Concealed Firearm Carry - Appendix Carry for Bigger Bodies (300 LB)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 авг 2024
- Appendix carry is one of the most popular positions to conceal carry a firearm. In this video, Werkz team member Jamison discusses techniques for appendix carry when you have a bigger-shaped body.
➡️ At approximately 300 lbs., Jamison demonstrates the equipment and position he uses that makes appendix carry easy for carriers of all shapes and sizes.
Ease of access and concealment are two of the most key factors to consider when determining where you want to wear your firearm.
Many people prefer the appendix carry as it is easier to hide with clothes and keeps the firearm readily accessible with limited movement required to pull and fire.
➡️ From clothing patterns and sizes to gun sizes and holster types, Jamison has all the details you need if you have a bigger body and are interested in appendix carrying your concealed weapon.

"I don't traditionally wear undershirts, that's more for your safety right now." Lol.
I wear a shirt in the pool😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍
Some of us both understand and appreciate that consideration.
I was thinking 🤔 it but didn’t want to 🗣 it!
Ahh i get it LOL
That was funny! :) Love it.
Tactical muffin toppers unite! Love this presentation, very excellent key points and demonstrations!
Yeah buddy!
I’m in
🙌😂
Im 6’2” tall and weigh 250 lbs and I’ve been looking for a holster video that doesn’t require the body of an Olympic athlete. In fact I’ve watched holster videos where the reviewer actually says something to the effect, “Of course, this won’t work if you’re fat and out of shape”. Great content. Thanks.
I’m in the same boat as you. 6’ 2”, 250#, 36-38 inch waist. Dad bod+ yet not enough to really cover the butt of the gun that wants to bulge out because I don’t have enough busted biscuit hanging out to cover. Having a hard time coming up with an AWIB/spare mag holster for my XD-9. No appendix carry for me I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
I know this is an older comment, but I’m 6’0” maybe 6’1” and probably 280-290. I’ve carried appendix in sidecar holsters for a while and used tier 1 holster, holster etc. what he said about having a sturdy belt is the truth. The belt and holster help immensely concealing. The brand of belt doesn’t matter as long as it is a good sturdy belt. I can conceal a Glock 19, or a staccato P with a giant magwell and 20 round mag. Wedges like the bump they put on their holsters work well, whether you use a dr scholls insert, a tier 1 wedge or yoga mat, it pulls in the grip and helps it conceal to your body.
Bros, lemme tell you, 6’5 350 here (and going down due to diet and exercise), I, as a fat f*** currently, absolutely love my M6 and Radius Mag Holders for my 43x/48. Do not hesitate, get this product! Can’t wait to get one for my G19(X) for the winter time!
I'm the same size. It's not even that were fat, we're just built big and solid lmao
@@scottberghorn right?! Not enough muffin top to cover and too much to keep it from puffing out.
As a fluffy guy my self I really appreciate y'all teaching us tips and tricks for a huge problem that alot of people deal with 👍🏼
Thank you. Us larger guys get overlooked when it comes to this subject
Thank you for covering the driving portion of appendix carry. That’s the part some other RUclipsrs leave out. I am big guy and I have been thinking about moving from my traditional 3 o’clock position to appendix, and you sir, have given me a lot to think about.
Thanks for the video Werkz! Very informative! Now I gotta try appendix carry with my Kore Belt
I used to wear Appendix back in the 250 lb days.....now at 350, hell no. I'm all gut.
I try this and I feel like my guns gonna fall out and it folds over when I sit facing inward.
Glad to see a big guy doing it though! Most big guys carry appendix show a barely big dude carrying and its a joke. This was a legit big guy showing what works for him. Nice video!
Literally just lose weight
@@Ragr556 Literally just lose weight?
Why watch a video on a big guy carry option and have an issue with the guys that watch it's size?!
Get a life buddy!
Yes, until recently I was always told heavy set folks couldn't pull off appendix carry. I'm glad I discovered otherwise. It's true, I don't think I could get away with it if I had it centered on my belly button, but carrying it off center like you demonstrated has been successful for me. Thank you,
Definitely one of better videos I've seen with plenty of information and demonstration thank you Sir!!!
This was an awesome tutorial video for us larger guys! Thank you! All of your recommendations are very helpful.
