I really like DS Bowser's Castle, it feels like combining a traditional console Bowser's Castle with the flat ones, with the flatter areas over lava. It's definitely the most underrated Bowser's Castle in my opinion, I can see why some people think it's just too similar to GCN, but most Bowser's Castles are admittedly similar anyway. DS is still a fun iteration.

Solid ranking which was worth a wait! All the Bowser Castle tracks have been pretty solid and this makes me hope that they add atleast one in the MK8D DLC. If I had to pick my favorite version out of all these, it would be the N64 one.
I think Wii U's Bowser's Castle "bombastic" theme does fit Bowser's personality and how he would want a racetrack named after him to be like! Anyway great video Albert!
My galactic brother, what a video!!! Seriously dude, your content is inspirational. Can’t wait to collaborate again and continue climbing together. Congrats on 3K!!! 😊🎉

Nobody will agree with me, but GBA Bowser Castle 3 might be my favorite track from wii, if not top 3. I LOVE the music, ominous atmosphere, track design, and the overall physics (maybe the ramps could use some work but they’re fine). Overall, one of my favorites from a game with amazing tracks.
Finally, been waiting ages for this. This will be fun. Especially because we desperately need at least one bowsers castle in the booster pass and I don't count airship fortress.
These are pretty fair in my opinion. 3DS Bowser Castle is underrated as hell but I hope no one hates this, but 8 Deluxe's Bowser Castle is THE BEST. I’d argue GC Bowser’s Castle did almost replicate the feel of N64. It had haunting music, the level itself felt realistically designed. Tho n64’s vibe are still most excellent. Still love the music.
Great video as usual and I agree with your ranking (except for the Wii U one because while I see where you're coming from I would've still put it at least slightly higher)! 0:40 I'd say Bowser's Castle is less iconic than Rainbow Road also because it's based on a preexisting Mario location while the latter got introduced for the first time in Mario Kart specifically. Still, definitely as much of a staple of the series and I absolutely love it, too! 18:34 A generator? We may never know for sure, but it's really cool nevertheless!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who puts GBA BC4 high up! Believe it or not, it's my favorite BC of all for having an intense 'Final Boss' feel with being the longest SC track, its epic music, and alternate routes. Again, Super Circuit needs more recognition. Great vid as always Albert, plus more Gerbaltic lore :)
I like DS Bowser's Castle, but I agree in something, the uniqueness it has with the rolling cylinder could have been more punishing, but it wasn't, so... it's quite disappointing now that I analyze it
Considering how easy it is to fall off that spinning platform (via something like a shell), instant death would be a bit much. It already slows you down a ton

I personally like Double Dash's the best, it has the most interesting design for me. I feel DS was too low on the list, but it's cool to know I'm not the only one who thinks that way about 8's Bowser's Castle. I feel like Mario Kart 8's nitro tracks generally have a problem of being too straightforward, with some exceptions like Toad Harbor.
Here are my rankings based on someone that has not played every Mario Kart yet: 8. All Super Mario Karts There isn't much to them, so this is an obvious pick. 7. Mario Kart DS This track could have gotten a higher spot if the music did not sound like a broken washing machine. 6. Mario Kart Double Dash This one is good and you might be surprised we have a good one this early. Browser spitting giant fireballs at you is a neat touch and its good overall. 5. All Mario Kart Super Circuit ones All the remakes of them are awesome. That's all there is to say. 4. Mario Kart 7 This one is an underrated gem. The Tour remake is awesome. I think the spinning tube makes this one unique in a way. 3. Mario Kart 8 This one is also underrated, just like Mario Kart 7. The anti gravity section where Bowser punches the track makes this one unique. 2. Mario Kart 64 I despised this one when I first saw it, but now this one is awesome. Moving Thwomps block your way in the halls, Bowser statues breathing fire, this one has it all. But this one is nothing compared to... 1. Mario Kart Wii This one is a masterpiece. You start out by jumping off a bridge into the castle, where the halls sway. You go down a hallway, with Thwomps blocking your path, and you get to a section where Bowser spits giant fireballs, not to mention the insane glitch people do. You then go down a large hallway with a fire bar and Thwomps and you go outside while avoiding lava springs and then you finish the lap.
Ironically, I think if the team didn't remake Bowser's Castle 4, I wouldn't have fallen in love with that track, it's made me see how great the track's layout really is!
What do you have against the name Rock Rock Mountain? It’s the perfect name because it alludes to both the obvious fact that you’re racing along a rock mountain and the rock music that plays. Alpine Pass is just generic in comparison. Baffling considering the other tracks with regional name differences are great either way (Music Park/Melody Motorway, Piranha Plant Slide/Piranha Plant Pipeway, Wario Shipyard/Wario’s Galleom)
I think my favorite part about 64 Bowser's castle, particularly the wii version though the OG is just as good, is that Bowser's castle is usually the semifinal, and as such is usually overshadowed by Rainbow Road, but for this one, it's the actual finale, which makes it feel a lot more special, not to mention that it's also probably the most difficult BC prior to Wii and It being the most memorable one due to its subtlety rather than it's gimmicks makes it feel like the definitive BC.
