Hey guys. I don't know if you will respond to this, but I just want to let you know this thing. Remember the first dinosaur we saw in the first Jurassic Park movie, the Brachiosaurus? The one that reared up on its hind legs? That's the same in this movie that died in that volcanic eruption. Those two are one and the same.

What’s more sad and heartbreaking on the Brachiosaurus that met its demise during the Volcanic Eruption of Isla Nublar it was the same Brachiosaurus that Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie, Malcolm, and Dr. John Hammond encountered in the first _Jurassic Park_ film. 🦕
In fact, the death of that Brachiosaurus represents the end of Hammond's dream.😢

I like how Henry Wu isn’t your typical villain motivated by greed or financial/political power. He’s simply blinded by the power of science. He doesn’t care about getting rich or taking control of people or anything like the others, he just wants to be able to push his experiments as far as he can. And he wants to be the first.
Edit: I should’ve clarified I meant typical for this franchise. Most of the Jurassic villains either want money or to have power over others and they will use the dinosaurs to reach that goal. He’s an outlier when amongst a club of capitalists. In media in general, yes he follows the mad scientist trope which is hella typical. 😅

I know that not everyone likes this movie but I enjoyed it very much!
My parents and I saw it and we loved it.
The Brachiosaurus dying is the same one that Alan, Ellie, Malcolm and Hammond encountered back in 1993. The death of the dinosaur represents the death of Hammond's dream.
The opening scene is based on the original ending from the first JURASSIC PARK film, where the T-Rex chases Grant to the helicopter, the Rex grabs hold of the skid, while Grant shoots the dinosaur in the mouth with a flare gun, and it lets go, while the helicopter flies back to the Mainland.
It was Chris Pratt's idea that Owen should have a normal life without dealing with any dinosaurs, but when he learns that Blue is in danger, he decides to go on a rescue operation to save her from extinction.
The volcano exploding is based on the original ending from the novel, where the Costa Rican Government bombs the island with Napalm to make sure none of the dinosaurs get off the island.
The sounds of the Indoraptor are that of a Chihuahua, Lion, Dolphin, Pig and a dental drill.
Michael Giacchino wanted the score to sound epic and Gothic as well as paying homage to composer Bernard Hermann.

This movie annoys the heck out of me because it's completely pointless and nonsensical if you remember Site B. Dinos wouldn't be wiped out if Isla Nublar were destroyed because Isla Sorna would still be there chillin. This one even had Jeff Goldblum in it who had a whole movie about him being stuck on Isla Sorna! Did he and everyone else just forget about it? They should have mentioned that they wiped out the dinos on Site B or something after the third movie so that the plot makes sense. It just seems that the writers put no effort into making the JW movies have much of any consistency with the JP trilogy.

Bayona did that on purpose, the stark change of the films genre. In an article he said "The first half, you have a whole dinosaur movie on the island, so you have what you expect from a Jurassic movie, Then the second half moves to a totally different environment that feels more suspenseful, darker, claustrophobic, and even has this kind of gothic element, which I love." So the genre switch was on purpose, I personally loved the fact we got to experience both genres in one. It makes the film more interesting to me. The horror half is my favorite half.

I am not ashamed to admit that this is probably my top favourite Jurassic movie, largely due to the fact that it deviates from the standard 3-step system the prior movies followed (go to island, get chased by Dinosaurs, get off island), and even with the island segment, they changed the equation by adding in an impending volcanic eruption, and just feels the most unique movie of the set. I like that it also does a really good job at showing the Dinosaurs as the victims they really are, and I applaud you for being one/two of the seemingly few reactors to this movie who actually seem to care about these animals and want them to be saved. I delight in the fact that this film allows a herbivore the chance to be centre stage, with the Stygimoloch thrashing the auction, making it one of my favourite Dinosaurs in this franchise, and while I do agree with you in that there probably wasn't as much time with the Indoraptor as we might have hoped, I do think they made the most of its screentime that they could have, along with the chilling concept that, since it was a prototype, what might a perfected version have been capable of?
I also have no shame in saying that due to these features, this film still holds my personal record for most times watched in cinemas, 9 times to be specific, displacing the prior record holder, How to Train Your Dragon 2, at 7 times.
If just to twist the knife even further on the Brachiosaurus's death during the departure, it was officially confirmed that it was the same individual first revealed to Dr Grant and the others from the first movie, as it's silhouetted rearing up moment demonstrated
Also, I think you missed the end credit scene of Pteranodons flying over Las Vegas; not a major loss, it's just a few seconds long, just thought I'd mention it.
To put some names to faces for the new Dinosaurs that weren't named in-film; the Dinosaur in the lava-bunker sequence and seen being loaded onto the boat was Baryonyx, a smaller, sail-less cousin of Spinosaurus found in England, and one of my all-time favourite Dinosaurs (so yet another point in this film's favour). The horned Dinosaur that found the paralysed Owen was the Asian Sinoceratops, from the same family as Triceratops, and the horned carnivore that attacks it during the stampede was the infamous Carnotaurus. The herbivore that turned the auction into a warzone was Stygimoloch, a relative of the Pachycephalosaurus from the second movie, very similar with the primary difference being the larger spikes around the Styggy's head.
If you would like to see some of that Dinosaurs on the mainland action before Dominion (the Extended Edition is my own recommendation), youtube's official Jurassic Park/World Channel has the worthwhile short film, Battle at Big Rock, as well as a sightings/clips compilation video from the official website, Dinotracker (that word is in the video title, so it can be easily searched for), showcasing recorded sightings of Dinosaurs all over the world, and both are highly recommendable, as well as the Netflix animated series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, and it's follow-up, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

