    Similar to some of your other videos and techniques, I was able to follow this one pretty much verbatim as well (I even purchased the same fog machine - hey, if it ain't broke...) and achieve similar results. I then kicked it up and used a 4 light setup (pretty much the same setup you recommend for your composite cutouts) and produced even more dramatic results by adding gels to my edge lights. Your videos are helping me level up my game very quickly and put offerings together that the athletes and families I'm starting to work with will absolutely love. I'm still a little nervous about using the fog machine in an actual gym with smoke detectors so have been sticking to my studio for that so far.
    It's pretty exciting to be able to follow your content and have it just freggin' work. I can't wait to try out the dramatic volleyball team photos (that's actually what first led me to your content) and the plate image compositing (mine will be a volleyball player diving for a pancake but same concept).

    Awesome video. I love these and seeing your different ideas. I play with these a lot and your breakdowns are still helpful. I like to set up lots of lights to light up the fog and get a couple rim lights and main light but I still find my favorite shots have lots of light cut away, I have to work on that in my garage with limited space to keep light from bouncing around. Anyway, your comments really help solidify/clarify the ideas that work best for me. Appreciate your effort putting these out!

    Love your videos and have learned a lot from watching your set ups. Have you ever had an issue using these fog machines and tripping smoke alarms? Since the machine is water based I am assuming there would not be an issue but my school is super paranoid about this happening. Any feedback you can give me would be helpful. Thanks!

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  Месяц назад

      I have no but I know others that have. It really depends on what type of smoke alarm the facility has. Some are based on heat and some are based on blockage. The ones based on heat shouldn’t be an issue but the others could be worked around depending on if they’d let you shut them off or not temporarily. I’d talk to them first to see.
