I agree completely! I edited everything together and didn’t know how fast it was going to be until I was trying to record commentary over it. Took me like 20 tries to get to talking fast enough to not fall super behind!
Nice one, i like how you bring different characters to the run instead of going all in with one pair. Would love to see a run without cheesing the begining. start with 2 lvl 1s of your choice and go with it (maybe choose precise retirement goals to unlock somebody for later). You up to it? Do you think it can be done?
TLDR: I’m working on it, it’s just hard, and the strategies I came up with distracted me and birthed this run instead. It CAN be done, it just can’t beat this run. That’s what I was working on and how I came up with all the character swapping for this run, but some of the strats really excited me and I saw the potential paired with the lightning bolts and wanted to try it. I got this run on my second day of attempts once I put lightning back in. The frustrating part of the starting characters only run is some of the really easy levels in this run become 3 minutes slower each. No one else can easily 1 shot some of the bosses or altars at the end of levels so barrow lair, temple of the elements, treacherous divide, lair of the unseeing eye, nightmare peak, plane of night (this one is super rough), and most of all slave pens, become super brutal. There is no good way to unlock lightning during the run. I could potentially get “kill 15 vermlings” and get the chest in level 1 to unlock a random side scenario and have that scenario be “well of the unfortunate” send 3 characters to spawn extra vermlings. Overall killing 15 would take about 6 minutes not counting load times so it would take about as long as the strat in this run (purely for the lightning unlock without any prosperity). Another strategy that I have been thinking about is doing a TAS run where I get perfect city events, or maybe if some sort of rng/seed manipulation is possible to get a specific order of city events then I actually thing eclipse can be super fast. You need -10 reputation to unlock eclipse. Back when I routed “unlock all classes” I knew the exact numbers of city events with negative reputation but I know for sure there is a -3, 2 -2s, a road event -2, and multiple -1s sprinkled throughout the deck but it’s super frustrating to be on a good run and just sitting at -8 or -9 reputation and having no way to fix it. Last night in my first 12 attempts I got the -3 as my first event 3 times somehow (should be a 1/30 chance each time) so it feels like rng manipulation is possible I just have no idea how to do it. Eclipse’s teleport card helps on a lot of levels. The run would mostly be similar to this with a scoundrel being subbed in for a poor man’s lightning.
Do you think its possible to play on deadly through the campaign on 4p without abusing the overpowered classes and cheeses like invisibility in to block doors? I finished most on +2 but always felt a bit bad since playing solo is an advantage but +3 really feels like there is no margin for error at all and you need to min/max a lot
In short yes. Some levels are just stupid hard though. For example Levels 1 and 2 can be beaten with the starting classes with no items relatively easily, but 3 and 4, inox encampment and crypt of the damned it gets super hard even with 60~ gold each. I have considered trying to do a playthrough on deadly 3 player with no items but I’ve been busy recently
Absolutely insane. Loved watching this.
Thanks!
Really fun to watch! It looks so crazy at first, but I’m getting used to it 😁

I like this format
Thanks!

@@ucgxanathos2171 i was not thinking about beating this time run to be honest. The idea was to see how good one could do playing the game... naturally
@@windo508 yeah I’ve considered making it a new category. “Starting classes only”
Do you not get the miss modifier in harder modes?
@@tvrizzle1 there is a “reduced randomness” setting that removes both misses and crits replacing them with -2 and +2 respectively
@ ahh! That’s cool!

This. Wow. I just
did you ever think of streaming your runs :)