This was a good follow-up to the first "Jurassic World" movie. We've got the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm at the beginning and at the end.
Fun, but Sad Fact: 33:50 According to director J.A. Bayona, that is supposed to be the same Brachiosaurus dinosaur that Sam Neil's character Alan Grant first saw in the original first "Jurassic Park" movie. Just knowing that always makes this one small scene harder to watch.
And of course, one of the best dinosaurs, Blue comes in to save Owen and Maisie at the end. Love the Blue vs. Indoraptor dinosaur fight.
One movie left to go, and then your Jurassic Park/Jurassic World journey will be complete.

While the vast majority including WatchMojo say Nedry’s death was the most satisfying and the number #1 death in the _Jurassic Park_ franchise, to me I personally think Wheatley and Eli Mills were the most satisfying deaths out of all the human villains in the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World Series.
Think about it, the former darted Owen and left him to die in the Isla Nubar volcanic eruption and since he was a Dinosaur Game Hunter taking each tooth of each Dinosaur as a trophy, you feel bad for those dinosaurs that had to endure the tooth removal from Wheatley, so seeing him meet his end at the hands of the Indoraptor was satisfying to watch as the hunter himself became the hunted.
As for Eli Mills, he was just another version of Peter Ludlow but much more selfish, manipulative, greedy, and unredeemable and like Ludlow, he want to take the dinosaurs from the island and take them to the mainland to a sanctuary, only that like Ludlow he wants to bring the Dinosaurs to the mainland and sees them as profit (Ludlow: bringing the Dinosaurs for an attraction in San Diego; Mills: Bringing the Dinosaurs to the Lockwood estate for an auction just to continue further genetic research). Not to mention he murdered Lockwood after he found out on Mills illegal activities and I was grateful to see Rexy eat Mills for all the despicable things he has done and comes full circle that both Ludlow and Mills were devoured by a T.Rex. Finally I hate that majority of you bash on Maisie for releasing the Dinosaurs, but let’s be realistic, if she didn’t release the dinosaurs and left them to die, then Eli Mills and his cronies would’ve eventually gotten away and not get arrested while continuing to do their illegal activities with the Indominus Rex DNA creating more genetic hybrids.

I think Owen tried detaching himself and avoided going to Nublar initially because the loss of the Raptors affected him greatly. They would have been like losing beloved pets or even children for him.
Claire started changing since comforting the dying Apatosaurus that was attacked by the Indominus monster.
There was always a volcano on Isla Nublar since the beginning. You can see it on the map from Jurassic World but the facilities always used geothermal energy from the volcano.
Ludlow said in The Lost World that "Hammond always ran everything on geothermal power."
Isla Sorna has a volcano too due to the same energy.
    The Indoraptor is pretty cool.
I love that he is a mentally unstable prototype but extremely intelligent.
Its also confirmed to be a male dinosaur (not very common in the jurassic series).
The quills on his back are like the male Raptors.

Claires character arc already started in the first Jurassic World. That moment when she witnesses the death of the Apatosaurus is still one of my favourite moments in this franchise. So since a few years passed it makes sense that she would be different now. But I agree that it could have been great if Owen and her had more of a progression throughout these films. Fallen Kingdom has some nice tender moments as well and I think those are probably the best parts about the movie. That scene with the Brachiosaurus is heartbreaking. The horror vibes in the second half were kinda cool but it didn't feel like a Jurassic movie to me anymore, much more - like you said - a monster movie. The Indoraptor has far too many human traits and doesn't act like an animal in a lot of scenes and I honestly didn't like those aspects of the film. I get why they did it but I prefer my Jurassic movies to be about animals. I get that the first one did this as well with the I-Rex but the second one in the mansion is just over the top. Maisie is a great addition in this film though I also wish they would have done more with her. So it really is a mixed bag, it's fun and has some interesting moral themes but it never reaches the hights of the other movies.
(It also kinda steals the plot of The Lost World.)
I highly suggest the official shortfilm "Battle at big rock" on RUclips before you watch the last one, that came out to promote Jurassic World Dominion and it's actually really good.

