Incense village and they are soooo sweet there!! I need to dig out how to make Bun Bo Hue before I go home to Canada. So far I failed😭 It is very complex in flavor! Great vlog!

Vietnamese are just sweet, friendly, they make you feel at home. I made a friend in Hanoi. This girl treated me like a king, she took me to many amazing places in Hanoi and we became instant friends and still keep in touch. After my trip that same year in the summer I returned to Vietnam for the second time and ratified why I love Vietnam. I want to share something personal you have a twin sister in China I had a friend in Chengdu China her name is Becky when I saw your first video I almost fainted you are identical to Becky not only physically but also in gestures! I really enjoyed eating Vietnamese food when I was there. I always added chili oil in my Bun Bo Hue. I am Thai and Thai people eat spicy foods. It is in our DNA :) Anyway, I think I can eat Vietnamese food every day.
I love the Bun Bo Hue. Had it once in Hue & a few more in HCM & Can Tho. The lemongrass infused soup is aromatic, making the dish truly satisfying. Anyone visiting Vietnam need to try it !

This is one of my favorite dishes from Vietnam, besides broken rice. Once I went to Copenhagen and my friend's aunt cooked Bun Bo Hue for us because she knew that I like it. Then she asked me which one is better: my mom's recipe or hers. I told her that was a simple question and the answer was my mom's. She said she felt sad and disappointed but I saved the game with an explanation. As for my mom's bun bo hue, I ate with heart and as for hers, I ate with tongue. So that means she was also really good but I did not betray my mom :D. Hold on! I thought people said that Bun Bo Hue from Hue is very different from that in Saigon. To me, the two versions look very similar. Hope that you can take a tour around the street food with all the poor vendors along the streets. That has been making Vietnam the way it is now. But plz wait until the whole craziness is gone :D.
I think Bun Bo Hue from Hue has some differences from that in Saigon as the size of Bun in Hue is often smaller, the fresh vegetables which with eat Bun Bo Hue is a different type, etc. Because I was born Hue, I familiar taste it here. For me, Bun Bo Hue from Hue is the best and unique. Fun fact, the price of Bun Bo Hue from Hue cheaper Saigon :D
Never seen a river that big in Vietnamese although my old Vietnamese apartment in Saigon has a river view oh those days I miss back when I was 2 years old [Gosh Dang!!!!]
I haven't tried it before but based on the soup ingredients......lemongrass, sweet , sour, spicy.... Sounds like a bit like Tom Yam favour vibes.... . ( I could be wrong ) ..Will keep that in mind when I visit Vietnam. Good for you to come out to dine-in ...We cant do that yet... Just have to ride out this wave...Stay safe.

I live in the states for few decades. And I can tell the taste of Vietnamese food, domestic vs. Abroad, is quite different. Many even say it tastes yurky from the other side. That is the truth that I know of. Personally, with me, there is no such bad food. I hope somedays I will have a chance to taste all the food you recommended.... only hope :-)
For sure and totally agree, the food in America tends to be sweeter to fit the American's taste, asian food in asian countries are very different since they use more local spices

My friend and I once tried to make this dish in Australia. She has a pressure cooker which assisted in simmering the pork hock, but we didn't know the proper timing. The hock ended up being oversimmered to the point it was falling out to gelatin 😅 Still it was tasty for my friend who have not come back to Vietnam for quite a long time

Uk tender cũng là mềm dễ nhai nha bạn, thường tender dùng cho thịt gà, bò, cừu vì nó mềm dễ nhai nhưng cũng có độ chắc trong đó. Còn soft mình dùng là nó thực sự mềm, mình nên nói thêm là "It's melting in my mouth" thì nghe nó thực sự mềm hơn hihi. Cảm ơn bạn đã hỏi và ủng hộ kênh nhé :)
Nghe cô chủ nhỏ nói tiếng Anh một hồi (lâu) thì rồi mình cũng sẽ hiểu thôi mà . Cô Vân là người rất thiện cảm và quyến rũ dị thường . ;-))))))))) Còn về món "bún bò huế" thì có lẽ nhiều người ngoại quốc sẽ sợ phần tiết canh (sau này món súp VN nào họ cũng bỏ tiết canh vào) . Và ngoại quốc (âu châu) nhiều người kiêng thịt heo . Thức ăn cay quá nhiều người cũng không dám thử qua (hơi hơi cay thôi thì thích lắm). ;-))

Bun Bo Hue is my favorite Vietnamese soup. If you can find it in the US it is pretty bland. I found some legit version though from a Danang restaurant. Some of the best food I have ever had.

Actually it's not as sour and spicy as tom yum though. It's more of like sweet, savory and tiny bit chillies in there. It's a hearty soup :))

My friend and I once tried to make this dish in Australia. She has a pressure cooker which assisted in simmering the pork hock, but we didn't know the proper timing. The hock ended up being oversimmered to the point it was falling out to gelatin 😅 Still it was tasty for my friend who have not come back to Vietnam for quite a long time

Miss Vân muốn dùng chữ chính xác hơn giữa "Soft" và "Tender" khi cô ta đang thưởng thức món thịt bò trong tô Bún Bò Huế (theo quan điểm của tôi).
"Tender" = theo nghĩa thì thịt mềm & dễ nhai . Còn "Soft" thì có nghĩa mang tính chất mềm hơn, dịu dàng & dễ nhai hơn ... ;-))))))))))
(Chỉ là quan điểm và cách dùng chữ để diễn tả các món ăn sao cho chính xác hơn, v.v...) ;-))))) . Góp lời bàn cho vui nhà ...
Uk tender cũng là mềm dễ nhai nha bạn, thường tender dùng cho thịt gà, bò, cừu vì nó mềm dễ nhai nhưng cũng có độ chắc trong đó. Còn soft mình dùng là nó thực sự mềm, mình nên nói thêm là "It's melting in my mouth" thì nghe nó thực sự mềm hơn hihi. Cảm ơn bạn đã hỏi và ủng hộ kênh nhé :)

Nghe cô chủ nhỏ nói tiếng Anh một hồi (lâu) thì rồi mình cũng sẽ hiểu thôi mà . Cô Vân là người rất thiện cảm và quyến rũ dị thường . ;-)))))))))
Còn về món "bún bò huế" thì có lẽ nhiều người ngoại quốc sẽ sợ phần tiết canh (sau này món súp VN nào họ cũng bỏ tiết canh vào) . Và ngoại quốc (âu châu) nhiều người kiêng thịt heo . Thức ăn cay quá nhiều người cũng không dám thử qua (hơi hơi cay thôi thì thích lắm). ;-))

I love the way you describe the Bun Bo Hue. You can’t find any places in Vietnam that have the same flavor of “Bun Bo Hue” even though they call it “Bun Bo Hue” lol 😅

Bun Bo Hue is my favorite Vietnamese soup. If you can find it in the US it is pretty bland. I found some legit version though from a Danang restaurant. Some of the best food I have ever had.
