I think the order of characters makes sense, Tom's usually wanting to get to do things first, always gets the shorter end of the stick because of it. Edd because reference to him mocking Eduardo for 2nd place. Matt's usually very energetic, so him having Dr. Eggman's fast paced part makes sense. And clone tord(confirmed by the creator in the lore of tord expanded), is the overall villain of this whole thing :)
