How do you insert the carving knife? I can’t figure it out! ☹️
I love your accent.
Shared this with 13yo daughter. I did wood burning and crafting in my teens and just got back into it. This video helped get my daughter interested in making her own art in this medium.
I'm 48 yrs old but started to fool around with wood burning when I was about 12 yrs old with my older brothers wood burning kit. I have just rekindled my affection for it as of late and I am liking your videos . Well done and good to see the youth taking an interest in such a cool hobby . Good for you !!!
That is awesome! Love comments like these!
YOU'RE SO LIKEABLE AHHH i can't believe i found such a gemmm
i don’t need a new hobby i don’t need another hobby i don’t need another hobby

@@simonefaucher383I just got one for Christmas and I have so many hobbies already. lol
Are you trying to convince yourself?! Lol
*Starts New Hobby*
I normally just skip the boring parts of videos but your so likeable and funny that it’s hard to even skip 5 second! Love your videos xx
Some of my students want to start out burning block letters or buildings and those straight lines are a bear! So I was happy to hear you say not to do straight lines right out the shoot. 🙌🔥 I would add that the type of wood definitely makes a difference on how easy… or not… burning is. Basswood and poplar are good options and available at most craft stores.
Wow 🤩 I admire your skills! Plus having your own business at such a young age. Love learning from you. More vids please! 🥰
Awwww honestly it’s the best when lovley people like you comment such nice things!! I’ll definitely be making more like this in the future
This was super entertaining and very well edited!!! Great work
That honestly means so much coming from you! Your videos are so cinematic and beautiful I'm so grateful you liked the editing :)))
Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks, Helga. That was lovely to watch!
Awww such a lovely comment it made me smile so much thank you
I looked at your video to learn woodburning. I'm just starting out from scratch n loved your technique.. I am a lover of anything bee. You made it so easy to follow your advice. I can't wait to get started on my bee. Thank you Hegla. X
I had an interest and impulsively bought a pen. It just came in the mail and I realized while I stared at it...I have no clue what I'm doing. So far, haven't started playing around with it, but this has been super helpful before I begin anything.
Your art is so beautiful! Thanks for the tutorial. It was sooooooo helpful!
Just brought one to try your Bee is gorgeous can’t wait to play. Thank you
You are great at this, really easy to understand and likeable - I’ll be watching lots more of your videos as I learn.
I just love everything about this woman, she’s just so happy, pretty & bright, brings a good feeling to your soul..
Thanks Love 💛 I own A Gnomes Shoe Repair and am constantly practicing crafts, and this helped me out so much!!! Cant wait to make gifts for my customers ✨
Thank you very much! Your tips are very educational🥰😍🤩👍❤
Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful. I was on the fence about taking up (yet another) hobby. You have definitely converted me!
The 'Brown Halo' around the burning is a sure tell tale that you're burning with to much heat! I used to have the very same problem, until I started to burn in layers. Pine, Oak etc hold a very high amount of resin this causes the burning tip to stick and skip along the piece of wood, the resin also carbonates on the tip and lowers the heat! Apart for the not called for language thankfully bleeped out, a clear concise video 'Congratulations'. Take care 👍😷👍
This was super chill & I’m definitely ready to give this a second shot. Thank you 💥✌️
Just bought a pyrography kit and your video has helped, thank you
Aww that's so amazing I'm glad I did my job :)

Yesss I would definitely recommend it it’s so fun ☺️ And thank you so much It means a lot
First time here enjoyed the video! Enjoyed the commentary as well. Just got into wood burning.
Great video Helga. I love the look of your art.
Awww dude that’s unbelievably nice 😁😁👏
I'm looking at taking this up as a hobby, but have zero experience. Three questions:
1) Do you hand draw the images on the wood, or do it another way?
2) What do you do about smoke extraction / toxic fumes?
3) What wood burner do you use?
Thanks.
Great tutorial, I’m just beginning and I’m finding you page very helpful 👍🏽
Hi. I'm from Kazakhstan. You have a great job. I also recently started doing wood burning.👍
If your having trouble getting dark marks could it not be hot enough or pressing down too hard?
The bee is incredible btw… just started and have done three Christmas pieces
Thank you. You are using one similar to mine, and I definitely pressed it too hard 😅 making it hard to make the turns 🙈💙
Awesome work, Hegla,
both the video and the woodwork is really good. Like it
It genuinely makes my day knowing that you like the video coming from someone who is so good at filmmaking 👌
@@HeglaRUclips hey hegla, even in the comments on your videos you make such huge compliments to me, really appreciate that. thank you. i´m waiting for your next vid

