A damaged childhood and severe relationship issues.. Unable to keep a relationship.. Unable to grow financially nor spiritually.. I was considering hypnotherapy.. I even spoke to a counselor(the hypnotist) to understand the program better.. It was all good until she mentioned Aura cleansing.. I am not in favor of it.. So I asked her to hold it off for a while.. In my heart I really feel like going for this.. I have probably reached a down point in my life.. What m I really opening myself to? Also how bad is inner child healing therapy?

Hypnosis will create a lot of false memories of things that never even happened, causing you to think you have even more things to work through. It becomes a never ending loop of things that need healing. Its a drmonic deception. Its the devil's work. The honest truth is, Jesus is the real healer. I am willing to have a session with you to talk you through everything, and even heal you in Jesus' name. It goes without saying that with Jesus, all healings and deliverance are free of charge. Jesus never charges.

wowww what actually brought me here was I reading on sleep in the bible Romans 13:11. While looking up the greek definition of this word I find "Hupnos" which is the origin of the word Hypnosis. Satan is so sneaky. Hypnos means greek god of sleep. There are different types of sleep. this video helped a lot my research continues
The problem with hypnosis is that you start relying completelly on that to change yourself and your life instead of praying to God and asking Him to change you. You start worship hypnosis. Often people using hypnosis for their selfish desires and pride (how to be more succesful , how to be more popular , how to develop charisma , having more money ) and not asking God to clean their soul from their wickedness. What is the benefit of gaining the whole world and losing your soul in the process ?
That makes sense, at least much more than saying it's demonic or anything like that. If you put anything and this means anything in place of God you are going against the first commandment, but it doesn't mean that thing is bad, it is just your attitude towards it.

Sounds kinda extreme to think that it is so dangerous to even space out or doze off, because the demons will attack at that moment. Why do you make the same mistakes over and over again? It just pushes nonbelievers away. A new method or technique comes along and because you don’t understand it, you just assume it’s from the devil. If someone goes into trance and they can’t remember what happened or what they said, or it’s a different personality that is evil, obviously something is not right, so then take them to a priest. Otherwise, they’re supposed to be in control the whole time, just in a heightened state of relaxation. Yes, we are in the middle of a spiritual war. However, judge a technique by the fruit it bears. Look at what they are doing to children now. All the grooming and abuse and sex trafficking. Because they’re weak, they don’t even try to protect children from The abuse they themselves suffered. Instead, they’re embracing this evil and claiming their minor attracted persons. That’s real evil. Instead, we get panicky, because somebody got healed and we’re not sure exactly how. So during the Hipnosis, say a prayer of protection.

Thank you. I felt that getting hypnotized was a bad idea. I really need to quit smoking and very much want to, my life is depending in it, but for some reason I've been very weak in doing so. My mom keeps telling me to go to the hypnotist that comes twice a year to the area. Her husband was hypnotized by him 2 years ago now for smoking and he hasn't had a cigarette since. So I've been feeling tempted in doing it but watching this helped. I know that I have to do it myself. May God bless you.

