My favorite is when the Elven archers snap to attention when Legolas appears, before the battle of Helm’s Deep. I always find it incredibly moving, and we kind of forget what a big shot he is in the Elven world. That moment is a great reminder.
wraith runner I don’t watch tons of movies, because most of them are just manipulative. As a result, I tend to watch more documentaries. Of the movies I do watch, there’s probably something in one out of every four or five that I find genuinely moving.
I like how if there is any large inconvenience, Aragorn just yells for Legolas and the situation is considered taken care of. I need a Legolas in my life
The arrival of the Rohirrim at Pelennor Fields is without a doubt my top favorite scene in the trilogy. (Hell, the entire battle sequence was amazing!) The battle at Amon Hen (where Boromir died saving the Hobbits), Mount Doom (Sam's "I cannot carry it for you but I can carry you!"), the Bridge of Khazad-Dum ("You shall not pass!") and Bilbo's birthday speech are among my other top favorite scenes.
In the book, when Eomer believes both his uncle and sister dead on the field, he gathers up his remaining Riders and they chant/scream 'Death' as they rampage the enemy lines. It's also VERY moving soon after when Eomer learns that Eowyn yet lives and gets to the Houses Of Healing with Aragorn to tend to both she and Merry. Great stuff! Cheers! I liked all of your scenes as well.
Don’t forget the white rider when Gandalf pushes back the nazgul, when Gandalf cleanses Theoden king of saruman, when Arwen draws the nazgul to the river bruinen, when the eagles arrive and then the last March of the ents. To be fair these movies shall never be surpassed until the end of days. How this occurred because for once they didn’t stray too far from the literary work.
Interesting point to note, as much of a badass, empowering woman as she is and as much of an amazing feminist moment as this is, when you read the books, it's not so much. The prophesy was that no man could kill him, meaning no one from the race of men. the reason that he died was to do with merry stabbing him, which wasn't touched on enough in the films. Merry had a barrow dagger which was an elven blade imbued with magic. when Merry stabbed him, it hurt him deeply but it devered the nazguls connection to Sauron, essentially breaking the semi imortality that he had. From the moment that Merry stabbed him, he was no longer able to regenerate his form (for example, the way that they all did after Aragorn beat them on weathertop) so when she stabbed him, he was mortal and died. An interesting argument has been made in regards to the fact that Merry stabbing him was what killed him, which would also mean that he wasn't beaten by the race of men. I love the route they went for in the film though. creating this hugely empowering, natural feeling female moment. and they did it 20 years before it was normal to do. they did it 100x better than the Avengers films and made it such a powerful moment, regardless of how the books originally wrote it
For me ..the first look at the great halls of moria was breathtaking. The scene had so much history in that 4-5seconds. That scene had something strange and mystic about it.
I personally enjoyed the battle of Helms Deep more than the final battle in Return of the King. Gandalf showing up alone, Rohan appearing behind him, the streak of bright sun, the music----GOOSEBUMPSSSSS!
Watching this to sooth my troubled soul after watching rings of power. We should be eternally grateful to Peter jackson for trusting in tolkiens story and focusing on his strength, the filmmaking
Lots of great scenes, but one of my favorites is Aragon at the black gates, when he’s momentarily transfixed by Sauron, then turns around and says, for Frodo. That look on Aragorn’s face, can’t even put into words. Gives me chills every time.
Was definitely an all or nothing moment. That's what made it so significant and charging in first, alone, leading his army like a truly fearless warrior. Putting his King status aside.
Some scenes that could have been easily included. Balrog vs Gandalf, Rohan death charge in Penelors Fields, Gandalf calling Shadowfax for the first time, Rohan charge out of Helms deep, Boromir's final stand and interaction with Aragorn, destruction of Sauron and the One ring, Faramirs last charge with Pippin singing, Lighting of the beacons in Minas Tirith
One of my favourite scenes (though very simple) is when Gandalf's horse Shadowfax appears when he whistles. Simple, but so beautiful. I loved the liberty taken by Peter Jackson in having Shadowfax as a white horse. With a name like Shadowfax, you would think that was a black horse.