by no means am I an artist when it comes to drawing anything, but since I got a lot of one of kind sawmill pieces I have a strange itch to attempt to make some... I may just completely screw up the natural beauty of it all... but I am going to make an attempt... Thanks for the tips
Amazing, i love this video! you've helped me get into a new hobby so thank you loads
Great video thank you. So calming and informative
Muito legal, simples e didática, muito linda a abelha. Obrigado pelo video.
Beautiful art. Cool creative. Big thumbs up
Awww dudeee that honesty means the WORLD to me thanks for all the positive feedback :)
You're hand is so steady👌
I've been doing this for gifts and such for some time on my own. But i did this in a way different manner (only now decided to see how others do it) and i put it on a temp like 700c and just burn small points allong the lines. Its also a nice aestetic might be cool to try, its a more time consuming method especially with whole black area's needing to be filled with little dots, also that other surrounding brown, kinda like it but to each their own i suppose
Great video! I like Tekchic and Truart wire burners too. Happy burning.
Oooo I’ve never tried that kind before actually!!
I just got a pyrography kit for my birthday today. I'm useless lol so this was very helpful xx
Wood carving is a hobby i picked up in middle school due to harry potter (tl;dr I wanted to makey own wand and a few friends asked for one too)
Then in middle school we made stamps with a burning tool, I ended up making one that was a square that would leave an empty mark for the design then made one that qas just the design. Now four years later I finally have my Pyrography set! still only basic pairing knife for actual carving
This was a very helpful video, but tbh I liked it for the unexpected swear
looks amazing good job :)
Haha loved watching this! Keep it up!
Beautiful creation
You should totally upgrade to a nicer pyrography set since you’ve become so familiar with wood burning you’ll love it! I started off with a cheap 19$ wood burning tool and moved up to a Razortip brand one and it’s AMAZING and you’ll find it more comfortable on your hand
Could u please provide a picture or a link? I am looking to buy one for myself but it is really hard because I have no idea which one to buy. The feedbacks are so mixed. Thanks
Do you prefer the solid top burner versus a wire one and if so why? I'm new to this and started straight on the wire tipped machines. But now I'm thinking, would I have been better to go for a solid tip machine....I'm still liking the pictures and results I'm getting. I'm hopeful to make a few extra pennies selling my work. How much do you suggest is reasonable for a set of coasters? Do you varnish to protect them?
Harikasınız... Hemen abone oldum. Yeni başlamak istiyorum. Hangi makineyi önerirsiniz? Çok teşekkür ederim.
My boyfriend just send me this.
This is so cool!
Thanks
THATS THE CUTEST COMMET EVER!!!1
I love watching you work, Hegla. Got a question for all 'Pyromaniacs' (of which I am one): Does anyone burn indoors with no external venting? If so, what do you do to keep your house from smelling like a campfire? Of course, there are those who want just that, but not me. I am thinking about getting a Winix 5500-2. It seems to have good reviews. Thoughts and suggestions?
Well the advice is to use ventilation but I’m lazy 😂 I don’t seem to have brain damage yet so I think it’s alright!!
Also I only burn one small design at a time to stop the smell
Hi, Ive now ordered the pen, thank you for the video. May I ask if you need to varnish the items after you have burned the design/word on to the wood, or is it just left? Many thanks x
Wow this is lovely! Does the smoke alarm the fire detectors? Or do you have any type of fan nearby?
Thank you. Great video
Creativity at its best..kudos from your new subscriber!
Dudeeee thank you so much you are by far the most supportive person
@@HeglaRUclips honestly you deserve it..will be supporting you through out your RUclips journey. Keep it up!
Great video!
Silly question… do I have to worry about setting off the smoke alarm when using a pyrography pen? I was thinking of drawing on wooden coasters.
When the pic is finished do you put oil or any spray on it to protect the wooden surface? Is it necesserry? Thank you
I just bought a wood burning kit have no idea what I'm doing where can I get the patterns to use and ty for this
A very nice lesson.
This is actually sick, have you tried this on a skateboard deck yet?
Thank you! I’ve been trying pyrography and had little success. This has been really helpful 😊
Very sweet, and his artist, I continue 🥰🥰🥰
Great video, thanks!
Wow this is really cool!
I subscribed after the first 20 seconds lmfao I can already tell you’re hilarious
