Some real good points and tips but especially at the end regarding partner needing to cover the back if they see you move in but also even sacrificing the back and both moving in to pressurise the opponents. I thought that'll be suicide but even if they lifted you can still get some sort of downward shot to try to create another pressurised moment to attack and kill. Nice!
Thanks guys. As usual some really good practical stuff. I'm trying hard to also remember to tilt back my wrist for this shot... must try harder! Stepping back from the net really helps and gives me a little more space and time to pounce forward onto the shuttle.
Pleased you liked it. Yes stepping back from the net for the interception is important to give you enough time to see and process the shot. Thanks for the comment 👍
Gonna go back through all your older videos and comment on those too. So idea is just attack, stay close to cover the straight return, and drive low in stance to be able to move quickly if hit elsewhere. I used to always try to move back to center after a drop shot but now I try and stay closer especially if it is a tight drop shot so I can kill something coming a bit too high.
It’s slightly different after soft shot, you can come back towards the centre, you would cover the line more if you have hit a hard fast shot to look for the straight reply. Hope that makes sense
If the opponent manages to get a straight lift return from your first net kill/drive, is it your shot to hit or would it be your partner that would cover that?
It’s a good question. We would generally say the player that is already in the mid/rear court as they are probably still closer to the lift. An instance where this may change is if the player that has hit the kill is a rear court specialist they may use this as a time to rotate as a pair and get into their favoured formation. Generally at club level we would see the player that hit the kill stay forward and the other player go back for the lift. Hope that helps.
You’re not alone, it can be a common mistake. By coming away from the net slightly you will have more time for the interception which is a faster shot. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
Great technical analysis and very game like and relevant for any pair to be able to implement into their gameplay-men’,ladies or mixed doubles. Lots for the rear court player to cover depending on how good that first shot is. Very good video thank you. 🏸
What I love most about your training is it is so specific to game situations with 2 or three shots combined. Thank you.
Really pleased you’re enjoying the content. 👍

Really pleased to hear you found the tips useful. Thanks for the positive feedback

Very useful video again guys. Will definitely introduce into training.
Can I ask a quick question - What rackets do you both use ?
Thanks again.
Great, pleased you liked it, let us know how it goes in training.
Dean used the Astrox 88d pro rackets and David uses the Astrox 100ZZ rackets.
I don't have any proper training except for one day of training, so these type of vids help me a lot
That’s great to hear they help 👍
Going to share this with my club members. Packed with useable content, well done lads.
Great to hear, we hope everyone finds it useful. 👍

Good stuff !!
Glad you enjoyed it
Its always easy to step back to mid 😂😂..my main mistake..😅
You’re right, it’s an easy mistake to make. Keep trying this when hitting hard off from the net instead. Thanks for watching 👍
I always make that mistake of coming too close to the net...
