    Excellent review. Could you please show us a small tutorial on your talking head videos? Assume your record the sound separately on your laptop and sync with video later? I’m new to this would like to learn and your tutorial would really help and appreciated.

    Bro how are you able to mount the videomic go 2 to the boom arm?

  • @kugelfunk

    Why did you set the High Pass Filter to 150 Hz? When you switched from the Macbook mic to the Go II I was so disappointed that it lacks so much bottom end. Then I saw you had HPF on. Usually, there is no need for 150Hz unless there are external noises this low from machines etc Your voice sounds much better without HPF or 75Hz.

    This is one of the best reviews for this Mic. I like it a lot.
    BTW, did you edit your audio in post production?

      Thanks, glad you liked it! It's a great small mic with awesome performance.
      No edits were made to the audio aside from adjusting the base gain levels which were originally recorded at about -12db.

    12:45 - BTW, you're supposed to loop the cable through the threads so when you accidentally tug on it it won't produce these impact sounds ;)

    • @paulAntill
      @paulAntill 2 года назад +1

      So long as you have your main source connected via USB-C that should work. However, keep in mind that if you want those advanced EQ settings, the RODE app does need to be running for those to work.

    Great review, thanks! :) Do you use the High Pass Filter or Noise Gate, or both? I'm wondering which to use to reduce or eliminate background noises like air conditioning or heating that turns on randomly. Thanks!

      What are those? New to this. Thanks

    • @Tennisfiles
      @Tennisfiles Год назад

      @@palestar828 they are software settings that will not pick up sounds past a certain decibel threshold. This is my basic understanding. So like a low blowing of air from a vent you could use one of those settings to not let the noise through. Cheers.

    The VideoMic Go II is fantastic, almost as good as the VideoMic NTG. Indoors boomed just out of frame I can't tell a difference. IMO the old version v1 was trash. This one is great for $99 a no-brainer.

    Rode videomic Go 2 and Sennheiser mke 400. Which of these two microphones is better to use for ASMR videos? Some bloggers claim that the Sennheiser mke 400 microphone has relatively strong 'self noise', is that true?

    Just curious if you tried booming it, and how how good it is at a distance of 18-24" away from the source for dialogue indoors. Thanks in advance!

    I am looking forward to a mic as an allround functiong device. I want to use it with PC, and DSLR. I guess I can use the Rode Videomic Go 2 with USB-C to USB-A for PC (or does it need to be USB-C to USB-C?) and use the 3,5 one for the DSLR?
    For using with PC which armstand should be used?
    I can't really decide which one to get actually.

    I haven't bought this yet but I want to know if it could be powered by a USB-C battery pack in a situation where I need to hook it to my phone through the 3.5 jack while using the phone's USB-C input for video input (Accsoon M1 ) . Basically I want to live stream photoshoots directly from my camera to the internet with a good mic (No mic output from my camera when taking pictures) I can already do this using my Black Magic Video Assist 12G & HDMI transmitter but I have the Accsoon M1 now & it lets me do it with a smaller more portable setup by just connecting my phone to my camera but I'm looking for a mic that can connect to the phone through the 3.5 jack when the USB-C port is being used.