I have say you did a AWESOME job. As big guy myself at 6’ over 280 this the best video I seen in search for Big Guy Carry. You included bending down, vehicle carry and added clothing options. You knocked it out park. Thank you 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks so much!
I appreciate you making this video ! You’re awesome ! Losing weight and then I lost my gut and then life changed and altered my lifestyle and now I have a little guy.
Glad you brought up the comment about which shirts to wear and not wear. I made the decision to carry appendix after seeing a man in the post office with a Sig Sauer t-shirt printing from his 4 o’clock position. Great video!
Glad you liked it Christian!
Excellent explanation, one of the most comprehensive to date.
💪🏼🇺🇸
Great way to show this carry in real-world scenario. I've been looking for a video like this. Not many people think of how to carry with a belly. When a lot of people have them.... LOL
Good video . As a fellow big guy I found soft loops on my holsters make it so comfortable to appendix . I recommend to anyone using soft loops i. It allows the gun to have a bit of movement when you sit down and make it way more confortable
That was really helpful! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to make this video!
Thanks for the video. Considering appendix Carey and I’m a ‘husky’ guy. 6’4” and about 315. Similar build.
I’m inspired! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! I am almost the exact same size as you, and concealed carry has been tough. I will try out these techniques!
Hey Jamison, awesome video man thank you love that Glock 45 mines rocking a RMR and will be upgrading my lights soon after watching the light comparison video. Thank you!
As a fat man myself who has always carried OWB, and just recently switched to IWB, this was a really helpful video. Thank you for your insight!
Very good video.... we spoke over the phone and, Thanks to you, I got my first Werkz M6 IWB and enjoying it.
I'm also a big guy....
Thanks
Be Well
this was so helpful . I've always been so scared about trying appendix carry but lately 9 o clock ( yes I'm a lefty ) I've been super uncomfortable I've felt I was printing a lot and visibly pulling on my shirt. I'll give this a shot thanks !
SOLD!!! Ordering one for my Hellcat with the TLR-7 now. One of the best and most informative videos I’ve seen. Thx guys.
Thanks much for your feedback! Hopefully you can benefit from Jamison's carry experience!
Great info. Thanks for the video!
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to discuss all that. I have been wanting to try appendix but nervous since I'm a bigger guy. I typically pocket carry a smaller gun.
Yeah Jamison really does a nice job with this video. Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully this gives you some ideas to try.
Awesome presentation, thank you.
I have a umbilical hernia and can not tighten my belt too much, so wear a tucked in cotton T-shirt under suspenders to help for comfort and irritation the suspenders give, then a "urban-cammo" shirt, over all of that.
I had a seamstress change all my favorite shirts buttons with snap fastener buttons with the buttons still displaying on top as normally to help expedite my draw.
Outssstanding!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 One of the best handgun concealment presentations I've seen. Very well explained and conveyed.
Another thing I agree with, you don't have to carry a micro or subcompact handgun for "maximum comfort." I personally prefer to carry a handgun with a minimum 4" barrel length, or higher, but never a "cute" little gun. I seek maximum effectiveness and functionality on a handgun, not maximum comfort.
I have a couple of pistols, but have never really entertained the idea of concealed carry. I just figured that it would be very uncomfortable and irritating since I am a fat guy. Thank you for this video. I think I investigate sheaths and belt and try it out at home for a while. If it works out for me, I will check into a concealed carry license. I wish more people made videos to help big people, especially because there are so many of us out there. Thanks again brother! Much appreciated!👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent job on this video!!! When I get some extra money I will look into buying a holster from you guys for my size p320
Consistently making very good informational videos, extremely useful
Good video! The information was very helpful. I am not a larger person but had some uncomfortable issues with appendix and this video helped confirm that they are normal and tips to deal with it. Im not sure if you already have them but, more tips on how to deal with sitting, bending over, getting in and out of the car and just other normal everyday movements would be awesome.
Great video. Very educational. Much appreciated.
thank you this. This video was awesome.
Thanks Bud - that was just what I was looking for. Perfect amount of information.
So happy it was useful for you!
