Fun fact: For those who still don’t know what kind of fish Oscar is, he’s a bluestreak cleaner wrasse, they’re known for cleaning parasites off other creatures, which explains why Oscar works at the Whale Wash.
Ah yes, the movie that somehow got nominated for Best Animated Feature, got Martin Scorsese to voice act for the first, and as far as I know, only time, and made Will Smith quit voice acting for 15 years. And yet, I can't help but love it. It's the pinnacle of "so bad it's good" movies, and I can't get enough of it.
Yea I never thought it was bad at all I loved this movie. And omg the soundtrack I’d always turn it up in the car and pull out my not so good dance moves lol ❤
@@sun-hv4er that intro scene was so good, with the little documentary thing and then the soundtrack too. I can't get over that movie ever. Came out when I was 6 and here I am turning 23 in four months still geeked over it
I enjoyed the hell out of this movie as a kid and as an adult when I realized all the fish puns I enjoy it even more the soundtrack was also on point and that was actually Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott at the end. they did a remix to Carwash originally sung by Rose Royce
I LOVED this movie. My fav reference is when he says "you had me at hello!" and of course Renee Zellwegger just looks in confusion. I thought that was hilarious.
This Movie is one of my guilty pleasures, I can acknowledge it isn't the best movie ever but it is by no means terrible and it can at least be considered a stupid kind of fun and can be enjoyable as well, I recommend giving the movie a try at least once, even just for the memes
UNDERRATED this right here was my favorite animated movie growing up idc everything about this was sooooo good to me and honestly pretty deep for a kids movie 😂🤞🏾 will smith as Oscar was so fun to watch, the fact they called a fish a gold digger 😂 the Jamaican jellyfish, the shark loved all the this even the little shrimp. The cast was STACKED
I don't know if this makes me happy or sad, but watching the scene where the Jellyfish stinging Oscar while playing Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, I'm picking the vibe of nicely having a family member to be part of a movie and paying tribute to a loved one with a song they made back then.
I was not expecting this reaction at all 😂😂😂😂. Every terrible trope people used to dislike about DreamWorks films is in this movie. The bad puns, pop-culture references, overuse on A-list celebrities, making a film suspiciously similar to Pixar or Disney etc. This film is kinda of a guilty pleasure for me but I'm defending it against those who hate it. Also, 1:38 the DreamWorks logo here ain't old school to me lol. The one plays before Antz or Prince of Egypt is truly old school 😅 😅.
It has been double digits worth of time since I’ve seen this, SO EXCITED!! Post video: damn that was different😂 I got more of the references now so that’s cool! Makes me want to rewatch all my childhood movies to see how my kid mind and adult mind differ!! This was a super fun movie!
This movie & The Prince of Egypt tie as my # 1 favorite Dreamworks movies. And the reason why I put Shark Tale in that number 1 spot is not only because of the animation, visuals and color textures but also because of the soundtrack, which didn’t have to go so hard. If it wasn’t for Shark Tale, I wouldn’t know about the other cast members other than Will Smith and I wouldn’t be knowing about half the artists on the soundtrack. Not to mention, as a child watching this, I thought it was very impressive that an animated film has a soundtrack that’s predominantly Hip Hop and R&B. Also, this film taught me the definition of gold digger as a kid.
Nobody ever mentioned how they made the fishes. Look like you know the actual people Will Smith's face look like will smith Robert De Niro still had his mole. Martin Scorsese, have the Big eyebrows So I think that they did a really good job so you could recognize the actor in the fish as I thought that was nice little detail. If you look really closely, the 2 fishes singing at the end. Car wash, miss Elliott and Christina. Aguilera, they look exactly like they do in real life. If anybody watches us again, pay attention to that.
Shark Tale is my favorite DreamWorks animation movie out of all of them, because they have the best people/characters/music/songs, and everything. I love this movie without a doubt. Plus there is more after the credits, well twice. 👍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really liked this movie as a kid. Like, really. I even had the book version. But I didn't watch it in English, so for me, these fish were never celebs, they were just characters, it helped a lot. And the "vegetarian" shark really spoke to my gay ass 😂
A real favorite that doesn't get the credit it should.. I also loved the crab and only now realized the theme music from the TV Show he turns on (had always just passed over my head) Benny Hill heheheheheh :) THERE's a show i would love to see reactions from heheheh
Yes!! My favorite animated movie when I was young. I still love it unlike people who change their minds saying they don’t like stuff because others don’t. I’m sticking with my words! It’s iconic.
Oh geez I remember seeing this when I was a young lad at 16 . Wouldn't it be kool if we had cities at the bottom of the sea? Thanks Tara for bringing me back old-school for at least one night! 🥳 Your a really kool chick. 🦪

Shrek & Kung Fu Panda franchises for me
Once again, of all the movies you could’ve watched, I did not expect this. Please watch How to Train Your Dragon if you haven’t seen
Sinbad the legend of the seven seas
How To Train Your Dragon trilogy hands down! Still to this day my fav animated movie!
Don’t forget Over The Hedge

I remember dying laughing as a kid to the "I Like Big Butts and I Cannot Lie" scene. I was very easily amused as a child.
The amount of times I rewound that scene and the amount of insanity my mom went through dealing with it… thought I was the only one haha

Sharks Tale and Surfs Up are two underrated animated films that I adore! Glad y’all finally got to check it out ❤
Surfs up is perfection. Sadly the 2nd one went the way it went and without Shia too. His voice worked so well for that character
Surf’s Up is leagues better
Cody's this Cody's that Cody's this. Cody's me bro, let me be me🐧

Even though Shrek 2 was the best dreamworks movie of 2004. I have a soft spot for Shark Tale it is very nostalgic for me
Me too.
I remember playing the shark tale video game, now that was nostalgic.
@@varietyvince6583 especially the game over the dizzy 🥴 Oscar with starfish
One of my childhood favorites for sure💯
I love how they didn't forget Robert de niro's beauty mark by the eye

I thought Carwash was originally made just for the movie as a kid
@@FigureFarterthe song itself wasn't. But I think Christina and Missy made their cover of it specifically for the soundtrack

Oh John and Tara. One of my favorite duos back at it again with a childhood movie of mine! Love this movie and love you 2!
if you listen to the song that plays during lola's entrance it is a song called god digger which gives you a clue as to who lola is
I love this movie and the music is fire. The behind the scenes are so funny. The crew had so much fun giving Martin Scorcese cool lines.
Oh, I remember this one. Out of all animated features of the 2000's, Shark Tale was one of them.
put the shrimp down always cracked me up lol.

This is one of my childhood movies such a classic

It’s not in the same level of Finding Nemo but It’s still worth seeing.

I was 7 or 8 when this came out, and I definitely knew who Katie Couric was just from my parents having the news on a lot.
It was cool to have Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese to be in Shark Tale after they parted ways in the 90's after making "Casino"
This is very much an overhated movie. It's pretty gank regarding its animation, but it's pretty fun nonetheless.