So what you are saying is that when we go through our conscious levels at sleeptime (bedtime) we are allowing opportunity for the devil to sneak into our mind. Or for that matter anytime, we trance ourselves when watching television, movies or plain old daydreaming/visualizing, planning and meditating, we are in another level of conscious and therefore allowing for demon activity? God is so good to me! I had hypnosis and definitely had what I now recognise as spiritual experiences. It didn't even bring me the healing I was seeking. God is so good to me. This could have seriously damaged me!
Stage hypnotism and Clinical Hypnotherapy are two completely different things. With stage hypnotism, they throw around suggestions before the big act to observe the audience and pick out people who seem to respond to their suggestions, then those people feel obligated to perform for the crowd. You can not be hypnotized unless you want to be. You do not have to accept a suggestion. A good hypnotherapist will use your own words to strengthen your chance of success. This "trance" state is just deep relaxation and concentration. Just like with literally anything in this world. Hypnotherapy can be good or bad depending on the intentions of your hypnotherapist. What is their code of ethics? Do they match yours? Is the hypnotherapist a Christian? What do you think people said about antipsychotics or other chemotherapy or aromatherapy when they started to merge into the mainstream? Do you think that people thought they were demonic? Check it out for yourself. Yet those things are saving lives every single day. I feel like Christians deserve to take advantage of this wonderful healing modality for themselves so that they can build their mind and body up and be able to worship, serve and keep their mind on God without compulsive thoughts or intense pain keeping their minds occupied. We are literally in a trance state every time we are driving and lose track of time, every time we get lost in a movie, right before we fall asleep. All those states are like hypnosis. Awareness is key here. I was so consumed with PTSD that I could barely focus on God. After a lot of work with hypnotherapy and life coaching, I started to climb out of that hole and feel good again! It was then that I started to feel a pull towards that goodness and got back into the word and haven't looked back since. It is truly beautiful how these things work together for good! God is not my personal servant and he doesn't want me to sit idol. I believe in taking action for my body and mind and getting it right for God. Afterward, if I still have no success I will know in my heart there is nothing more I can do except pray and have faith that God's will be done in the end. If I ever felt conviction in my heart that I am leading people away from Christ then I will Stop immediately. Until that day I will continue to help my Christian clients work on their own anxiety, addictions, compulsions, trauma, self-love, and self-improvement. Tbf I can't call myself a full Christian even tho I do believe in God and almost everything connected to God. I recently started thinking and questioning a lot about spirits and meditation. I thought of becoming a medium out of pure interest in this topic but I didn't pursue it any further Cuz I was to scared of a bad spirit taking to much control over me. Not long ago I had the same point you've talked about in my mind. I personally believe that all of our thoughts in our mind come from Satan and he is constantly trying to make us miserable. With the hypnosis you talked bout we only make his job easier. We simply give up our body and our spirit up for misuse. Like I said before that scares me.

Self hypnosis relates to NLP - Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It’s about filling your mind with certain thoughts so as to manipulate your perceptions, and thus your experiences, from which behaviour is altered. So, you change your behaviour by pre-programming your mind. Self-hypnosis can be as dangerous as regular hypnosis in that you effectively let go of your will in exchange for whatever you like to hypnotise yourself over. Whenever you let go of your will, you open the door for another being to take control over it.

However despite of some studies concerning hypnosis, i still have doubt about it, because there is no clear consensus between scholars of what hypnosis is and second problem is that does hypnosis make you do something that you truly do not will beforehand? I think that when it comes to mind control, it might be only possible by brainwashing people ( it is not the same as hypnosis) and if hypnosis is what would make you do something unwillingly, then it would be reasonable to ponder, if the person is possessed and not hypnotized..

There was once a Hypnotist. At a wedding he made some men fill up clay pots with water. He hypnotized the people at the wedding into accepting that the water is actually wine and got them hypnotized to feel that they are drunk. Everyone had a great time!
I have an ex that made the name jiodi for online games. He told me its god spelled Ji o di, g o d The way we even started dating had been not good but i was 18 and i asked him to take me home and he didnt. Someone warned me about him after he didn't take me home and i listened but i was stubborn and really had an abusive dad. My dad tried to kill my mom and i was dropped as an infant by him. Demons have had their fun scaring me from in other people since my childhood. My mom and dad fought and i was very little and told my mom she wasn't my real mom, that was probably actually me talking to whatever went in my mom. I had a visit from hatman at 5 yrs old. There's gotta be a demon associated with hypnosis based on your knowledge, since i cannot find a specific spirial shape on any demon encounter from others testimonials i believe this demon was in my ex. I’m going through this with my dad right now. He connected with this hypnotist about a month or two after I moved back. I had just started trying to reconnect with him after leaving when I was in my teens and barely speaking for about ten years. He now hosts seminars at his house and recruits other people to buy into this hypnotist’s “wealth building seminars”
My dad thinks he’s a Christian but refuses any time I tell him he’s messing with witchcraft by dabbling with hypnotism, and even worse using it to worship wealth/money (mammon)

