    The unequal headers actually made it sound beefy, very impressed, almost sounds like the 2.5L

    Well, well, well. We knew it would eventually come out. I love that "subie rumble" but chasing it on the VA WRX was not exactly a fruitful endevour in terms of power and , personally, i dont think it sounded as good as having a 2.5 EJ. Now with the FA24 already having a much deeper exhaust note than the FA20 i think this is not as bad of an upgrade. I like how they are keeping the twinscroll in mind. Ill be keeping an eye AND ear on this one for sure.

      @@Nonx47 I will say I'm not 100% sold. Unequal length is always something that we need to be wary about on FAs. I don't think you're ever going to get the sound that they're trying to emulate, but there definitely is a market for this header.

    You want STI sound, they need to be merged at each bank flange into 2 pipe’s instead of 4. UEL gives you the rumble but the sequential pair gives you the bass. Reducing the runner volume may also increase spool. Killer B UNholy header is the only sequentially paired FA turbo manifold I’ve seen but never heard. Sequential EL is where it’s at personally, but I understand the love for UEL.

    Hell yea!! people can complain about slight losses in HP when taking the car to the track, but when its street driven only, thats the sound we are looking for, thanks for the video as well as the development of the part.

      Diameter is only a part of the equation, and doesn’t guarantee gains if you lose velocity, and I’d be willing to bet the stock turbo isn’t big enough to where larger diameter is required. I’d argue the catalytic converters are the worst restriction. I’d like to see what an EL/twin scroll header of stock diameter will no cats can do, I bet it’ll spool a lot faster and make more power everywhere in the rpm band. UEL’s are a “form” mod, not a “functional” mod. It’s all about sound, not performance…

      Yeah agreed on the STI point. It's the best WRX to date.
      However, low steering feedback(floaty), weaker transmission, and the pads and rotors are very prone to fade. Even still, my WRX is being ordered

      The connecting rods are literally 3x thicker on the FA24 then the FA20, and the crank is beefier. It can handle that torque

    I think it's important to make a twin scroll header feeding the twinscroll turbo. Uel or EL should both pickup power. My only worry with running these single scroll headers is exhaust pulse is off and can cause back pressure issues with the cylinders fighting each other on each exhaust stroke. Cylinder 1&3 feed one scroll and 2&4 feed the other. Also becareful of not to go to big on the header pipe size feeding each cylinder, you increase flow but loose velocity.

    I think this is great. ( I had to have that subie rumble so badly, that I added an Invidia 400 on my 21 STi. My therapy. I like to think it puts me in a trance. Actually louder then I thought). To have more FA's in the new WRXs converted to what the engine should sound like to me, is essential.

    Just got my 22 VB. Fantastic chassis. I’m hoping to get whatever gains i can without a tune for the 1st year or so and also get some proper brakes for such an awesome car. Side note, any info on the wheel/tire set up on that first blue VB?

    The Second one sounds great. Is it possible to have a twinscroll V2 UEL header???
    If you release one that is twin scroll, virtually no loss of spool or power vs stock and it's price conscious I will buy it IMMEDIATELY! Are you releasing that? Keep me posted!

    Why this isn't still a from the factory trademark of WRXs perplexes me. The rumble is worth whatever side effect it is a necessary trait to driving a Subaru. Boy am I glad my stock 2008 wrx came with unequal lengths from the factory. Throw in a catless downpipe, $200 3'' pipe with a cherry bomb at your local small town exhaust shop, and you have one hell of an exhaust note.

      It’s 415 whp which is almost 485 -500 bhp. Not the fastest but still faster than what most people drive

      On e85*** which is not available everywhere. This header won’t make past 350 whp on 93... I’m looking forward to my local tuner (VEMS) doing actual tests with these, as it will be unbiased… this manifold will not outperform the stock header, at all… let’s see actual dyno overlays of both cars tuned to the max, let’s see what happens… UEL’s are a ricer mod, pure and simple. You can put UEL’s on a D series Honda, sounds the same as the “boxer” rumble…

    Wow. These sound way better than FA20 with UEL Headers. Sounds more like an EJ than the FA20 ever couldve... what size are the runners? Same diameter as the FA20 Tomei UEL Header? Idk from video they look like a smaller diameter than the Tomei. Is it possible to make these with bigger diameter runners? Not much you can do design wise unfortunately... AVO made a "slightly" UEL Header for the FA20 made for their Turbo kit. Basically they just didn't make the unequal side runners as long, idk how they sound or perform... but man this is making me consider a VB over a VA STI lol. I was going to trade my VA WRX in for an sti but idk anymore... those power numbers look very VERY tempting, and probably half the time/money spent if you were to try to get an EJ25 to those power levels. I want Subaru to release the mid life cycle refresh already, hoping they ditch the fenders with the mid life cycle refresh lol.

    Hi. I have a 3 a.m. idea. Is it possible to do a 4-3-1 UEL headers by combining cylinder 3 and 4 into one and then combine that with both cylinder 1 and 2 in a three to 1?

    could the results have something to do with not only the extra displacement, but the smaller boost and lower compression? The honest truth is, the twin scroll really woke up the low end power on these...but they made em sound like hondas. I think if you want to take the 2.4 back to unequal, the best thing to do is probably drop the TS and go with a more classic turbo. I am betting you can push close to 20lbs of boost on these but what do i know, i just watch all these awesome channels spend money on shit i cant afford to have lol.

    They second one sounds great! But I don't want to lose almost any spool. UEL should spool quicker right? That was the excuse from Subaru on the STI header design, plus is cost less. EL header is more power, mostly midrange I hear. However both probably are more power than stock (see dynoes).

    @JDMuscle USA any chance of making a twin scroll unequal length header? I think that would be cool, or make a hybrin header where around town it's unequal length but in high revs it smooths out to equal length so you have best of both worlds with power and performance.

      That’s not possible. Lmfao. The flange still has the same twin scroll flange like on the Turbo. Hence why even on EJ’s if you’re upgrading turbo’s and decide to go with a twin scroll, you need to get an equal length header to support it. Just because it’s UEL doesn’t mean that 2nd scroll on the Turbo isn’t doing anything, exhaust gasses still pass through. Lmao. When they say these UEL Headers turn it into a “single scroll” they don’t mean literally. Because of the unequal exhaust pulses it essentially just acts similarly to how a single scroll turbo would, but still not as laggy. Hence the 300-400 rpm lag in boost.

      Yes. Equal length = power, flow.
      Unequal = just for sound, restricted flow unless get tuned.

      Sounds like 3rd, most places do 4th on a 6 speed.

      KillerB makes next level products. The only 15-21 FA20 WRX I’ve ever seen make past 350 whp on the stock turbo/93 octane was running KillerB’s. 353 whp, torque was kept low to keep the stock rods happy… I’d be curious to see what KillerB does with this platform. Whatever it is I’m sure it’ll be good!

    For the money, I'll never own a Boxxer engine without the rumble. If I wanted a smooth efficient engine, I would have built an AWD K series Honda for half the price.