Ty. Great simple explanation
Just got your m6 and radius mag carrier for the xmacro and fox trot 2 from you guys it is insanely well made. Ive always beena. Tier 1 guy but they didn’t offer a fox trot option and i got my holster from you guys in 5 days total I believe. I’ll definitely be buying more from you in the future. I will say I love that i can use the m6 as appendix or on strong side hip duty style and its 100% comfortable either way and with a loose shirt i can rock +3 base pads with ease.
Just ordered a holster from you guys. Just from watching this video. Not a lot of us "bigger guys" running appendix. Nice video
Thanks for trusting us with your business and thank you for the positive comments. I think you'll see more of Jamison in our videos in the future.
Awesome video, thank you!
Great video sir. Thanks from the bigger gentlemen of the internet. Good tips.
Great video thanks
Very helpful! And thank you
Thanks for the great video!
I would also like to add stretchy jeans/ pants will also help in this case. I am about 5’8” and 240 lbs. I have been carrying appendix for about two years now. I do not have a werkz holster. I currently use a Davis Tactical. With a claw and a foam wedge I made out of a memory foam shoe insert. And it works wonderfully. Also I carry with a next belt it allows me to loosen a click or two while sitting and tighten after you stand up. It’s extremely comfortable I also attached a soft belt loop to the boater to prevent accidental un clipping when sitting.
Good stuff. Thanks much.
Thanks for the Video WERKZ ! going to be ordering my holster for my Glock19 .!
You’re about my size, this was incredibly helpful! I have slightly less belly (a lot of weight is muscle below my CHONK!) but we’re pretty similar in build (height too). Thank a lot for your video.
I love my werkz holster for my 48 mos. It's perfect and plan on getting the kabar tdi attachment next!
Thanks for the positive feedback Tim!
I'm a big guy and I only use Werkz holsters. They are incredible, and I usually carry either my glock 17 with full size light and optic or a glock 19x with light and optic.
What holster do you use for the 19x if I may ask.
I am 245 & started walking recently to loose weight & my goal is to loose 55 pounds or more. I chose the Kore belt because right now I'm a 40" waist but it's great to know I can simply cut the belt as I loose weight. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Thanks. I'm a 300 pounder also, at 6' even. This gives me some hope.
I love your holsters. So comfy and great bang for the buck.
Thanks Russ for your positive feedback!
Great info, thank you.
I've also found that I can drop most iwb holsters down into my right front pocket and hang the belt clip over the outside edge of the pocket opening. It has to be a tight belt clip, and you need to adjust the holster retention to allow a little easier release, but it's very comfy for standing and sitting, and keeps the pistol at 2 o'clock. It works for me with an untucked shirt or jacket.
Thanks for sharing your suggestion!
You need an ulticlip
This is great. I am surprises the part about a larger weapon being preferred. I've been debating what to purchase strictly for carry, as opposed to using something I currently own. I'm 6'2, 300 with a 44" waistline.
I bought that holster when the tlr sub light first came out for the p365XL and y’all’s holster was the only one at the time I could find that made a holster for that combo. I’ve been carry at the 4 o clock position since I got it because I felt like my gut was too big to appendix carry but I watched this video 2 days ago and tried aiwb carry and holy shit! This video changed everything!
I'm so happy that these tips were useful for you! And thank you for your business!
I'm 6' 5" 320lbs. It's nice to see a big dude showing other big dudes how to safely carry concealed.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome video thank you sir
My pleasure
Good information
Awesome video!
Thank you
Great video!
Thanks from a big guy to a big guy! New to guns. Very informative!
Happy to help!
Sweet set up mines same but ed brown fueled series 9mm mp m2.0 got same light but looking try make out kydex but all videos don't show you metal mounting plates so nice video god bless
Great vid!
Good video. I will say that carrying is one of the reason I lost weight. I was envious of people carrying appendix. Let me tell you it’s worth working out and making that commitment. Yes these are good tips, however the best tip is commit to yourself and lose the gut
Excellent comments!
I feel you on the full sized gun thing. I'm 6'6" and 300 pounds, and the only thing I have that I can AIWB comfortably is a frigging Glock 40. It actually prints less than the 48.
Definitely the funniest line I can hear today, "for my safety" ..)
Thanks for the advice on carrying a bigger gun for larger guys. I carry a shield and I found it flares out a lot.