David strengthened himself in the Lord. Meaning he reinforced who God was in his own will/power. Hypnosis is a form of one strengthening themselves - without Christ yes this is witchcraft but with Christ this can be a great tool for the saints that are traumatised. Psalms 46:10 tells us to be still and know that He is God that translates as stop striving. When we relax our minds, our bodies and we step into deeper brainwave states it’s why we go to sleep because we’re moving from beta to alpha and so on. So when we relax that beta state we are in moves to alpha. So the reason people are so relaxed is because they are essentially going to sleep whilst simultaneously still being in a beta state. This is NOT demonic, this is natural. So when we are in those states of mind and we stop striving providing the suggestions are routed in the word of God this can be a magnificent tool for changing us epigenetically as Paul described in Romans 12
Be still and know "I am God" these are thoughts that come to the mind when one with GOD.... they are affirmations to your trueself, and not from the adversary, the carnal mind. Every man has been hypnotised into a false belief and must deny the self belief, and listen only to the Father, the logos of GOD that tabinacles within us, so that man no longer relies on his belly with no legs (foundations) to stand upon but that of GOD alone.... a spiritual mind of peace and love.... that of the mind that was in Jesus when GOD poured out his spirit on the sons and daughters.
I’ve gone to A hypnotist because I need a physical healing. I got sick two months after becoming a Christian and prayed to Jesus so much at the end I called the hypnotist. What shall I do I know Jesus heals but I am not healed. I’m trying every single method of healing
You aren't trusting in the Lord if you are turning to a hypnotist. You may think you are but you have to give everything to the Lord and accept his will.

I’m 16 and I don’t have to think twice whether hypnotism is bad or not. If you have to rely on Someone to put you in a trans in order for them to “help” you overcome a fear or stop a bad habit or “help” you work through a personal issue then it’s probably not from God. YOU!!! Can not skip the process in order to see the progress. I personally think it is unhealthy mentally for someone to never truly work through there issues and rather be “subconsciously” brainwashed into a different state of mind, giving them a false sense of security in there identity. If you have been relying on a hypothesis to fix you, then your relationship with God must be pretty nonexistent. And if you’re think about going to a hypnotist plz don’t it will only create bondages and strongholds in your life. I see what you're saying here, but doesn't God work through people too to bring healing? I agree that it is a process but many things play a role in that process. We are okay with doing biblical counselling, so why is hypnosis not okay? Isn't there a way to do it that it is simply a way to process your memories and thoughts which have led to issues like anxiety and depression?
I wish that were too but many Christians suffer from fear, depression, negative thinking, and more. I believe God gives us tools and practitioners to assist us in our healing. The bible never said that you can use thngs other than the word of God and prayer to heal you, it is even said in Leviticus 19: 31 that "Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God." Biblical counselling is a whole other story because it is based on the word of God and even Jesus did that with his disciples. Just pray for all that you desire and if it doesn't work, don't give up and continue praying because the reason why it didn't work might have been because you doubted. So don't doubt!

My counselor wants to do hypnosis to retrieve suppressed memories from my childhood so i can heal the trama and now im scared. When he mentioned hypnosis for memory retrieval i instantly felt like i was floating??? What happened?