This was a great ranking ngl! Finally someone who really likes bc4 My top 5 would be: 5.GBA BC3 (Wii) 4.N64 Bowser's Castle (both) 3.GBA BC4 2.GCN Bowser's Castle 1.Wii Bowser's Castle
I hope we get one of the GBA Bowser Castles and GBA Rainbow Road should also return in the middle of a cup like SNES Rainbow Road since it's highly wanted but its flat layout also doesn't scream a cool final area for a full console game though and Wii Rainbow Road would suit the end better with Gamecube Bowser Castle coming before it.
Sorry, but almost everything you said for mk7 Bowser Castle can be said for mkds Bowser Castle lol (stop hating mkds just for the sake of hating, it was fun for some time, but now it's just repetitive)
I honestly don’t get why everyone hates bowsers castle 2 (snes). I do think that it has a lot to do with the fact that it’s exclusive to the Mario kart games with weaker drift mechanics but the layout conceptually isn’t bad. Also, the fact that there’s a dead end is honestly extremely funny and in character for bowser. Honestly this is my most wanted snes track to come back for BCP
My ranking: 1: 8 2: Wii 3: 3DS 4: GameCube 5: DS 6: those flat ones that they kept porting before MK8 came out. 7: the ones that I haven’t played (Sidenote: my ranking is mostly based on the theme song and whether the castle has a moving Bowser statue and what that statue does and looks like)
Warning: This comment may have unpopular opinions that could change the world by storm, so brace yourself. With that said, let’s go. I have seen the full video of this ranking, and overall, it’s a great ranking of the Bowser Castle tracks throughout the years. I actually would like to give my own opinions within the ranking, so let’s begin… For the 2 SNES tracks, it’s a shame that they weren’t given another chance for a remake, especially 2, because this was back in 1992, with 1 being more on the safe side, but maybe they could have a remake in the future. I played GBA Bowser Castle 2 on the DS, and I don’t mind its remake here, though nowadays, it could have been better, and the DS Bowser Castle track is ok, I liked the spinning cylinder and the moving platforms over lava, and I also played this before the GameCube version. The original GBA Bowser Castle 1 is Ok, but nothing too special unlike the other 3 in the game. The 8 version is ok to me, but it’s not as good as it once was, and it is the only Bowsers Castle track in the game, which I think is ALMOST criminal, because we could have had another one appearing. GBA Bowser Castle 2 is pretty good, and is the only track from the Flower Cup not to return in 8 Deluxe! The remake of GBA Bowser Castle 1 is infuriating because it’s the only GBA track officially remade in 7, which thankfully was fixed later on, but the actual course itself is good, mainly thanks to it being an improvement over the original one. GBA Bowser Castle 3 was actually the first track to return from the Star Cup in Super Circuit, and I agree that both are great, unique for taking place outside the castle walls, and I like it! Honestly give it a try when you can. SNES Bowser Castle 3 is surprisingly high on the list, just missing the top 5, and I think this may be possible for the Booster Course Pass if they ever include it! 5 with GCN Bowser’s Castle is a Great track, I Never played it back in the day, but this is definitely one of the best tracks to be made, and a recommend from me! 3DS Bowser’s Castle isn’t bad at all, I never had much for it, still, it works well for the original, and if it was remade in a future game, I wouldn’t mind this at all. GBA Bowser Castle 4 is surprising to me, and definitely a good second-last track for the GBA, it’s ironic that it’s the only one not remade from the original system, which is a crime, because it SHOULD be remade! Come on Nintendo, give it some love for once! Wii Bowser’s Castle is definitely amazing to me. It’s more simple in track layout, but what mechanics were added here certainly managed to make it chaotic, and I love it! I personally think it should be number one, but there is one more… N64 Bowser’s Castle, I mean, I can’t say anything bad about it, being the final track of the Star Cup in 64, and the final course of the Retro Grand Prix, I adore it, you can’t disagree, and I hope it gets one more chance in a future Mario Kart game! So that’s my thoughts on the tracks in general. I also liked your own segments, getting away from the doubles, so good for you. And honestly, Rock Rock Mountain is the American name, with the British going for Alpine Pass, which I am slightly disappointed about, but it does make sense too. Overall, fantastic work mate, hope you continue to make videos in the future! Thanks for reading, and hopefully, I’ll see you next time!
