Thanks. Been telling it since long before the news came out at the end of October. This video was from October 11th. And there's plenty more to say, still.
I am not surprised by that one bit. A lot of this flows out of what is being taught at these similar Ministries. I have heard it said, a system will produce what it is designed to produce - which, to me, sounds like a fancy way of saying the fruit tells you a lot about the tree, or other similar phrases. These outcomes are indicative of what is prioritized, collectively, and what needs examined. I no longer primarily approach these things by arguing theology or referencing Scripture as a default, because I am of the opinion that itself can be a trap and is part of the misuse of power - using references to the Bible or phrases like "the Lord is saying -" seem to me to be using the name of God for vanity, which, to me, is way worse than the common application of those verses to mean "don't cuss" or whatever. Sorry to hear you had similar experiences at Morningstar.
I understand that is one of the reasons I chose to walk away from the use of titles. Generally in my writings on Substack I still use some scripture as my audience is a bit more of a blend of people. But still, I do endeavor to keep away from as my Christian Lingo as possible as it has now become like a wall preventing the outside from getting close.@@SieNoel
Kind of strange I took a trip there once. Seemed familiar to me too! I was checking out other Houses of Prayer and happened upon this place when I went to Charlotte House of Prayer. Never stayed long enough to see deeper into the dynamics of these places, I can only say they seemed familiar to me.
As someone who never had any association with IHOPKC it's helpful to understand how those on staff and even interns were being treated work wise. Pushing you guys beyond your capabilities not only to stay healthy physically but mentally and spiritually with 48 hour work weeks and then more. I take it any grievance to say you need rest would result in manipulation of some sort to get you to continue going regardless, let alone care to the needs of friends, and like you said to even notice. It's helpful for us looking in but also for those currently in another ministry to have a check when this occurs. I'm certain they shifted sermons on stage to gaslit those listening to the Joy Boys. Any incoming "threat" needed to be checked. So sorry you and others went through so much. Just so abusive in all ways.😪😪
I've been a Christian for 35 years. Single. My gripe with 'married Christian couples...' they follow the religion of 'being married, having children.' They follow very little of what is in the real Holy Bible. The Duggar Family, polygamists, now this IHOPKC. They think 'they've arrived' and have to be oh-so-patient with the rest of us. I find these couples uncorrectable. I'm very different than I was 35 years ago. The Bible is the only book which is a mirror of wrong behavior in humans, and how it takes every day to take an honest look at ourselves and allow the real Holy Spirit to change us. I inherited negative family behavior patterns which by only following Jesus Christ can help me change for the better.
A 48 hour work week, plus? Any exceptions, can you request 40 hours? This is not appropriate or healthy for most people! You need time to rest/exercise/break. Hopefully Ihop is changing this!
You can do any level of service from full time, part time, or volunteer time at what ever level you want. I am at 30 hours part time as that is what works with my overall schedule. 48 hours seems like a lot, but your devotions (which is legit to do during prayer room hours), church attendance, small groups, meetings with others for ministry all counts. Plus you get 21 days personal time a year and 21 more days for fundraising. As a professional in the marketplace, I regularly worked 48 hours a week just on my job. Church and all that of course was extra - and yes, it was hard too. And most marketplace people start with 10 days vacation plus perhaps 3 sick days - some much less. Tired of listening to all the cry-baby's who have no idea how easy they have it. If you don't want to spend so many hours in ministry, reduce to part time or go somewhere else - this isn't difficult.
@@BitcoinfunforBoomers When I was there, i heard an intern say that attending forerunner church services/small groups did not count in the 48 hours! Again, most 20 somethings just starting out in the world need ample rest/exercise and time to figure out what being a young adult is. Pressure does not work, balance does. 40/20 hour work week please--unless of course they are Type A and request extra pressure/stress, thank you
@@SieNoel Hmm... That sounds pressuring/cultish from the outside, doesn't it? One size does not fit all! Hopefully Ihop can change hours to industry standards 20/40 hour workweek. Period 💗
@@BitcoinfunforBoomers you can't, actually - if you hold certain jobs there, you lose your job if you go under 48 hours, and the Nightwatch has, at times, even demanded midnight to six, six nights per week from even the old "prayer room staff" position, which is a volunteer basis and only supposed to be 12 hours per week yet they still demanded 36 hours minimum from anyone who sacred trusted in the nightwatch window. So that's great you had it easy as hell, but depending on who your supervisor is, things do or don't count - and that's exactly the problem. They selectively enforce rules or give favor depending on who you are and how much they want you around. I've held other jobs where I worked 70-80h/week (doing mortgages) but the difference is I was raking in 5 figures/month from that for my time. IHOPKC holds different people to different standards and those 48h were - for me and for friends of mine - under cult like control, with micromanagement of the heart and soul. You can downplay all you want because your experience was different, but again - that's exactly the problem. People are selectively given favor, others are selectively given chains, there are extreme discrepancies and no clear cut way to address them, mid-level leaders are given carte blanche authority and there is no consistent handbook of rights or job descriptions a person can refer to, it's a crap shoot whether you'll be abused or coast.
Good job of commenting. I would love to get you some dreams and prophetic words that I received over the last five years as to the destiny of IHOP long before any of this was exposed. We are not from IHOP I never have been.. but some of the people from IHOP have been asking for this information and agree with it....and I feel it would bless you very much to understand what God is saying about this. One of the dreams showed a complete shutdown of the ministry please advise if there's a way to contact you via an email I don't feel comfortable sharing all of this info in this format..
Thank you for sharing your story. Great council for all still involved in any Religious belief System.
This is excellent, important and necessary information. So glad you are telling the truth of what's going on at IHOPKC.

Absolutely, timely messages! A continuation of control, power, manipulation!
so write a book now and make some $$
Wow, except for the fact you use the name IHOP, I would have thought you were talking about MorningStar ministries.

Yep. Agree MSM is also a cult; false teachers, false prophets, and unbiblical structure.
@@Robert1849BreadstoneIs Morningstar a cult? In what way, can you explain? I like watching Morningstar, thank you ❤

Asking questions/making observations like that is part of what got folks like me and Nancy branded as troublemakers 🥲

Yikes more than 48 hours a week. And I’m assuming they didn’t pay you but that you raised support.
Absolutely ridiculous. IHOPKC is a great ministry. Jump on the bandwagon like this lady did
I take it you haven't been keeping up with recent news about the founder, Mike Bickle, and his sexual misconduct (including against underage girls)