Stop and pray to God. The feeling was conviction and that’s good. Ask the lord for forgiveness and start reading his word. I was into astrology at one point many years ago and I use to go to Barnes and nobles and buy all these books. One day I bought a book concerning birth charts and as soon as I got home I placed it down and got all set to read it and out of nowhere the book moved across the room and I got a very strong fearful something is wrong feeling. I literally took the book and threw it away at that moment!! God doesn't want us getting into anyone but him!!
This video is full of misinformation. You are okay and nothing bad is going to happen because you were playing around. If you're turning to god, let it be for your own personal reasons and not out of fear.
The Lord is trying to show you to turn away from these practices. They are very dangerous and the enemy is a liar, he comes as an angel of light. That's why many will say that these practices of hypnotism is innocent, but they're not. God has already convicted you and is helping you to change your ways and repent. He is calling you deeper. Let go and accept Jesus in your heart. He will deliver you and rescue you from these spiritual attacks.
SO there's no chance that hypnosis could just be a technique tapping into the subconscious mind of the individual and nothing else? There's no way to do it without it ending up being a way to open one's self to other spiritual forces? I'm honestly really torn because I just talked to a trusted friend yesterday whom I know is a true believer and follower of Jesus, but she has also been mentioning how she's been using some basic meditation techniques through an ap called Calm and how this has been beneficial and how its okay because well we're not just spiritual we have a body, mind and soul. And so this is simply tapping into the body, since the brain is an organ and it does operate in a physical way. But it seems to be that based on what you said, even if you just focus on your brain, you inevitably also open up this other spiritual realm too? I'm just confused. I've been dealing with anxiety for so many years and lately depression as a Christian and I've been really struggling. I'm seeking help and I believe there are many ways that can be beneficial for treating these things but I'm also well aware of the spiritual realities. So I'm just stuck nd don't know what to do anymore.
Ana P Calm is bad!!!! I do self-hyponisis and I am a born again Christian through positive affirmations. But use the app CALLED ABIDE instead. It is just like Calm but for Christians. Calm gave me sleep paralysis and I believe it to be evil.

I started to use powerful scriptures like 1 Tim 1:7. Tells that God hasn’t given fear but power love and a sound mind. Also we have the help of the Holy Spirit to guide us with unknown things. Like what’s the cause of your fear and or anxiety. I would rather trust God with my life than man. This is my advice. I would pray to God and ask him to help you find truth. I am taking a hypnotherapy class right now and I can’t get hypnotized. Everyone in the class is into “new age” religion where they chose to create their own god. Meditation yoga Chakra out of body experiences are normal to them. Every god is ok but the name of Jesus is a trigger for them. They associate Jesus with trauma. It’s a different world. We watched videos that demonstrate the effectiveness of hypnotherapy clients. It appears to be doing some good for people but I don’t know what the long term effects will be. I feel that without the demonic spirit, I don’t think you can fully experienced being hypnotized. I am the only one that can’t be hypnotized in the class, though I try my best to let go relax and follow the suggestions. It has been a waste of time but a true eye opener that Christian has a lot of work to do. I wish I was strong enough to confront them. The teacher is a Lutheran pastor😞. She is trying to warn people that when they are hynotised, there are actually spirits controlling their bodies. Hynotised people have relegated control of their bodies to demonic spirits. This is necromancy which the Bible clearly forbids and is a damnable sin.

If you read the New Testament, the apostles and disciples were healing people in Jesus name, casting out demons in Jesus name, prophesying, speaking in tongues, etc. They were being used by God the way God wanted to and they were helping others be set free of everything and anything you could possibly think about. I don't know so Im not saying its harmless, and I believe everything this woman says, but I wonder if its because she practiced hypnosis with worldly view before becoming saved. My understanding is that hypnosis is a natural state that we enter into every day. I remember driving long distance once, and after reaching my destination, I had little memory of the trip because I was deep in thought the whole way, deep inside myself, driving on automatic like i always do. That to my understanding was a form of hypnosis, I was basically day dreaming. Anyway, I could wrong and I wouldnt advise anyone to see a hypnotist because it could be very dangerous, but I cant see a problem with self hypnosis.