Why did the bowser castles in mkds get such low rankings? The gba bowser castle 2 remake was one of the few good retro tracks in mkds, and the nitro bowser castle was one of the best tracks in the game. They had fun turns and obstacles, like the spinning metal cylinder, and the endless ramps over the lava. Not to mention the really cool shortcut in the nitro bowser castle.
The list is pretty good, apart from Wii U BC. I don't understand how you feel it's unrealistic. Everything in the course still really resembles a Bowser's Castle track. I definitely think it's better than at least Double Dash's version because that one feels pretty boring.
so basically what you find interesting is alternate paths that are basically mirrored and more realism to a regular castle with almost no fire or lava. I mean that literally goes against the bowser's castle theme. I mean it's bowser for petes sake, he breathes fire. And also ds bowser castle #1 all the way
But wait what about RMX Bowser castle that is on tour? Is weird that they decided to make a rmx course of a gba bowser castle but no adding none of the SNES Bowser Castles on tour 😐
True! I think if I had it on the list, I'd probably put it between #14 and #13, since I thought the gameplay was bizarre and unfitting for an also boring Bowser Castle track from a layout-perspective...
My ranking: 15) SNES Bowser Castle 1: BOOOOOORING!!! It's literally a lesser version of BC3 from the Star Cup. It has nothing to remember when you play this course. It's not even an SMK symptom! MC2 has a big jump, the Ghost Valleys have neat feather shortcuts, or DP3 has mandatory jumps. What does this one has? Uh... some jumps. Something that BC3 does way better. 14) GBA Bowser Castle 1 (original): This track is literally just a shorter version of SNES BC1 that is shaped like a glorified rectangle. You play it, you immediately forget it. 13) GBA Bowser Castle 1 (remake): Same, but at least we have better graphics. I like the gliding section & shortcut. 12) SNES Bowser Castle 2: This track... actually has a good layout! It has varied track design and pulling out a feather shortcut from the dead end can be pretty satisfying! The jumps section is also really fun. 11) GBA Bowser Castle 2: I like the part where there's several jump pads, with some troll ones and some other real ones. Sadly, the other parts are too basic, and the skybox doesn't stand out enough. 10) 3DS Bowser's Castle: The weakest 3D Bowser Castle. No contest. It just feels like the developers couldn't agree on what would be the main gimmick of the track and just dumped everything in one track without it being cohesive. 9) Wii U Bowser's Castle: Good layout, great music, cool dangerous atmosphere. The only issue that holds it back form being higher is the uncohesive scenery problem. 7) GCN Bowser's Castle: I love the ominous atmosphere of this track. Sadly, it also has really boring sections with not much more than boring turns. 8) SNES Bowser Castle 3 (original): It's already the best SNES track! It has varied track design, it's efficiently lengthy, and it has cool jump sections! 6) GBA Bowser Castle 3: Gorgeous skybox, cool music, fun layout, beautiful color palette, it's what SNES Bowser Castles should have been in terms of scenery & atmosphere. 5) DS Bowser Castle: It has a fun layout and not as much boring moments as GCN. It has a cool focus on split paths, dangerous sections, a cool spinning log section, a dangerous feeling music, and a fun moving platform sections! 4) Wii Bowser's Castle: It's a great course! The shaking road is fun to trick off, the section with the Bowser statue is really tense with halfpipes you'll be forced to take, and the final section is great and pretty too! I like the music, it has a hopeless feeling I really love. 3) SNES Bowser Castle 3 (8DX remake): I would have never expected this, but they managed to make a good SNES remake. The color palette is gorgeous, the metal music is such a banger, the scenery has such a dangerous feeling, and it's soooo exhalirating on 200cc. I especially love the lava falls at the start, it's really dangerous-looking, which is a great point for a Bowser Castle! 2) GBA Bowser Castle 4: Somehow, a flat piece of cardboard managed to score a very honorable 2nd place! The skybox is really scary and contributes to the tense feeling to this course. The turns are tight and fun to take. The layout is really fun and it has varied track design. The obstacles are varied. And the lava pools make the track harder and more fun! I beg you, Nintendo, please remake this track in a mainline Mario Kart game one day! 1) N64 Bowser's Castle: This is the winner. No contest. It has a fun layout, varied obstacles, a gorgeous color palette, and a constant dangerous and almost hopeless feeling. But the chef's kiss is the ominous aspect. It feels like a real castle Bowser could live and fight Mario in. I especially love the part where we're inside the castle because of how scary and dangerous it feels. And the realism worked on me because when I played it as a kid on MKWii, I used to think the carpet staircase that comes just before you exit the castle was actually Bowser's bed. Overall, this track just has it all, and I'm happy Mario Kart Wii kept its legacy alive! (SMH, another reason why it has the best nitro AND retro track selection in the series...)