Great Video Bro
Thank you, thank you, and thank you for showing that big people can also behave that way, the only thing is that when you put on your seat belt you should take off your shirt so as not to catch it, but thank you, and continue making spectacular videos. Greetings from Puerto Rico!
Awesome information
Glad you think so!
Nice video I’m having trouble for that because my job is driving and I’m trying different ways and the only way is owb I can’t ibw
amazing video
Good to see.
I appreciate the tip of not wearing a "Glock" "guns are cool" shirt, I used to think it was so cool to put a "protected by Smith & Wesson" sticker on my car. Then someone told me that's mostly an advertisement to break into your car, I think the same goes with concealed carry and gun shirts, maybe not an advertisement to rob you but definitely makes you a target for anyone in a mass shooting/ store robbery situation.
And don’t forget also God forbid you get in a self defense shooting a anti gun DA especially a Dem DA they can use that against you in court
@@darrylmuse9948it must be sad to live your life like that.. Identity politics have truly divided America..
For this very reason, I won't wear any 2A-related clothes. I have a few basic black Grunt Style shirts and have contemplated mothballing those as well. The last thing I want is for someone to look at me and find a clue that I could carrying. Sucks cause there are a lot of cool/funny shirts out there these days.
Excellent content for the big fellas!
Thank you for representing the big guys great video
Thanks for watching hope it helped!
Very good content and presentation.
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Thanks big guy
My beer belly appreciates this video. Good job 👍🏼
My pleasure!
My preferred carry position is shower. Gun under the left, mads under the left. It's less concealed, especially in summer, but draw speed is unmatched and if I'm in the woods I have extra mags.
im not in the 300 club but close, and the 2 o 'clock carry is a very good friend
Glad to hear what is working for you!
I use to weigh 250 6’ tall and I would still appendix carry. I’m down to 207 now and man I gotta say with a great holster (tenicor) and nexbelt , conceal carrying appendix is crazy comfortable. I forget my 19x is even there . Compared to before it was def noticeable.
Nice video! I like KORE belts.
Nice job. I am trying to make the change to aiwb.
Good info for us larger guys. Debating to carry full -size or sub-compact as my daily.
As you can see, Jamison went with the full size route. I believe most people shoot their larger pistols better, whether due to training more often with it, or due to the increased control, so I suggest you use what you train most with. That's my two cents.
I have a werkz holster for my P365xl build with a TLR7sub, and it’s cool and comfortable when carried on the hip as I too am a fat man with a big ol gut. But after watching this I was like I have nothing to loose let’s try it. And I’m still playing with it but I think I may just start appendix carry. I do think I need to get a holster for a larger gun though I am thinking I may try my Glock 45, but I also have a few P320’s I would prefer to carry.
I ❤️ WERKZ!
Fluffy guy myself here and definitely appreciate the info
Appendix is the only way I like to carry. And I quit doing it a year ago as my muffin got more top. I'd love a holster to make it manageable again
The full sized move was key for myself
We appreciate the undershirt. 😉
I’m a similar build at 6’2” and 310, but a bit more gut because I was 450 about a year ago. I started carrying appendix in the last few months and I actually find it really easy to conceal, it’s for sure easier to access. Sitting down I’ve found I need to loosen my belt a bit to give myself some room, otherwise I can drive all day and still be fairly comfortable. I carry either a full size M&P or a Shield, and yeah the full size is actually more comfortable. A holster with more length would definitely make carrying the Shield easier. With either one a wedge and a claw are must haves for me.
Thanks for sharing your experience, and what works for you!
Would love to try one of your holsters but they're not made in any of my preferred carry guns.
I prefer appendix carry but it's pretty uncomfortable sitting and driving. Appreciate the tips and advice
Great Video. bought me a holster from u guys
Thanks for trusting us with your business!
I typed in "Appendix holsters for fat guys" and these was the 1st video to come up and it did not disappoint.
Glad to hear it!
I'm 6:3 280. I wear mine in same position. Glock 17 TLR-1 LIGHT. I am using a We the people belt. I'm planning to change to a Tier One Concealment Holster Aegis
Got the same gun and same holster. I added the Striker Control Device to all my Glocks. Really makes me feel a lot safer reholstering appendix.