Stage hypnosis is fake nonsense that uses tricks, and crowd compliance, while hypnotherapy seems to use a natural mind phenomenon. If hypnosis is simply deep concentration, then to suggest it always spiritual and always demonic is superstitious, and not sound logic. Hypnosis seems to lessen brain activity in certain parts of the brain (in some people at least) that makes an individual more susceptible to suggestion, this less a spiritual state, and more a mind state (that could become spiritual for sure, but not necessarily). Of course this could be dangerous, and it would seem many Christians, especially Pentecostals spend a lot of time in hypnosis suspending their God given ability to use logic and reasoning because someone had a word. I have no doubt hypnosis can be demonic, so can sex, eating, praying, talking, anger, laughter, MUSIC and pretty much all natural phenomenon. So being something in a similar state like being drunk and losing control, we are certain from the Bible that being in a trance-state is not of God. God created us to have control, not to lose control. Anything that takes away your self-control isn't natural. Actually, losing our self-control is manipulation in its nature. When we are drunk or we do drugs, these substances manipulate our natural physical state of mind and body. This is the same during hypnotism. Yes, it is not a good idea. If you are a Christian it is good to be well educated in this area. (Only if you are a Christian) See if you can get a good reference for someone with a Deliverance ministry (as Christians we do not really need another person to do it - we can learn to do it in faith, but find someone WHO IS LEGIT to help you). I am a Christian that loves God and I am interested in transformation through renewal of the mind. This has gotten me intrigued about hypnosis, self hypnotism or hypnosis by another practicing Christian. My thought is that if hypnosis is being done in the name of Jesus then it's safe. Self-hypnosis is simply a way of getting yourself to focus on what you really want. But people get it done through listening to the voice of others, so it’s like regular hypnosis, which I believe is dangerous because you’re allowing your will to be manipulated.
We are told not to do anything that our own heart says is forbidden. Read Titus 1:15. The Lord does not permit each of us to do things that will specifically cause us to stumble, but which may be a path of learning for others. We are each so different in our walk. I myself do Christian Meditations and self-hypnosis using Biblical verses. They improved my life so greatly and brought me into such peace that I truly wanted to share my joy. However, if your mind is closed to it and you feel afraid, then it is surely not for you on your path at this time. We all naturally guide people through trances as we have conversations with them. For example, if I were to ask you ‘what did you have for breakfast this morning?’ In order to answer that question you would have to go into trance to remember what you had. A damaged childhood and severe relationship issues.. Unable to keep a relationship.. Unable to grow financially nor spiritually.. I was considering hypnotherapy.. I even spoke to a counselor(the hypnotist) to understand the program better.. It was all good until she mentioned Aura cleansing.. I am not in favor of it.. The problem with hypnosis is that you start relying completelly on that to change yourself and your life instead of praying to God and asking Him to change you. You start worship hypnosis. Often people using hypnosis for their selfish desires and pride (how to be more succesful , how to be more popular , how to develop charisma , having more money ) and not asking God to clean their soul from their wickedness. What is the benefit of gaining the whole world and losing your soul in the process ?
That makes sense, at least much more than saying it's demonic or anything like that. If you put anything and this means anything in place of God you are going against the first commandment, but it doesn't mean that thing is bad, it is just your attitude towards it.

Thank you. I felt that getting hypnotized was a bad idea. I really need to quit smoking and very much want to, my life is depending in it, but for some reason I've been very weak in doing so. My mom keeps telling me to go to the hypnotist that comes twice a year to the area. Her husband was hypnotized by him 2 years ago now for smoking and he hasn't had a cigarette since. So what you are saying is that when we go through our conscious levels at sleeptime (bedtime) we are allowing opportunity for the devil to sneak into our mind. With stage hypnotism, they throw around suggestions before the big act to observe the audience and pick out people who seem to respond to their suggestions, then those people feel obligated to perform for the crowd. You can not be hypnotized unless you want to be. You do not have to accept a suggestion. A good hypnotherapist will use your own words to strengthen your chance of success. This "trance" state is just deep relaxation and concentration. Just like with literally anything in this world. Hypnotherapy can be good or bad depending on the intentions of your hypnotherapist. What is their code of ethics? Do they match yours? Is the hypnotherapist a Christian? What do you think people said about antipsychotics or other chemotherapy or aromatherapy when they started to merge into the mainstream? Do you think that people thought they were demonic? Check it out for yourself. Yet those things are saving lives every single day. I feel like Christians deserve to take advantage of this wonderful healing modality for themselves so that they can build their mind and body up and be able to worship, serve and keep their mind on God without compulsive thoughts or intense pain keeping their minds occupied.
We are literally in a trance state every time we are driving and lose track of time, every time we get lost in a movie, right before we fall asleep. All those states are like hypnosis. Awareness is key here.
I was so consumed with PTSD that I could barely focus on God. After a lot of work with hypnotherapy and life coaching, I started to climb out of that hole and feel good again! It was then that I started to feel a pull towards that goodness and got back into the word and haven't looked back since. It is truly beautiful how these things work together for good!

