Of course.....I don't care if the writing isn't very good, but I dohope it is.I just wanna see the kraken vs and megalodon and Jason Statham killing it with a sword
I love the reel rejects cast. Any which combination you give us, it's like a second family. I have no idea how well it would work but man imagine an "everyone is here" reaction, though rip to whoever would have to edit that
For a movie that is so unbelievable, it does a lot of really good things. The underwater shots feel almost like star wars. The cgi looks amazing, the gills moving on the shark and other small details really made it look real.
Let's be real, we only one we ever cared about surviving was the dog. This and _Deep Blue Sea_ are easily the best shark movies that aren't _Jaws,_ a movie I can just have fun with. Put it on as well as _Lake Placid_ or _Arachnophobia_ and I'm entertained. That's all I expected from this and I was not disappointed.
I don’t know why, but anytime I‘m sitting down and there’s simply nothing good findable to watch, The Meg is the movie I resort back to. I‘ve lost count over how many times I‘ve watched this movie, but somehow, it’s still entertaining.
30:30 The “This wasn’t part of the job description” line always reminds me of the movie Thirteen Ghosts, where at the end Maggie says the same line & that she’s quitting!
I think the caught megaldon was it's infant, and it came to remove it from the boat. I haven't seen any of the reactors that have watched this catch the name of the dog "pippin" in this movie and the lady calling his name over and over again from Jaws when the guy in thecyellow shirt was calling for his dog pippin. When I first saw this in the theater, it tickeled me that they used it as a comedic call back to Jaws.
Another JAWS reference - 3 floats Jaws - they attached 3 barrels or floats, if you were fishing, to the shark Meg - at the ludicrously crowded beach Meg was dragging 3 rafts, also called floats
Based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Steve Alten. It took them 20 years to make this movie happen, as a lot of directors were considered for helming the project, including Guillermo Del Toro, Eli Roth, and Jan De Bont.
@@magnuswendin7924 Huge Peter Benchley fan here, Jaws, The Beast, and White Shark some of my faves... would you consider the Alten novel in that same vein, or more like the movie? Much appreciated magnus, shaine
This team up feels like one of those times when you, your friend and their friend are hanging out and your friend goes, “hold up, I need to use the bathroom real quick…”, and you and their friend just sit there like 😐 but in this case it’s less awkward lol
The Chinese artists and their production here were the best part of this film. Usually, Hollywood butchers their collaboration, and here it's done right. More such needs to happen. Like John wick series, esp 4 did a perfect collaboration, too. And yes, that cute teacup puppy swimming is just chefs kiss.
I love this movie. Not my all time favorite but just a honest good cheesy movie who knows what it is. If any movie is allowed to have its jump the shark moments. I would have to say it should be a movie about a literal giant shark.
I remember seeing this movie weeks before going on a trip to Carolina. We'd be on the beach and I would get scared everytime I went in the water. I was only in there for short bursts 😅 Nah this duo is already funny from the intro 😭

That is crazy that these two didn't know each other because they are both my two favorite extended rejects family... Tara will always be my number one though!
The part at the end when Jason stabbed the shark in the eye and it jumped out of the water. Jason actually did that shot and that just blows my mind how cool he is😂
It's a tiny thing but I pove how they call the dog Pippin. Like the dog in Jaws. Loads of great parallels to Jaws tbh. I thought they gave homage to Jaws really well without taking away from the story they wanted to tell.
During one dive I was in I got the jump scare of my life when a newborn great white pup no bigger than 6 feet came out of nowhere. We were in murky water where you could not see anything past a outstretched hand which gave the shark the added advantage but even in clearer water you'd be surprised just how often people have been around big sharks like great whites and never even had a clue they were there.
The amount of homages to Jaws that people miss when reacting to this blows my mind. Maybe because I have seen Jaws about a million times so they scream out to me but how can you miss that the dog is called Pippin for god's sake?!!!