I've just always been slightly confused at the fact that Gandalf so casually rides the lord of all horses into battle. Like, he leads a charge into a pike wall of orcs at least 3 separate times. Is Shadowfax aligned with the fellowship? Or is his loyalty specifically to Gandalf? It was said in the books he wasn't Gandalf's horse, but rather a friend who came in times of need
Gandalf driving back the Nine on the fields on Gondor before they can kill Faramir. The shaft of white light flashed from his staff into the sky, is depicted actually as the book describes. Easily my favorite scene.
Now that I know more about the expanded lore of middle earth. I can appreciate it much more how amazing it is that Aragon was about to fight off 5 ring wraiths by himself.
Unfortunately, in the last section, the release of the dead is omitted. This is what is the most important thing about that scene, when Aragorn states their oath as fulfilled... Another possible scene would be the march of the Ents to Isengard...
Not sure if other people think this too but it is wild the difference the music in this trilogy makes. I'd argue that it is the music that makes most of this trilogy as the scenes have so much more impact with the insane score by Howard Shore. An amazing composer.
That’s why my favorite movies are Lord of the Rings until now still amazing. I love the scene when the soul of the dead comes out to help them ❤️💕❤️🌺🌹🌷
There is one scene where Saruman has the wargs sent after Rohan as they flee to Helm's Deep in Twin Towers. Legolas is shooting down wargs and their riders with his bow and arrow as Theoden and his men ride up behind him. He looks over his shoulder, sees Gimli on their horse, grabs hold of the reins and swings himself around the chest of the horse and into the saddle. An amazing piece of CGI. I get chills no matter how many times I watch it.
I love these movies but that is the most hollywood kind of scene and least faithful kind of scene to the books. Just silly action for general moviegoers and kids. Luckily thats about as silly as it ever gets... unlike The Hobbit which is ruined by that sort of thing, among many other problems.
0:24, the Nazgul hold they sword with both hands, just like Aragon usually did, perhaps it's the way of the king blood. Nazgul also was the 9 Kings of men once before.
4:13 This scene is so old and up to this day there was nothing better. It will be perfect for another 50 years. We have War from End game but it is compleatly different thing
Personally, when the Balrog jumps out of the depths of the mine or moria and roars, was pretty cool. The roar sounded more like a large furnace which was apropos.
Howard Shores score is the magic that makes all of these scenes so good. Everytime I watch I'm shocked at how the music truly brings all the incredible elements of this film together. Quite possibly the best move score ever composed.
This shit was everything as a 13 year old at the time. Honestly there has not been a series to date that I have been into more than lotr. Just a badass movie.
If I had to pick the top 5 scenes from the trilogy, they'd be: 5. the battle sequence in the prologue of the extended edition. 4. Lighting of the signal fires. It's a short sequence, but the music and cinematography are epic. 3. The Last March of the Ents and their attack on Isengard. 2. The siege of Minas Tirith, when the trebuchets started swinging and then the Nazghul came flying in. 1. The charge of the Rohirim on Pellanor Field. This has to be the most epic scene in the entire franchise. Honorable mentions: The eagles are coming! Who didn't get a chill down their spine when that happened? The worg attack on the way to Helm's Deep, specifically that acrobatic scene of Legolas' as he swings onto that horse. The ending of the Battle of Helm's Deep, with Theodan riding out with Aragorn, and Gimli blowing that big horn. Orc attack on Osgiliath Retreat from Osgiliath (when Gandalf rode out and saved them from the Nazghul).
Awesome video! This is a very good list that I really enjoyed watching! I agree with it, there's only one scene which I really like in the movies that wasn't on this video and it's that scene in The Fellowship of the Ring when the Fellowship fights Saruman's uruk-hai. I think that scene is very well done! But this is a great list and it just shows the quality that The Lord Of The Rings' films have! Keep going with the amazing videos!
