Wish they would make a mini series about the Philly mob from the 80'-90'. All the crazy stuff would be epic to see on the big screen. Opening seen Bruno getting shotgunned n his car.. name it "Philly"...

he should he wrote a book about it from the top informer - maybe of all time . Scarfo's nephew Phil Leonetti and he gets a lot of his information from George Anastasia
Great show fellas - BUT - a question. How sure are you on your source that Anthony Persiano had previously been made into the Lucchese Family, and that was why he had been through a making ceremony before? According to George Anastasia, Persiano had previously been through a making ceremony with an unrecognised breakaway faction of the Philly Family led by Nicky Scarfo Jr. As such, his previous making ceremony was not recognised by the official family (and by extension LCN in general). His info is based on testimony from another man “made” in the same unofficial ceremony, Salvatore Pellulo, in the so-called FirstPlus Case. This would explain why he had to go through a ceremony “again”, without the seemingly odd situation of transferring from another family, several years passing, and then being made for second time. Anastasia wrote this in an article titled Mafia Blood Oath, dated April 05 2021, published on the Jersey Man Magazine website (still accessible at the time of writing this comment). I will put a link in a reply to this comment as sometimes comments with links get deleted and I don’t want to lose the whole thing. Thanks Fellas 👍
South Philly still has a large Italian population. Probably 35-45k (not counting nearby neiborhoods). That is pretty large when you look at the supposedly Italian populated areas in Brooklyn and Queens. That is more than in Bensonshurst, Ozone Park, or Howard Beach.
Finally Philly getting its props , I hate hearing ny guys always bashing and clowning Philly mob , but the older ny guys like Sammy the bull and gotti always respected Philly

That's quite interesting about Persiano. I always thought and heard that you can't be made in two different families, at least that's what John Pennisi stated.
So both of the living Chang Bro's (Joey)wasn't aligned with Joey Merlino and aligned with John Stanfa and Johnny Chang is with Mazzone,Merlino,Borgesi and Uncle Joe Ligambi🤔💯🤷
Mikey Chang opposed Stanfa. Joey Chang was Stanfa’s underboss. Johnny Chang was locked up at the time. So was their dad Chickie, who was sending word for Mikey & Joey Merlino to stand down. Johnny was trying to play mediator behind bars to No avail.
@@BIGGLOUPR Michael ciangalini was the muscle that allowed Merlino to pull off the power play in South Philly before Stanfa was taken down by the Feds, Mike Chang was the 90s version of Salvatore Testa, The only person that was gonna go up against Chang was either really powerful or someone really crazy, Unfortunately someone really crazy got him.

One thing I always disagree with is what's said about Merlino winning the war not sure I agree. Stanfa went to jail that's how it ended or gave him the position. If Stanfa doesn't go to jail as much as New York specifically the Gigante/Genovese family kinda backed off they may have stepped in and put Merlino down. It was getting too tense and Gigante wanted $$ from Stanfa and philly with war and heat business was being ruined. Now losing key guys like Veasey and others put Stanfa against the ropes with big shooters Merlino had I think more capable hard-core young guns.
