 smoothed the powerband out a bit. Made it a little more predictable. Response when beyond the boost threshold is very good and ofc the car no longer sounds like a generic turbo 4 banger. I have an exhaust clip on my channel if you're interested in that.
Hey brother, an off topic question for you. I was wondering if you ever had the annoying shuddering trying to get into 1st gear with the ACT clutch and light weight flywheel? If so what did you do to smooth out getting into 1st gear from a stop? Just rev higher? The light flywheel loses inertia as soon as it starts to clamp.
@travisquire3386 yeah that clutch combo is finicky when starting from a stop and changing 1-2 & 2-3. I always had to shift gears faster before the rpms would drop to far. As far as starting from a stop I would just rev it slightly higher and I eventually got down a technique where I let off the clutch kind of quick rather than riding it and got pretty smooth engagement and it wasn't nearly as jerky, but it was never as smooth as a stock clutch take off.
@@StreetInspired1 Thanks a lot man for the response. I’ve been trying to find the sweet spot, rev a little higher, and let off the clutch faster. But scooting through a drive through etc is damn near impossible. At least I know Its not just me, and I need to just find that sweet spot. With the AC on it’s worse. Next time definitely going with OEM flywheel and upgraded clutch. Appreciate it again man.
@@StreetInspired1 Just wanted to give you an update after your suggestion. No matter what I did it kept shuddering from a stop, so I thought what have I changed recently? About a month ago I adjusted the clutch rod above the gas pedal out which brings the engagement point closer to the floor, because mine felt high. So basically the clutch must’ve been trying to engage super early. So I adjusted it back into the master cylinder about a 1/2 a turn and lo and behold, fixed it. The engagement point is still kind of high for my liking but from what I’ve read, all WRXs have a high engagement point. Go figure. Did you ever remove the Clutch delay valve in the slave? Thanks again man.
The fa20 turbo whistle never gets old!
Man I just wish our FA24 had the turbo exhaust noise.. that’s my fave part of the FA20s they sound awesome
I might be the minority and biased because I own an FA20 WRX but... FA20 hands down for me.
Hate the chassis but love the motor Fa24 has a deeper tone and I’m liking it
FA20 idle sounds soo good
FA24 sounds way less ricey
really? I thought the complete opposite. 20 sounds way better.

@@Nonx47 I have no bias, I love all cars lol. I think the FA def sounds better. Its got a raspier, turbo sound to it
@@itsDarrell yeah, I hear you. Raspy = ricey to me. I like a growl but some deep tones.
Awesome video, thanks!

Idk that fa24 sounds like a can with nails

FA24 all the way
I’m biased so FA20 sounds great with no mufflers.
Fa24 sounds grown up, but that fa20 turbo noises are incredible.
FA24 sounds deeper and meaner. Just a better tone. FA24 also shits on the FA20…I’ve owned and modded both.
Great video
Sounds pretty similar. Give me the 2.4L!
Good pace on the content my dude! Keep em coming sir! Let's get more subs!!
Why doesn’t the 2.4 have turbo whistle?
Both sound good IMO. It’s FA20 for me tho
Love the thumbnail.
Cammed fa20 with big turbo sounds best
They both sound good but the new 22 and up WRX looks so much better than the old one it’s a bit bigger and wider. 😃
Looks like it’s faster too lol
中々良いサウンドですね😋
If only our 24's had the turbo whistle it would be perfect.. sad times
looking to get a Jpipe soon, do you recommend the 1320 catted one? it's so affordable it's scary. Tuning with the AP, do you get a CEL with those?
@Zelaphiel i ran the catted 1320 dp for two years with no issues. But ever since the cobb green speed update I'm sure it will probably throw a CEL but all of them pretty much do now
Put UEL headers on my VB. Best choice I've made so far. Running a MBRP catback along with it. Still need a jpipe though
How are the uel treating you?

Good audio on both cars. Did you use a shotgun mic?
Some of them were filmed on a cellphone with no mic and some were filmed on a camera with a shotgun mic.
What catted j pipe for the VB?
ETS
FA20 hands doing way better.
I think the fa20 sounds better

FA20 ; I heard a dude driving chilling going 70 on the freeway I had to get behind him in my Si nd just listen to that on the way home it was amazing