Glaringly obvious 😂😂 the hobbit was far longer than it needed to be, the Kili and Tauriel love story was pointless and it relied far too much on CGI which made it seem lazy. Just my opinion I’m not arguing with you 😂
The amazing amount of detail they put into the props and characters it literally looked and fell like you were watching a real story unfold. The costumes didn't look made up, or over manufactured like they do today, the CGI wasn't over saturated. This trilogy was just pure perfection.
I noticed all of these scenes are basically battle scenes, and they are outstanding. But there are some extraordinary "philosophical" scenes that should have been included. For example: Gandalf's homily, for lack of a better word, in the Mines of Moria. GANDOLF: "Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be to eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.... FRODO: "I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened." GANDOLF: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in the world, Frodo, besides the will of evil...." Our when Sam follows Frodo, as Frodo tries to sneak away and cross the River Anduin. And when Gandalf speaks to Pippin about what comes after death. That was in the middle of the Battle of Pellinor Fields. I find these movies incredibly spiritual.
@@pinkfloydhomer I just saw your comment. Sometimes I go back and read things that people had in response to my comment. I can see your comment as being humorous if that is where you are coming from. But I have a distinct feeling that is not your sentiment. People who correct spelling and English on the internet (or in real life for that matter) are in my opinion petty. They think too much of their own intellect, which in many cases proves they are neither intelligent nor sensitive to others. This makes them even less intelligent, as it is evidence of their lack of emotional intelligence. Gandolf is of course a misspelling of a character in Lord of the Rings. If you are unable to figure that out, you probably need some sort of remedial teaching. Your apparent need to be fastidious is asinine.
@@eowyn333womanwarrior7 you should take yourself less seriously and learn to take some humour. There is something funny about a person being so into a universe and a character that they post quotes from it, but misspell this very important and legendary character's name. My purpose was not to make you feel bad, everything is not about you. I hope you have a great day.
@@pinkfloydhomer Should I take myself less seriously? I will say you also take yourself too seriously. Is your silly observation that I misspelled a name important? Actually, no. But apparently, you feel you are so clever you must let the whole world know. You had to tell them that your ability to make a glib remark is much more critical than an observation that another person thought they could share without editing. If I wanted an editor, I would hire one. If your finesse with empty comments is so important (and they must be important), your superficial remark indeed usurped what I had to say. Perhaps it is because you take yourself so seriously; the world has to know you can spell Gandalf correctly - not this idiot who thinks anything serious does not belong here; and besides, she doesn't know how to spell Gandalf. She should be just as superficial as myself. The person that thought there were more critical moments in the film, observing that violence is overrated, should instead make a more inferior remark like mine. I believe that you are supercilious with your "casual" putdown because putdown is what it was. Okay. HaHaHa...your funny and I'm not.
My favorite scene is when the ents first attack saruman's tower. the music flows perfectly and is a great transition from after gandalf charges with eomer at the uruk hai
These movies are so... special.. even without special effects such as in Harry Potter (no offense tho, I’m a huge Potterhead) they managed to create something magical. And I’m not even talking about my huge crush on legolas- I MEAN-
AMAZING. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Legolas is so cool he just surfs down the stairs on a shield *chef kiss*. And how Legolas fights the oliphaunt... *another chef kiss*.
In a narrative sense, Tolkien placed the character Saruman in a very strong position. The Gap of Rohan, the Tower of Orthanc. Inside the tower was one of the seeing stones. With Sarumans powers and aid of the Dunlendings (at first), he was in a position to forge many different paths in the Lord of the Rings.
Check out the amazing LOTR MERCHANDISE in the Description
The music in these movies is brilliant. So many scenes are elevated because of it

Top cool scenes in TLOTR: the entire trilogy

Lots of great scenes, but one of my favorites is Aragon at the black gates, when he’s momentarily transfixed by Sauron, then turns around and says, for Frodo. That look on Aragorn’s face, can’t even put into words. Gives me chills every time.