Self hypnosis relates to NLP - Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It’s about filling your mind with certain thoughts so as to manipulate your perceptions, and thus your experiences, from which behaviour is altered. So, you change your behaviour by pre-programming your mind. Self-hypnosis can be as dangerous as regular hypnosis in that you effectively let go of your will in exchange for whatever you like to hypnotise yourself over. Whenever you let go of your will, you open the door for another being to take control over it.

I’m going through this with my dad right now. He connected with this hypnotist about a month or two after I moved back. I had just started trying to reconnect with him after leaving when I was in my teens and barely speaking for about ten years. He now hosts seminars at his house and recruits other people to buy into this hypnotist’s “wealth building seminars”

David strengthened himself in the Lord. Meaning he reinforced who God was in his own will/power. Hypnosis is a form of one strengthening themselves - without Christ yes this is witchcraft but with Christ this can be a great tool for the saints that are traumatised. Psalms 46:10 tells us to be still and know that He is God that translates as stop striving. When we relax our minds, our bodies and we step into deeper brainwave states it’s why we go to sleep because we’re moving from beta to alpha and so on. So when we relax that beta state we are in moves to alpha. So the reason people are so relaxed is because they are essentially going to sleep whilst simultaneously still being in a beta state. This is NOT demonic, this is natural. So when we are in those states of mind and we stop striving providing the suggestions are routed in the word of God this can be a magnificent tool for changing us epigenetically as Paul described in Romans 12

I’m 16 and I don’t have to think twice whether hypnotism is bad or not. If you have to rely on Someone to put you in a trans in order for them to “help” you overcome a fear or stop a bad habit or “help” you work through a personal issue then it’s probably not from God. YOU!!! Can not skip the process in order to see the progress. I personally think it is unhealthy mentally for someone to never truly work through there issues and rather be “subconsciously” brainwashed into a different state of mind, giving them a false sense of security in there identity. I see what you're saying here, but doesn't God work through people too to bring healing? I agree that it is a process but many things play a role in that process. We are okay with doing biblical counselling, so why is hypnosis not okay? Isn't there a way to do it that it is simply a way to process your memories and thoughts which have led to issues like anxiety and depression?
I wish that were too but many Christians suffer from fear, depression, negative thinking, and more. I believe God gives us tools and practitioners to assist us in our healing. Biblical counselling is a whole other story because it is based on the word of God and even Jesus did that with his disciples.
Just pray for all that you desire and if it doesn't work, don't give up and continue praying because the reason why it didn't work might have been because you doubted. So don't doubt!