WHAT HOW THE **FUDGE** IS 3DS BOWSER’S CASTLE HIGHER THAN N64 BOWSER’S CASTLE IT’S A FRICKING MESS!!! 1) The layout is forgettable. 2) The track is too easy. 3) The sections are so jumbled up that it feels that the developers didn’t agree about what they would put in this track, so they dumped all of their ideas in one track without it being cohesive.
I really like DS Bowser's Castle, it feels like combining a traditional console Bowser's Castle with the flat ones, with the flatter areas over lava. Idea for the leaked enclosure tour track, a corn maze!
DS bowser castle being at the bottom is one of the worst takes i’ve ever seen
HOW ABOUT YOU RANK EVERY SNES MARIO CIRCUIT IN EVERY MARIO KART GAME
You should rank all Ice Tracks that have appeared in the Mario Kart series.
the next game should have a 1 lap/3 section bowser's castle
Mario Kart 8’s Bowser Castle is the best Bowser’s Castle in the entire series, why put it in the BOTTOM OF C TIER?!
6:02 ds bowser castle 2 mm yes
8:54 all jokes aside, I still think Alpine Pass sounds millions of times better than “Rock Rock Mountain”.
I don't know why GBA Bowser's Castle 4 hasn't been ever remade
You ready for bowsers castle 3
I love the characters on ur channel😌
14:14
14:20
People say bc2 is the worst in the series but i completely disagree and bc2 is just mid. Figure 8 circuit is the wordt course in the series.
My ranking:
1: 8
2: Wii
3: 3DS
4: GameCube
5: DS
6: those flat ones that they kept porting before MK8 came out.
7: the ones that I haven’t played
(Sidenote: my ranking is mostly based on the theme song and whether the castle has a moving Bowser statue and what that statue does and looks like)
Warning: This comment may have unpopular opinions that could change the world by storm, so brace yourself. With that said, let’s go.
I have seen the full video of this ranking, and overall, it’s a great ranking of the Bowser Castle tracks throughout the years.
I actually would like to give my own opinions within the ranking, so let’s begin…
For the 2 SNES tracks, it’s a shame that they weren’t given another chance for a remake, especially 2, because this was back in 1992, with 1 being more on the safe side, but maybe they could have a remake in the future.
I personally think it should be number one, but there is one more…
N64 Bowser’s Castle, I mean, I can’t say anything bad about it, being the final track of the Star Cup in 64, and the final course of the Retro Grand Prix, I adore it, you can’t disagree, and I hope it gets one more chance in a future Mario Kart game!
Where would you rank SNES Bowser Castle 3 and GBA Bowser Castle 4 remakes from tour? Both of them got incredible remakes!
I think I'd put them both in 4th place! I slightly prefer GBA Bowser Castle 4 in MKT over SNES Bowser Castle 3, but they're close!
64, Ds and 7 are my top 3 FAVORITE bowser's castle
Cuz they are unique and *original*
Unlike wii and 8 that i always see ranking high *somehow*
The list is pretty good, apart from Wii U BC. I don't understand how you feel it's unrealistic. Everything in the course still really resembles a Bowser's Castle track. I definitely think it's better than at least Double Dash's version because that one feels pretty boring.
so basically what you find interesting is alternate paths that are basically mirrored and more realism to a regular castle with almost no fire or lava. I mean that literally goes against the bowser's castle theme. I mean it's bowser for petes sake, he breathes fire. And also ds bowser castle #1 all the way
13: SNES Bowser Castle 2
12: SNES Bowser Castle 1
11: GBA Bowser Castle 2
10: 3DS Bowser’s Castle
9: GBA Bowser Castle 1
8: SNES Bowser Castle 3
7: GBA Bowser Castle 3
6: GBA Bowser Castle 4
5: Wii Bowser’s Castle
4: Wii U Bowser’s Castle
3: N64 Bowser’s Castle
2: GCN Bowser’s Castle
1: DS Bowser’s Castle
you deserve more subscribers!!!!
Jeez how many castles does Bowser have?
I'm going to guess that you are a Virgo.
FINALLY SOMEONE NOT LIKING MKDS BOWSER CASTLE.
L video. DS deserved better.
No it didnt. DS bowser castle IS a ripoff gcn bowser castle
@@Noshadesfunky but better
I personally would put Bowser Caste above Bowser caste but you do you
Criminal ds disrespect in here :[
My ranking:
15) SNES Bowser Castle 1: BOOOOOORING!!!
You got Siblings.
Not counting any remakes:
1. Wii Bowser’s Castle
2. 3DS Bowser’s Castle
3. Wii U Bowser’s Castle
4. N64 Bowser’s Castle
5. DS Bowser Castle
6. GCN Bowser’s Castle
7. GBA Bowser Castle 4
8. GBA Bowser Castle 3
9. SNES Bowser Castle 3
10. GBA Bowser Castle 1
11. GBA Bowser Castle 2
12. SNES Bowser Castle 1
13. SNES Bowser Castle 2