Orc attack on Osgiliath
Retreat from Osgiliath (when Gandalf rode out and saved them from the Nazghul).
Thank you so much and that is an amazing scene
That scene is so awesome! Gandalf is The Man from Snowy River!
Better than The Hobbit!
Yeah, true. The Hobbit is so confusing. I don't know if it was before or after they wiped out Sauron.
Mick Carson i think it’s 50 some years before they wiped out Sauron.

Glaringly obvious 😂😂 the hobbit was far longer than it needed to be, the Kili and Tauriel love story was pointless and it relied far too much on CGI which made it seem lazy. Just my opinion I’m not arguing with you 😂
The hobbit is Pretty boring to watch because its Go so slow in the story
LEGOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!! YOU ARE BETTER THAN ANY OF US!!!!!!!!
Amazon's puddle of dog piss will never hold a candle to these films
Peaches&cream, salt&pepper, squash&pumpkin, cilatro&parsley, onion&celery, beet juice&orange juice, ice & cream.....magnificent
We have salt and pepper here.
'That still only counts as one!' Love it!!
My favorite line in the entire trilogy....
"I am no man." -Eowyn
It can be either taken humorously or defiantly.
Just a Howard Shore appreciation comment!
The amazing amount of detail they put into the props and characters it literally looked and fell like you were watching a real story unfold. The costumes didn't look made up, or over manufactured like they do today, the CGI wasn't over saturated. This trilogy was just pure perfection.
The scene where the Ents march towards Isengard is by far the most ''fuck yeah'' moment in the trilogy for me. Treebeard soloed Isengard on a whim.
I would add the Lighting of the Beacons and the Bridge of Khazad Dum.
The musical score is the narrator in these films. It’s truly epic.
"Well, it still only counts as one!" -- That line gets me every time!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I still get tears in my eyes when I see the ride of the rohirrim.
aww and the eagles appears scene is also magnificent
I love all these scenes too. The scene were Gandalf kills balrog is amazing too
Aragon was such a badass, taking on and defeating five Ringwraiths at once.
Whoa, it sounded like he said f*ck you guys” at the end there. But apparently it was “Thank you”, well more like “Fank you” lmao
I wish none of this had happened."
GANDOLF: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in the world, Frodo, besides the will of evil...."
Our when Sam follows Frodo, as Frodo tries to sneak away and cross the River Anduin.
And when Gandalf speaks to Pippin about what comes after death. That was in the middle of the Battle of Pellinor Fields.
I find these movies incredibly spiritual.
Who is Gandolf
@@eowyn333womanwarrior7 I hope you are well, go out into the sunshine and be with other people
My favorite scene is when the ents first attack saruman's tower. the music flows perfectly and is a great transition from after gandalf charges with eomer at the uruk hai
“That’s still count as one”
Ahahah le nain est degz 😂
Getting this video suggested after watching the Rings of Power trailer. Boy does this set a high bar.
"No man can kill me" gets crippled from a tiny stab in the leg by a hobbit... kinda sus
all time legend
These movies are so... special.. even without special effects such as in Harry Potter (no offense tho, I’m a huge Potterhead) they managed to create something magical.
And I’m not even talking about my huge crush on legolas- I MEAN-
Tell me about it! Also Legolas is just so amazing and so cool
very cool thanks
AMAZING. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Legolas is so cool he just surfs down the stairs on a shield *chef kiss*. And how Legolas fights the oliphaunt... *another chef kiss*.

"Legolas"
Challenge accepted.
That still only counts as 1...😂😂😋
She could kill witch king with her soup without a problem 😂
ahahahah
In a narrative sense, Tolkien placed the character Saruman in a very strong position. The Gap of Rohan, the Tower of Orthanc. Inside the tower was one of the seeing stones. With Sarumans powers and aid of the Dunlendings (at first), he was in a position to forge many different paths in the Lord of the Rings.