SO there's no chance that hypnosis could just be a technique tapping into the subconscious mind of the individual and nothing else? There's no way to do it without it ending up being a way to open one's self to other spiritual forces? I'm honestly really torn because I just talked to a trusted friend yesterday whom I know is a true believer and follower of Jesus, but she has also been mentioning how she's been using some basic meditation techniques through an ap called Calm and how this has been beneficial and how its okay because well we're not just spiritual we have a body, mind and soul. And so this is simply tapping into the body, since the brain is an organ and it does operate in a physical way. But it seems to be that based on what you said, even if you just focus on your brain, you inevitably also open up this other spiritual realm too? I'm just confused. I've been dealing with anxiety for so many years and lately depression as a Christian and I've been really struggling. I'm seeking help and I believe there are many ways that can be beneficial for treating these things but I'm also well aware of the spiritual realities. I am taking a hypnotherapy class right now and I can’t get hypnotized. Everyone in the class is into “new age” religion where they chose to create their own god. Meditation yoga Chakra out of body experiences are normal to them. Every god is ok but the name of Jesus is a trigger for them. They associate Jesus with trauma. It’s a different world. We watched videos that demonstrate the effectiveness of hypnotherapy clients. It appears to be doing some good for people but I don’t know what the long term effects will be. I feel that without the demonic spirit, I don’t think you can fully experienced being hypnotized. I am the only one that can’t be hypnotized in the class, though I try my best to let go relax and follow the suggestions. It has been a waste of time but a true eye opener that Christian has a lot of work to do. I wish I was strong enough to confront them. The teacher is a Lutheran pastor😞. She is trying to warn people that when they are hynotised, there are actually spirits controlling their bodies. Hynotised people have relegated control of their bodies to demonic spirits. This is necromancy which the Bible clearly forbids and is a damnable sin.

My understanding is that hypnosis is a natural state that we enter into every day. I remember driving long distance once, and after reaching my destination, I had little memory of the trip because I was deep in thought the whole way, deep inside myself, driving on automatic like i always do. That to my understanding was a form of hypnosis, I was basically day dreaming.
Anyway, I could wrong and I wouldnt advise anyone to see a hypnotist because it could be very dangerous, but I cant see a problem with self hypnosis.

Stage hypnosis is fake nonsense that uses tricks, and crowd compliance, while hypnotherapy seems to use a natural mind phenomenon. If hypnosis is simply deep concentration, then to suggest it always spiritual and always demonic is superstitious, and not sound logic. Hypnosis seems to lessen brain activity in certain parts of the brain (in some people at least) that makes an individual more susceptible to suggestion, this less a spiritual state, and more a mind state (that could become spiritual for sure, but not necessarily). Of course this could be dangerous, and it would seem many Christians, especially Pentecostals spend a lot of time in hypnosis suspending their God given ability to use logic and reasoning because someone had a word. I have no doubt hypnosis can be demonic, so can sex, eating, praying, talking, anger, laughter, MUSIC and pretty much all natural phenomenon. So being something in a similar state like being drunk and losing control, we are certain from the Bible that being in a trance-state is not of God. God created us to have control, not to lose control. Anything that takes away your self-control isn't natural. Actually, losing our self-control is manipulation in its nature. When we are drunk or we do drugs, these substances manipulate our natural physical state of mind and body. This is the same during hypnotism. There are weirdos that use witchcraft with this. However, hypnosis is just simply a form of meditation done voluntarily with another person. This sort of legalism is just crazy. Yes, it is not a good idea. If you are a Christian it is good to be well educated in this area. (Only if you are a Christian) See if you can get a good reference for someone with a Deliverance ministry (as Christians we do not really need another person to do it - we can learn to do it in faith, but find someone WHO IS LEGIT to help you). Self-hypnosis is simply a way of getting yourself to focus on what you really want. But people get it done through listening to the voice of others, so it’s like regular hypnosis, which I believe is dangerous because you’re allowing your will to be manipulated.
We are told not to do anything that our own heart says is forbidden. Read Titus 1:15. The Lord does not permit each of us to do things that will specifically cause us to stumble, but which may be a path of learning for others. We are each so different in our walk. I myself do Christian Meditations and self-hypnosis using Biblical verses. They improved my life so greatly and brought me into such peace that I truly wanted to share my joy. However, if your mind is closed to it and you feel afraid, then it is surely not for you on your path at this time. We all naturally guide people through trances as we have conversations with them. For example, if I were to ask you ‘what did you have for breakfast this morning?’ In order to answer that question you would have to go into trance to remember what you had. And that isn’t letting someone cast a spell on you, is it?

It’s to pull you away from Jesus. But in the end, if you don’t put your faith in Jesus, you will be judged. And Jesus has all the healing power if you put all your faith in Him.
