    As I was listening to the presser I immediately thought, I wonder what Nick will think of this? Personally, I'm in no doubt that this sadistic, psychopathic, narcissistic ogre has at least 10s of bodies across multiple states. I'm also relatively confident that 1993 at age 29 was likely not his first murder. He is truly the stuff of nightmares.
    I think it's partially a DNA case - it's probably not enough on its own within the confines of each individual murder but juries love DNA to back up other direct and circumstantial evidence that support a prosecution narrative. He will be convicted with the solid support of DNA.

    • @TCRS
      @TCRS  4 месяца назад +12

      Well I think this is the difference between a true crime rocket scientist and a true crime schlocket scientist - one will imagine dozens, or even hundreds of victims while the other will have a more realistic idea of reality anchored in the evidence, and locked into what we know, rather than what we imagine.
      It's sometimes hard to be scientific about cases like this when so many creators out there are sensationalizing and jumping on everything that's shock value as quickly as they can - especially, if you remember, trying to implicate other family members on this. Just because John Ray suggested it didn't make it legal fact, just as Shannon Gilbert is not connected to this case through any evidence, as much as many thought and hoped she was.
      You're right - it is partially a DNA case, and the DNA aspect is a very important part of putting the puzzle pieces together coherently.

    Rex found great pleasure in laying out dismembered bodies at places he knew they would find it. He probably liked to read about it in the newspaper. It wasn't for transport. He got aroused by the attention. The bodies and parts at Gilgo, he didn't want to be found. When he read that a witness had described his vehicle at the dump site for Jessica Taylor, he stopped dismembering the victims, just laying them at Gilgo, where he had placed bodyparts since at least 1996, and felt safe nobody would discover them. That's why it's unlikely he killed Shannan Gilbert. He wouldn't do that in close proximity to his safe dump site at Gilgo, knowing it would draw attention from law enforcement to his secret spot.

I learned my lesson with the Kohberger case: loose lips sink ships and murder investigations, so until we have official statements, formal changing documents, or sometimes though not always unsealed warrants, it's best not to get impatient with the police. And I'm no apologist for the police, but it seems like somewhere along the line--maybe after the Ramsey case?--it seems like most police investigators have learned the value of keeping silent until they have the their evidence for the DA very well sorted out.

I know there are brain connectivity and structural differences in psychopaths’ brains, but how do they get to the point of such depravity and go unnoticed for so long? He was also a sexual sadist and enjoyed kidnapping and torturing the women he abducted for weeks, even months, before killing them. He too was a meticulous planner and was very detail-oriented, even making his own torture boards and contraptions, even pulley systems. Listening to the "manifesto" he made that he forced his victims to listen to as soon as he abducted them in order to terrorize them even more, is the most chilling thing I've ever heard. RH gives me the same feeling of sheer terror.

    The Planning Document is chilling, and seems to have been compiled and perfected as he gained experience. It makes more sense to me, he killed off site and then brought the bodies back to the house. Less disturbance around the neighbourhood and where he would have privacy and time. Looking forward, sort of, to your breakdown of the Document. I'm only reluctant because its contents is truely horrifying.

    So brutal this guy. He apprehended Jessica on night of July 21 and then body dropped at eastern LI site on night of July 25. So he had Jessica for 4 days in his house. And his serial killer document mentioned hanging, torture …. and getting proper sleep so better for “playing”. So probably Jessica hanging alive from the basement ceiling for the 4 days undergoing horrific living torture and dismemberment. This woman did nothing to him. One of the worst humans ever to walk on earth. Where could this come from?

    I'm going to sound terribly unsophisticated and simplistic, Nick. This case is like a deck of cards: it has different suits and many cards in each suit. It's not only a DNA case, but a case of compounded evidence, the most important of which is Hueremann's own documentation of the atrocities perpetrated against vulnerable human beings.

    EXACLTY! The wife's hair could be on (some) of the victims from transfer in the home. It does NOT prove the wife participated or was there when the crimes occurred. The lawyer who is saying she clarely participated because her hairs were found on (some) of the victimes should be ashamed of himself.

    Great questions, 'What set him off'. Pleeeeese check out Nathan Adams on RUclips who has been investigating LISK for 13 years and has some INCREDIBLE info on his family ties and suddenly, the 'tentacles' that one suspects with Rex and the police re sex parties etc, start becoming clearer. Who is the REAL WH on the belt buckle and why did RH have it (or did he have a family member involved?). Honestly Nathan will give the pieces we aren't seeing and will help when developing a psychological picture as he goes back years into his past. Fascinatingly awful. This guy has done many, many more murders. Thank the lord they got him...