I like dr. Wu as a character. He’s very much the embodiment of Ian’s quote “you were so caught up in whether or not you could, you never stopped to ask if you should.” I also like he’s not incompetent. He learned from the indominus Rex and the isolation problem, as he explained the indoraptor needed a strong familial bond to be ready for sale. He learns but not the most important lesson.
I felt they had a real missed opportunity with maisie because I thought they were teasing that the indoraptor was spliced with human dna and the familial bond was with maisie. That somehow it would have a connection with her and the problem would be the indoraptor saw her as her child or maybe like her mother because they used Lockwood daughters dna since they had it on hand. It would have made the indoraptor more tragic if it had been trying to protect maisie but it was still putting her in danger because of its size and claws and stuff. Sort of a real callback to the Frankenstein origins of the movie. It doesn’t understand it’s hurting her or that Owen and Claire are protecting and helping her. Showing that the lack of early life socializing is so detrimental. The juxtaposition between blue and the indoraptor. This would probably have been too sappy if an ending but maybe blue showing the social cues and things like that help the indoraptor learn and just when it seems like it’s going well maisie gets kidnapped by discount Ryan Reynolds (sorry but he did such a good job as the villain it’s hard to separate the actor from the character lol) and the indoraptor, blue, Owen and Claire work together to save her and, of course, the indoraptor dies in tragic heroic fashion.
I agree in your criticism that I would like to see these different genres stand alone movies. I think it would be a great horror movie if there was an isolated facility, underground or something really confined and claustrophobic, and there is a super hybrid escaped containment and the facility is in lockdown and you have your survivors and maybe different habitats for the dinosaurs as set pieces and you have the “regular” Dino’s complicating the attempts to hide and escape the super hybrid.

People often ask why would you build anything on islands with Volcanoes. But... Hilo (Kilauea has a history of large explosive eruptions), Santorini, Vulcano, Stromboli, basically all of Indonesia, Kirishima, Naples, Seattle... Just because a volcano exists does not mean people don't build near it, even in the danger zones. I would say that it is more likely for people to live and build things near a volcano than it is for people to avoid volcanoes when building settlements. Islands are more often than not, volcanic in origin. Costa Rica sits on a major volcanic arc, so it make perfect sense that there is a volcano on the island, and that the park would have been built anyways. Had the park been open, it is likely all the Dinosaurs, and people, would have been evacuated to Site B.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 2 месяца назад

Yes but people build too close to the danger zones. In Hawaii they know how active Kilauea is but let’s build a visitors centre right on the rim of the Volcano and let’s build an entire sub division on top of a rift zone. Iceland let’s build an entire fishing village right on top of a lava chamber they know is there because they built a power plant on top of it. Just because it’s been doormat for thousands of years dosnt mean it won’t wake up at some point. Just stay clear don’t build where you know there’s been previous activity.

@@daviddavis2545 the thing is too, they could've opened the main door which would let the gas out, and then figure out how to get the dinos to a safe island.

@@daviddavis2545 and they couldn't retrain the girl cus she didn't while no one was looking, but still it was so stupid, I wonder what the 3rd movie would be like if they hadn't let the dinos out and got them to a different island, maybe they get stuck on the island somehow, that would be kinda cool ig

@@daviddavis2545what Maisie did didnt really matter, dinosaurs already escaped the moment Mills sold those dinosaurs.

I've been seeing more of your videos pop up on my feed and find myself coming back for more! Ya'll are amazing and fun to watch! Your reactions to the movies are so genuine and your reviews at the end have been really refreshing! Like actually having good criticisms, but still appreciating the artistry, time and effort all the different creatives put into making the film. It's really nice ya'll acknowledge that and still try to highlight those aspects in the film!
I remember seeing an early screening of this film and having very similar reactions (That Brachiosaurus scene really hurt).
There was a short film that was released a few years ago prior to the third film of this trilogy that's directed and written by Colin Trevorrow. Its called Battle of Big Rock (i think) but its a fantastic short that gives you a glimpse of the world now that these dinos are out and about!
Anyways, can't wait to see your reactions to the final film and will be coming back for more of your other videos!
    Cheers.

Out of all the Jurassic Park and World movies, this scene hits different 33:43 something interesting about the Indoraptor is that it’s part velociraptor and part Indominus Rex, which was already a mess of different animals in one being combining; T-Rex, raptor, spino , dinosucus and a whole bunch of other creatures. So the fact that the Indoraptor is part I-Rex makes it even more of a sock drawer than it’s predecessor 🙄 35:08. I also just noticed that his glasses reflect the money 💴, a subtle hint at what they’ve always and only cared about 48:16
